Great Bike!!! Hey! Some people are complaining that NX Chain get out of sync sometimes with Narrow-wide profile of NX Cassette on 1st and 2nd gear when they down shifts.
I bot it 8 m. ago (aprox 1.700€) in CZ. It was my definitely the most HT. Comfortable (with carbon seatpost 27,2mm) + very agile + cool features (smart thue axle, Ai...). I updated wheels from WTB to Fulcrum Red Passion 3 (1530g/set) = fantastic bike. For stop mud and wather into the frame, i used old tube around seatpost, it was ok. But than I tried xc-full: KTM Scarp elite 2019 ;-)
Couldn’t disagree more about the thru axle in the rear. I think it would be silly for any brand to bot have a thru axle in this day and age since it’s so much easier to fit correctly, easier to maintain, stiffer.. really no downside to it. The lack of thru axle was the only reason I got rid of my fsi 2017 and Im really glad to see Cannondale has woken up to this
Hi Daniel! Thanks for the review, I can tell you one of the reasons they change the quick release. I was owner of on fsi 2015 carbon 2, It worked very well, in 2017 I got the fsi 2107 carbon 4. The rear wheel drops off when It was on a explosive sprint and rear wheel was off, it didn't matter how tighted the quick realese was. Now, with these change, I don't think it could happen again
I've had a Superior XP969 2018 last year and its seat post was also flexing a lot. It ended up with a crack just above the seat clamp (although I was using the correct torque settings etc.). And it's been so flexy, that it was even getting a bit uncomfortable. Therefore for the new XP969 2019 I'm planning to change the seat post for an alloy one straight after getting the bike and don't want a bike with a very flexy seat post anymore (and doesn't matter how great will the system be).
You forgot to mention Boost standard and flat mount brakes. Also, the geo is different.

I directly upgraded the bike with Stan Crest MK3 wheels and it is like a rocket (I payed 200€ more to the shop). A lot of traction, very stable as well. I wish the bike had been more funny to ride. I confirm there is mud coming into the frame and some crackings; you need to clean it sometimes.

Hey, I think its not worth the price for the weight. I have a KTM ultra XL alloy frame which cost 1000 new, and with some modificatioms it weighs 12kg. But mine is 27'5 so, that could be a point. Also, trimming half a kilo is kind of expensive
A T1000 carbon XC hardtail racing frame is 400 dollars in 2019 and its easy to achieve sub 23lbs 29ers with top of the line drivetrains for 1,000 dollars. You are always paying for a name in 2019 if you paid more than that for a racing hardtail XC bike.

Hey Dannybthose rubber plugs in the frame are for the di2 option. Im not loving that axle design that a shame but the symmetrical dishing of the spokes is great.
Can you make a video (if you can get one) about the 2018 Cannondale F-SI HI - MOD TEAM?, I think that bike is one amazing bike, and one of the most beautiful bikes ever.
With Cannondale some of your money gets you a lifetime warranty on the frame, which to my knowledge is unique to them and very reassuring. Have had two (Taurine) frames replaced just because of slightly cracked paint on the frame near the rear brake mounts, no evidence of cracks in frames themselves. With many manufacturers, after one or two years you're on your own and good luck.
Many manufacturers offer lifetime warranty, Marin for example.
Don’t know about weight limit for the athlete, in Cannondales, many companies have limits. Santa Cruz offers life time and even for its lightest hardtail, doesn’t matter how heavy the athlete is.

SB you're great! This was an awesome review on a bike I have been studying for a while now. I have two Trail SLs (a 26er and a 29er) and dream about owning one of these new F-Sis. You said the seatpost flexes a lot due to the new design of the internal seatpost clamp, and makes a comfortable ride. I noticed that Cannondale no longer offers the SAVE seatposts on the new bikes, maybe because the new clamp design offers enough flex that SAVE is no longer needed? I wonder how that bike would ride if you put a SAVE seatpost on it. Do you think it would be smoother, or just a waste of energy? If you get one, you could put the SAVE seatpost from your 2017 F-Si on it and test it out. I'd love to know how that would work out.

Maybe you can do a 2do gen vs 3rd gen? I think they are pretty the same bike but with fox instead Reba, but you are the expert

Tell your friend to upgrade the wheel (2330g), seatpost (380g) and handlebar (340g).
Weight weenies just waste money.
I had this problem once in a carbon seat post. You just have clamped to to much. Just listen some and it will go away. It made upset when I heard it. Shop just released pressure and it was gone. Good luck and it works for you.

If the bike truly weighs 11,5 kg (w.o pedals) it weighs 100g more than my Trek Superfly 7 from 2015 in aluminium that cost me $1250 on sale. Think you pay way too much for the brand name and minor innovative solutions on the frame shown in the video. Wasn't carbonbikes supposed to be lighter?

Buy a bike like this and you have a problem: Cracks in the canote. Already passed the carbon grease, torque without screw according to specifications, but did not solve. Has anyone managed to solve? If you managed to give me a hello!!

Great bike, but overpriced. It has absolutely nothing that would persuade me to buy this instead of a Cube, Specialized, Canyon or what have you. For me, the Lefty 2.0 was and still is the main reason to buy a cannondale.

I'm in doubt if I should get this one or an Orbea Alma M50 eagle with 180 front brake with Reba too? Having a hard time choosing my 1st 29er bike and I want to buy it right. Size is XL. There is the Scale 940 but I put it out of the options because I had no reference about the fork Rockshox Judy silver that comes with it and it was more expensive here.

Cannondale make in China is no problem if is made right< i work in a company and they send some parts to China and the quality is better not because we can not make the same quality , is because it will cost to much mens hours for get the same quality and at the same time it can low the price to the customer ,I bougth today (2018) a Cannondale CAAD12 105 and i end pay 1100.00 , if the Cannondale is make the USA posible i will end paying 1800.00 dollar who knows
