I totally forgot to mention Chaya blocks! You can get them added to lots of different kinds of Chaya skates and since the plates and blocks are made at the same place they always fit super easy!
The Chaya blocks are pretty neat. They'll let you hold Royales better coz they have an angled side, unlike CIB and Discoblox are just flat. But it's all preferential.

Okay so 2 weeks ago I decided I wanted to learn to skate. I just got my skates a few days ago and today I tried it for the first time and it was terrifying lol. I was thinking so many times "What have I done.. This is embarrassing, I can't do this" then coming back and seeing Indy tear up the concrete so smoothly and easily..it restores my confidence.. Like I can't forget why I wanted to start doing this! Thank you for all you do, Indy!!

I just lucked out and got some cib sliders for 32 bucks because they are not making them anymore. I'm just a beginner but knew I wanted them anyway, so grabbed them for as I get more advanced. 😊 Also, Brunny makes some, I've seen some from Bont and suregrip too but I think they may need wax.
I noticed my Energy wheels felt like they had a gloss coat on them even when skating outdoors. During a search I found out about wheels and a break in period. I haven’t been able to find a lot of info on this though. Would you be able to make a video addressing this?
The glossy layer on wheels is the mold release that they cook into the urethane to keep it from getting stuck in the molds. It’ll wear away with the very first layer of your wheels after a few minutes of skating on rough ground.
I’m not a roller skater, I am a skateboarder (I mainly longboard to be exact). I still watch your videos though because I love your personality and charisma so much! Keep up the good work!
If you buy it from an off website I don't really know mine came from an off website for 2 days but I bought a helmet from moxie and my helmet took a week in a little bit with the worst kind of shipping I could get, but I have Moxie Beach bunnies that I bought from a place in Australia and got shipped to me in two day shipping for free so
Thanks for the shout out Jon Ortiz! @newyorkcitynative. I loved travelling with Jon in the late 90's and early 00's. We had a lot of fun and I drew plenty of inspiration from my blading family. This is a rad conversation about plate sliders! A couple of corrections though, I won 4 Munster Monster Masterships (World Cups) 1987,1988,1989, broke my leg in the finals of 1990 and came back in 1991. Also, I've always viewed plate slides differently than grinds. Since the term grind comes from skateboarding I apply that logic. Grinds are on the trucks and slides, like board slides, tail slides, nose slides, etc happen on the board, that is a separate thing. It is my opinion that these terms matter and are attached to the foundation that we are building from. Of course, everyone has their own opinion and that is ok.
I think that I've bought a size less for my CIB blocks. I say so because the plate reachs where it should get, but barely. Watching videos I've seen rollers with CIB's that keeps them more toward the front ... and yours seem to be more near the end of your skates (well, maybe it's just the image I've seen). So I've made my own plate for my CIB's in stainless steel and they are just in the middle. Well, I've only made one of them, it took me two hours. Tomorrow the other ;)
Ok so I'm don't know if this is a dumb question but I know you should have sliding blocks to slide but can you do it without them and do you need them for anything but grinding like just standing on the railing for a second or jumping off of the railing

So weird seeing people not wearing helmets. There are really strict laws where I live in regards to helmets. Get caught without one and you have a fine of 150-300. Been in place since the 90s I’m totally not saying that in a judgmental way. It’s just different that’s all. I live in a very hilly area that very unforgiving on skaters and bikers. I’m pretty new to this!

I actually have sliders built into my plates and it’s rlly cool, idk we’re I got them bc they were a gift. But now you know there out there
