    "Could be used in hand to hand combat" I love it lol. I'm a while away from buying such an expensive pen (sticking with Metros and TWSBI Ecos for now), but considering this one to put together a travel painting kit since it would perfectly match the travel watercolor brushes I have my eye on. It may be silly to some to spend $120 on a pen to match my paintbrushes but if I ever do it it will get lots of use plus pretty and reliable writer I will use for years.

    I get annoyed with the number of rotations required to take the cap off the Lilliput. The Sport pens feel much more convenient to open.

    I fitted a full size converter to mine so I can’t take out the extension. The nib is beautiful and I love the weight.

    Best EDC (or PPP as you say) pen I've ever seen. Mine was perfectly tuned out of the box. I bought a liliput for my girlfriend, she loves it but I find it waaaay too small and light.

    I have the Supra Steel with a BB nib. I love it dearly. I’m surprised that there’s no mention at all of an obvious added bonus of this pen’s design and features. One can leave the extender piece on, so that you can use it with a converter and write with the pen unposted, which I exactly what I do with my Supra Steel.

    Beautiful pen. Want one. The "extension" that can be taken off seems more like a novelty... posted it's SOOOO long. If (read: when) I get this pen, that center section is going in the drawer. Which is a shame cause it wont patina with the rest of the pen... but oh well. The standard Liliput is just a bit pitit girth-wise for me. It actually looks like my brass "space pen". This seems like the perfect size.

  • @Biber0315
    @Biber0315 8 лет назад

    I wonder if that section (and/or extension) could be put into the AL-Sport? The #6 nib certainly would look to be a better scale for the Sport.
    Nice to see Kaweco addressing the apparent issue of the Lilliput being on the small side for many people. The extra girth is great, but I think they would be well served by simply adding a centimeter or so to the body or redesigning the section so it doesn't sit so deep (or the nib unit so it isn't so long) so that a well functioning converter will fit.

    • @UndeadRustMonster
      @UndeadRustMonster 8 лет назад +1

      No can do. Cap of a (Al-)Sport doesn't have space for #6 nib. Also Supra and AL-Sport uses different threads.

    I wish there were better places where I live to buy fountain pens. the only places here are staples and office depot and the cheapest pen is a very crappy $35 pen. my friend who lives in France tells me all the time that everyone uses fountain pens or at least has used one so that is probably why they are cheaper. here I'm the only person in my school to know what a fountain pen is and actually use one.

      You bet. While the threads work perfectly and are both smooth and grippy (they are brass) it is not automatic as to which end of the pen is which. So you can unscrew the back of the pen whilst trying to uncap it. First thing I did with my new pen. Buy one!

    have had an aluminum liliput in my pocket for about a year but want something heavier.. tough call between this or a brass/steel liliput

    • @jseden
      @jseden 3 года назад

      @@UFSHOW actually lost my aluminum one a few months ago and still need to replace it lol. I guess I'd probably get the steel for an EDC but would just as quickly get the brass if that's all my local place has.
      EDIT: Just saw this was about the Supra.. I'd actually forgotten about that option but yea I think I'll just go with one of those. Much harder lose. Hopefully.
      Rotring 800 has been in my pocket since but I still need a new good pen.. however it's generally not a great time for me to go spend $50-$100 on one.
      I'd still like my liliput to turn up but I'm pretty sure it fell out of my pocket while riding my motorcycle. It was just loose in a little kaweco leather sheath.

    • @jseden
      @jseden 3 года назад

      @@UFSHOW great info! The lightweight nature of the aluminum liliput was my biggest gripe with it. Hence my inclination to replace it with brass or steel. I've got a kaweco special pencil in .5. that one lives at home due to the non-retractable tip, along with the fact that it's the longer variant.. I'm generally more of a pencil guy, I do a lot of technical sketches for work and just love the mechanical aspect, along with the satisfaction that comes with a nice mechanism. I've also got a bunch of the cheaper rotrings (500?) Around loaded with colored lead for little deatils. The kaweco advance is super crisp feeling. It's also more comfortable and precise feeling than the rotring, due to the wider body. Pentel graphgear is also a surprisingly nice $5 pencil too.
      The fidget factor definitely plays a roll too, hence the rotring 800 lol. The advance feels a little muted compared to the kaweco though. Again I appreciate the reply.. maybe I'll check my local place out Tomorrow. I've got a huge art supply store with a great stationary section literally two blocks from me. They had a fireblue liliput there last I checked. I agree they're spectacular looking and feel great but it's hard to bring myself to pay an extra $50 or whatever for ten seconds of torching. It also had the large nib iirc. I prefer a fine or medium. I guess that's high end pens though..
      Anyway, Happy new year!

    Question:
    I have a stainless steel Liliput. But my nib (a size B) feels heavy, squeaks lightly while writing and all in all feels like it has a wobble to it.
    Do you have a similar problem with your Liliput. And have you ever changed a nib on a Kaweco liliput and is there maybe a smoother one that would fit?
    But yes, I can see that it would be heavy. My liliput is heavyer than my Meisterstück Mont blanc.
    PS: I love the Kaweco red ink but I hate it's long dring time.

    • @HibikiKano
      @HibikiKano 8 лет назад

      Under pressure or when writing with a harder hand to bold the metal nib dances left and right across the plastic feed. I reccon yours don't do that?
      Will check if appelbloom holds those nibs and even ships to Slovenia (you can't believe how many international companies ship to the farthest corners of the world but not to a smaller country in EU)
      Also do you know of a lightly softer nib, I find that the Kaweco Broad for Liliput is a bit stiff at times despite it being a Broad.
      How do the new Kaweco gold nibs compare to the steel ones? (I only have an old Kaweco sport with a gold nib, the one that still covered most of the nib and you only see a shiny golden outline from the resin) And these two are worlds apart.
