    Great comparison. I really like how you choose the looks and theme of your shots. I'm sure you could make great shots with a cheep $2 point and shoot camera. I need to work on my editing game. Awesome video, came to pique my curiosity about the GFX 50S II, I shot Nikon on film (never medium format stuff) when I was younger, but got out of photography sold film camera... when I came back digital seemed so convenient. It was refreshing to see film comparisons and I enjoyed your edits. I'd like to see your home studio setup too as someone posted. (now to binge a few of your videos ) 😊

    Finally on the Fuji space and man oh man I’m loving. The colors are nostalgic to say the least. Hoping the auto focus issues get resolved, dare I say sell the r5 and get a medium format Fuji in addition to the xt4?

    Interesting seeing the nuances in color between GFX and 645. There are subtleties but like you said was probably due to it sitting in a drawer for 6+ months. I thought it was nice seeing how you transformed your apartment into a studio space, would you talk more about it in a future video?

    • @cammackey

    These are very close and I feel the same as you with the slightly larger film format having a bit more separation ( and it's so lovely). Look forward to seeing how it compares to the R5. I quickly shot with both the other week but didn't shoot long enough to properly compare.

    Great video, I use the GFX myself and love the film simulations. I shot every medium format mat system and I think I am the happiest with the Fuji system. Of course who wouldn't want the X2d , but let's talk reality. In my film days you couldn't beat the Roleiflex 3.5, just a little limiting. The negs were outrageous. The Pentax 6X7 and the RB67 those two were amazing, but you can't have it all. But you are hard pressed with digital. Thanks, great video.

  • @constantinslotty5309
    @constantinslotty5309 3 года назад

    Cool video, mate. I've also experimented a lot lately with the Fuji GFX vs. Pentax 67 lately and I found in a lot of situations both cameras really produce very similiar results (once you added a film look to the fuji image). IMO the biggest difference in the overall look between them is in outdoor situations with good lighting where I still prefer the Portra400 look of the Pentax.

      Hmmm I played with both GFX cameras and love the look of the 50MP images slightly more coming out of the camera. The missing PDAF is sad but also the lower refresh rate was an issue in dim lighting on the 50s compared to the 100s. Got a lot of moiré in the EVF on certain structures… outdoors in natural light no issues… 😮 Both are amazing cameras! 😊

    • @MojoPapiFPV

      @@Zlaja192 better and more accurate color rendition. It's the main reason to use MF. If it's just 14-bit like the 50MP, why bother with all the drawbacks of MF. You get it for color and potentially for being able to sync at 1/500 to 1/800 (with leaf lenses). The DoP is kind of nonsense. You're not going to get shallower than, for example, an 85mm f1.2 lens or 50 f.95 lens. And honestly who cares. A MF 80 2.8 lens is about a 50 1.4.

      Yup yup as I stated. When the 100 first came out they sent it to me. The AF is pretty darn good but since there’s so much glass it’s still not as snappy as the R5/Sony cameras but still 100% usable

    • @SimeonKolev
      @SimeonKolev 3 года назад

      @@cammackey well it is not only to the size of the glass ;). Check out Sony 135 1.8 GM or 50 1.2 GM - a lot of glass but the speed... and the other factor - sensor speed. Those 44x33 sensors are still pretty slow. 1-2 gens from now they will get up to the speed of the current 35mm sensors.

      @@SimeonKolev nah have you held GFX glass lol? Some of those lenses are freakin gigantic. I also don’t think most of them have as up to date focusing motor systems as well. But yeah fuji had to make the lenses cover medium format sensors so overall everything is going to be bigger vs 35mm sensor coverage. Like everything has to be doubled size wise. But agreed I’m sure in a few years fujis medium format cameras will be able to be just as snappy as full frame cameras. It’s crazy how far they’ve come alreadyb
