Confidence is NOT: believing that I am just as good as anyone else in the room .. Confidence IS: not feeling the need to compare

💪🏼 I 100% agree with you brother. I didn’t really define what I believe confidence truly is in this video. In simple terms, I believe confidence means to have faith in yourself. Confidence comes from the root words “Confide” and “fidelity”

@@RealGunSlingers true you didn’t define confidence; I learned and agree completely with your word origin definition so tHank’s for sharing. I mention confidence because I feel like a lot of your respect philosophy seems comparative in nature, and I’m not sure it needs to be. I can’t MAKE someone else do anything; if I do MAKE them, then I don’t really want what they’re offering. I think ur right when u say that respect starts in my own head not theirs.

@@blairkinsman3477 Interesting. I am curious what comes across as comparing? Like the analogy with the different clippers. We are valued because of our differences. Every human is unique so you really can’t compare any 2 people. To your point, it’s actually not about making anyone do anything, just an edgy title for this topic. None of these principles entail forcing anyone to do anything. Anyways, I truly appreciate the feedback brother!

Likewise brother I always appreciate the videos that make me think .. this definitely does ..
as for what comes across comparative, let’s go with 1:33 “if you don’t have your body right then you’re not going to be confident when you are talking to other men” - so what’s RIGHT?
Body may (but not always) reflect how I feel about myself. It could also reflect priority decisions.
RIGHT is a social norm, which means a comparison.
Body is an outside visual vs other ideas which are not visual.
That’s how I heard it and that’s what I thought.

      @@RealGunSlingershere’s my 4:
      1) lead with my strength (doesn’t matter what it is)
      2) I act with no insistence on the outcome (anything else sounds corrupt or desperate)
      3) own my whole self (success and mistakes)
      4) I must be open to receive (it means we can work together)
My thoughts on it .. Wyt?

Gaining people’s respect and caring about whether people respect you or not is two different things.
