You first have to change the video output settings in the options of the ps2 for the hdmi convertor to work . My hdmi convertor came with a usb cable that i had to plug in the front of my ps2.
That's not necessary, the HDMI adapter will support all methods of video output. Dude just didn't actually power the HDMI adapter, it's an active converter and needs power to convert.

I think you have to plug in the adapter to power, like on the side of the adapter there's a micro usb port that you plug into a wall outlet. At least that's how mine works

Lamar, I think the problem may be due to the video output settings on the PS2. I don't know if you'll see this, but try turning on the PS2 with no game inside, press down, press X, press down 3 times, press X, then press left, then press X. I think you have to change this video setting for the HDMI adapter to work. You have to do it for component cables, so I think it may be the same.
Hey brother, sorry for your frustration on the PS2 but one thing I noticed was the PS2 to HDMI adapter you bought. Where you plug in the HDMI there is an A/C Power input that needs to be plugged in as well. Without that, the adapter will not work. Your TV shows an HDMI plugged in but it's only because it registers when it's contacting a pin located in the HDMI port. This doesn't mean it has a signal. The adapter you bought should've come with the power plug for the adapter. I only mention this as I had on of those as well. Please let me know if this helps. But I do agree with everyone, that PS2 Slim model is in horrible condition.

Hi Lamarr, I think you need to plug your ps2 into an older tv with the composite cable first and this will give you a signal then go into the system setting of the ps2 and change video output to y pb br component then try it again on your OLED display 😀

Lamar. I’m going to blow your mind. The ps2 works the tv you own doesn’t support 480i through Hdmi that’s what it’s not cutting on. I found this out because I have a ps2 that works with the same type of lg oled tv but the Hdmi adaptor doesn’t work. If you want to play the ps2 on that tv you will need to use the original cables.

red light means it's on standby mode, green means it's on
ps2's dont' HAVE a standby mode... it's either on or it isn't. Same with ps3 actually. Red light just means it's got power (plugged in).
Azhrei2000 they do have a standby mode. The I/O switch at the back is what takes it from off to standby. Power button or eject turns it on

You have to go into the setting on the ps2 using a scart and change the video output so it will work with hdmi.
