Have a plumber do a smoke test, took me 5 years to find the problem- it was a 50 cent cap missing

What if there is no indoor drain pan! I live in a apartment and only when the heater kicks on I smell sewer. It’s sewer! Not some “ nasty gunk “

Check if a sewer vent pipe is INSIDE your return airstream if a plenum return
