I get so sad because my 32 year old son had some friends,but the last few years they have drifted away. My son has dabilitating mental health. He met a new friend while in hospital a few years ago. His new friend had the same rare mental health issues. It was lovely for my son. They helped each other. 3 years ago my son's new friend died from suicide. Since then my son has no friend and spends all his time alone. I know God has a plan for my son . I trust God. God bless all 🙏💖 God is good

Thank you Father Mike!
Ecclesiastes is by far my favourite book so far. It explains what is happening in society. People want more of everything whether it be money or power. I have very little in the way of belongings but a huge amount in my love of God. Thank you Fr Mike. I do pray for you and the Bible in. Year community.
Day 150..must have been amazing to witness the Glory of the Lord, in the form of a cloud.
Solomon truly did speak with wisdom. This sounds very familiar to David's prayer..it's too bad they didn't continue with this conduct!!
So true, that everytime has it's season..God will judge the righteous and the wicked..better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king..when you vow a vow to God, do not delay in paying it; for he has no pleasure in fools!
O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger,nor chasten me in your wrath..depart from me, all you workers of evil; for the Lord has heard my supplications.

Father Mike, I have read “The Journey” a Bible for seeking good and I thought I knew The Bible. I just realised that my understanding of The Bible was superficial and shallow. Thanks to you it all makes sense now! I understand with deeper understanding and what confused me now makes sense. I cannot thank you enough for the GIFT you give us all. Your courage to read all those seemingly uninteresting parts that I would skip actually were golden keys to clearer understanding. Wow! Incredible. I read Ecclesiastes 3 verses 1-9 for my brothers funeral last year in on February 4th, 2022.

Today’s reading in 1 Kings recounts the dedication of the temple. Solomon is telling the people that no matter where they are or their circumstances turn to the temple with their prayers & supplications because God has said this is where He’ll be for them. While God wasn’t there physically He assured them His attention was always on the temple & His people & His Glory cloud, the Shekinah, was there for them to see. Today we have something even better. We have the Real Presence of God in our tabernacles. We can turn to Him & commune with Him in a way new & more intimate than ever in history since the death, resurrection, & ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We can visit Him & keep Him company. We can become one with Him when we eat His flesh & drink His blood in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. God bless you all.🙏❤️ 5/26/2024

Goodness me Fr mike this reading today has sent me down another rabbit hole, I decided to google what happened to the manna and staff, well there are lots of theories out there, so then I decided to look in my concordance, well I can't find it!! the book that is. So that's another job I have just given myself😁
Anyway some say Jerimiah hid them before the destruction of Jerusalem 586 BC.
Others the Philistines took them out.
Someone came up with the theory that the manna and the rod represented the signs and wonders given during the wanderings, and given that they found the promised land and were at rest, they no longer needed to be in the ark.
Rev 2 v17 talks about the hidden manna.
All speculation granted, but none the less very interesting.
Ecclesiastes 4 v1 'A cord of three strands is not quickly broken' I am pretty sure I have heard this quoted at a wedding, i.e. bride, groom, and God, isn't that a lovely picture?

This reading really speaks to me. I am so moved by the words of the wise. I can see my life has been a pursuit of "what will make me happy?" I regret I didn't give my sons an anchor in God. I see them struggle with life and I worry that they do not have a way to feel the power of God. I pray that God will reach out to their hearts like he did to mine.
Something you touched on was how Incredible it is or would be to have one true friend that shares in your faith and love for God what a gift it is to have a friend that you can pray with and have conversations about our Lord Jesus with.
I pray nightly that my sweet, 15 year old daughter is led by God, her Guardian Angel to such a friend or friends.
In Jesus Name, I pray you provide her with such a person sooner than later.

God would reply to St. Gertrude that He would use whatever was offered to Him for the faithful departed, according to His inclination to show pardon & mercy.

Ecclesiastes 5: 10 Where there are great riches, there are also many to devour them. I had a full scholarship to attend a very exclusive private high school. I was around people with $20 million trust funds or even more. I had never been around such unhappy people. They were cynical because they couldn't trust an offer of friendship, because the person was probably after their money. Their parents had to worry about them being kidnapped for ransom.

Ecclesiastes, Ch. 3 brings back memories of "Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There Is a Season)", often abbreviated to "Turn! Turn! Turn!", is a song adapted entirely from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible (with the exception of the last line) and put to music by Pete Seeger in 1959!

My goodness there was a lot packed in here, I have never noticed the bit that says there was only the two tablets in the ark, I can't help but wonder what that means, thanks for pointing that out.
I am about three days ahead on these readings, and of course we have all heard of the school shooting in Texas, and the other one in a shopping area, So hard to know how to pray, but there are two Psalms that have been on my mind for a week or two
Psalm126 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Psalm 56 v8 Put my tears into your bottle.
These verse came into my mind as someone in church was praying about Ukraine, and also after these tragic shootings, It says to me that God sees all our tears that flow, and our prayers are never wasted, in times of distress He hears us, and the image of our tears in a bottle on a shelf in heaven appeals to me , stored and never forgotten.

Amen..! I had gotten through your ‘gift’ and realized I really wasn’t ‘present’..! (Oh, my… no pun intended..! LOL) Not good… so I went back to when I ‘remember’ hearing your words..! (And to paraphrase YOU..).. GOSH, WOW, Lord… did I ever need to hear that which I missed..! YOWZAH..! I almost missed THE BEST PART..! YIKES..! I am one of those who works, works, works.. but, I’m sure… like YOU… I love what I do, so it doesn’t FEEL like ‘work’..! (Parish Secretary)… I feel productive… and God knows, the work is never ending..! My husband died suddenly in October, 2021. Work has been pulling me through. I had the best Lent and Easter this year, due to a Parish priest who got me through it.. and the most blessed confession I have ever partaken..! I tell you, it IS the reason he was sent to my Parish. Are there any theories about what happened to the mana and Aaron’s staff?
I think that both are indicators for our savior. Mana, replaced and bettered as Jesus Christ, the bread of life. The staff of Aaron, the chief priest, was replaced by Jesus Christ , now, our chief priest. There is no need for the lesser.

What is the meaning of Fear, in the Bible, relating to "Fear God".
Fear of God is not what God might do, it is the the Fear of not knowing God and what He wants for us.
“Loving reverence”🙏
Fear of God is not to be afraid of God but realizing His awesomeness.
Check out Sirach 1: 11-20 and also Sirach 34: 13-17 for "Fear the Lord" passages in the Bible.

I need to stop weed
I’m glad the Holy Spirit led you to this conclusion on your own because I read your question a few days prior when you asked if smoking weed could be considered a burnt offering. I do not think so. I believe that anything that could alter your state of mind is incompatible with the way God wants to be worshipped.

I’m so sorry you went through all this. I will pray for you and please pray for me also. We all have our own “demons” that drive us away from God. But I see that your heart desires to get closer to the One source of Eternal Life. May I suggest you try to pray the rosary or divine mercy chapelet regularly. Prayer is a powerful tool in the spiritual warfare we’re all going through. Just know that you are not alone. We are all part of the body of Christ and when a part suffers, we all suffer. 💜
