You can't reload an actual M14 pattern rifle like that. That's something only the airsoft GBB version can do, which they (and Payday 2) probably used as reference
Yeah. My best assumption that it was to have better fitting sounds / calmer sounds. I feel like the better sounds will later be used for battle pass weapons.
It's nice they've kept the AK47's (Kastov 7.62) animations from CoD MW2019 with some tweaks rather than completely revamping it. This weapon was animated by the Animation Director for MW2019 and not from one of the 4 main Animators, which is why it's style is different compared to the others. Personally, I think it's a nice little tribute.
Honestly the mw19 AK reload was probably my favorite in the game. It was so fluid and smooth, and now that you mention it, I do see how it's style is different compared to the other reloads
The fact that this game surpasses what was already super realistic looking animations in 2019s CoD modern Warfare blows me away. And people who say it’s the excact same are ignorant. There are insane improvement in detail, animations feel heavier, and more human. And the inspect animations are another level, 80% or more of all weapons have different inspect animations in this game, while only a few seasonal weapons in 2019 had unique inspecting. Thank you Infinity Ward for this hard work!
Thanks for including the animations for extended mags, underslung attachments and fast hands. I was disappointed to see the big channels consistently leave them out.
The change some gun sounds to make it feel more calmer, instead of it being more mechanical I like that, I used an ar15 a long time ago, I reloaded it like that and the new sounds are similar, and the sounds from beta were far from that
What i like from this game is how they make the reloading sound more satisfying and calmer to heat, rather than aggresive and loud. Also the animations are also improved as well.
Watch the animations of m4 in 60fps in 0.5x or 0.25x speed and notice (with respect to the location of the gun in 3d space, meaning its x,y,z location and rotation) how the gun moves. During the bolt release and mag insertion there is a certain giggle wether that is the guns y location (backwards or forward movement) or its y rotation (rotation of the gun clockwise or anticlockwise). As a viewmodel animator myself, its no magic the guns feel so smooth yet shaky. Its the manipulation of the keyframes/frames that stay hidden from viewers eyes that makes a masterpiece animation. But i must say its very hard to achieve a this level of detail in an fps animation. Great animations indeed.
Love how the sounds become more thumpy when some of the guns (notably the LMGs) are pressed against the shoulder as if it was reverberating through the body

Attention to Detail is very very awesome. You can only notice them if you play it in slow motion. Imagine if they add a reloading skill per player even the nervousness of your character and chance to drop your magazine while reloading if your character is nervous during playgame.
Anybody notice how normal the reloads are in this game compared to 2019? Mw19 had more aggressive reloads while this game seems more toned down and less tacticool reloads. However there’s more different types of reloads here with mag sizes changing the sounds of the cartridges while reloading. Props to the animators at IW they killed it once again!
You can tell this is the natural progression for MW2019. It’s kinda funny that the other studios made no progression in terms of game design after mw2019 other than implementing more bs and stupid choices. It really shows the passion infinityward has for their game, they are true artists and are by far the best studio working on call of duty. In my opinion, right now, they are the best studio in gaming, we’ll see where rockstar falls in the upcoming months.

The MPX appeared a shiet ton in the campaign and seems to work perfectly with even a drum mag version existing. Honey Badger was also used by Ghost for majority of the campaign. So I find it wierd they'd cut these two.
