    Tom Farrell...rick wulhouter...3rd place 1968...1972...more lousy usa coaching!!!both were gold medal potential...like jim ryun!

      John Rogan Dave Wottle won gold in 1972 in Munich. Jim Ryun was not a big race runner. He won silver in Mexico City, beaten by Kip Keino. Keino won the ‘72 Olympics, too. Americans have dominated the sprints 100m-400m. Rick Wohlhuter won the bronze in ‘76 for 800m. Living up to his potential. We’ve never had the dominant middle distance runner. They seem to have come from Africa, NZ, England and Australia,
