I just found a Mojomojo at a shop in Central New York for $50. I thought it was used, but the gentleman behind the counter said "I'll be right back with the box." 😳 Whaa? I didn't know they were so affordable. It functions as a clean boost, EQ, transparent OD, and distortion!
Mojomo can sound like a non master volume cranked amp. There is no artificial fizz on decaying note like so many other pedals. I have a super sonic 22. To get a mild breakup on the clean channel it is way to loud for most situations especially at home. This pedal is the solution. To me it has that non-master volume cranked tweed sound with the gain turn up. It works well on the clean channel of an amp. Just set for that edge of breakup sound and then use a T. Screamer type mid boost pedal to push it into higher gain just as you would do the same into an amp on the edge of breakup. I find that the pedal has a lot of bass even at the noon position. I tend to cut the bass and raise the treble some trying to set the EQ to match my amp. I think it works well as a foundation pedal as if it's an amp itself and put other gain pedals before it. My 2 cents.
"I think it works well as a foundation pedal as if it's an amp itself and put other gain pedals before it. " I believe that's what Paul Gilbert does these days!
As I told you before, on the dark matter review: I've watched this one too, and loved. Probably gonna buy this one. TC can tank you latter for that. You review is long, but very organic, what helps a lot on choosing. The idea with the loop demo....you nailed!! Congrats again, all the way from Brasil!! By the way....just subscribed to your channel. One of the best reviewers I ever seen. Very practical. Cheers!
I bought one after watching this review (and several others). I really like this pedal's versatility especially paired with a guitar that has coil tapping - it gives me everything from slight overdrive with single coils to a creamy soft fuzzy distortion with humbuckers.
TC Electronic Right. GOT you! I thought you were related businesses. Thanks again! I love the TCH Harmony singer. BEST sounding vocal harmoniser on the market, afaic! Thanks again!
Your playing is fantastic, your sounds are fantastic, and you did a great job demoing the pedal's full range of sounds. My only gripe is: normal people don't have the super high-end custom gear that you have. Normal people play Strats, LPs and Teles through Fender and Marshall amps. OBVIOUSLY not everyone does, but a lot of people do. So it would have been nice to see some more common "gear of the people". Just a thought for future videos! Keep up the great work! Also maybe try some nice strong coffee before your next one. It'll mellow you out some.
TC seem to really think about how to build nice, musician friendly and practical pedals..it is all the small details they do...and all the pedals are really top notch..well done TC
Brother! Love this! I don't want to have to tell you to spend more money when you clearly have more than enough pedals, but I would LOVE to see more TC Electronics demos. Seeing a review on the Flashback Delay x4, Hypergravity, The Dreamscape, BodyRez, T2 Reverb and others would be great. You have an awesome style of doing demos. I love the order, the laid backness, the humor, the skill, the professionalism, the way you convey the information, just the whole thing. I love it all man! Haha. Great great review. Dark Matter is awesome also. Keep it coming!
OH. WOW. I've been watching your videos for a while now, but only with THIS video I realize that you are the guy behind Unweaving the Rainbow with LaBrie. I am a huge DT and remember when I ran out of home to get the Unweaving The Rainbow CD when it first came out. Hehehehe I even messaged you once and you heard something recorded of mine and made some sort of compliment on my guitar playing. HEY hehehehe I've just ordered Dark Matter pedal because of your review and only NOW I got to know that you are THAT guy. I am kind of happy now. :)
I have to agree with others. The demo song was fantastic, and as with your Dark Matter review, you have sold me on adding this pedal to my collection. Right now I have an Electro-Harmonix Soul Food running into the Dark Matter, and it sounds fantastic. I'm thinking of adding the Mojo in between. Not only to stack, but to give me another option. I mainly use my Soul Food to slightly dirty up my clean tone for funk grooves and such, but it also enhances my Dark Matter pedal by giving it that extra "something" which lifts it into an early 80's Judas Priest type of tone. I still need something that I can set up for a little more 70's Rock/Blues and less Metal type tone. That's why I want to get this, as well as shop around for a fuzz pedal. I like the settings on my Soul Food as is, so I need another OD pedal.
J.T. Bomar not what he means. He means boost the signal that’s driving the pedal. Not boosting the volume. He’s got the soul food right where it needs to be. Turns two pedals into three.
Enjoyed your vid! Like your sense of fun. And that pedal sounds great! It’s Xmas eve, and as I look to my left, I can see presents under our Xmas tree - one of them is a small box, wrapped up in blue paper - I know it’s a mojomojo pedal..... Can’t wait to fire it up tomorrow morning! Cheers from Edinburgh 👍
Very cool demo. I'd love to see you do a video on their Nova system. I'm looking at it as a poor guitarist that plays at home for the most part, but also plays out. I like pedals such as this, but putting together a pedal board with all the effects I might use in cover band songs, etc, would be expensive and hard to maintain compared to something such as the Nova System. I'm also looking at the Digitech RP500. They are both in the US about the same price and very affordable. Again, thanks for the great video's. I'll try to help spread the word! Great reviews man!
Guys which voicing position gives more bass frequencies? To my ears the up postition feels more bassy but i ve found this manual on internet and i think its wrong. The manual says"With the switch in "down" position, the low-end frequencies are naturally boosted".This doesnt feel right :/ MANUAL Voice Type selector Two Voice types are available. With the switch in "up" position, the frequency response is true to the input signal. With the switch in "down" position, the low-end frequencies are naturally boosted. This is excellentwhere the guitar is allowed to take up a great portion of the sonic spectrum. E.g. for rhythm guitar in a trio. Any opinion about it ????
@edemaximclub i ve found a wrong manual on internet that says the opposite.I copied and pasted the manual so it was wrong, i didn't read it wrong 😉 The manual that i ve found in the box is 100 % correct 😁
pieroog Their spark booster is perfect for that. The dip switch in the "mid" setting really works great, then you have the bass and treble knobs. It's awesome for a highly overdriven amp.
Brian Bowersox actually I do use Spark Booster (all time ON), but with a FAT settings which gives me an awesome rhythm for riffs on my HT-5. :) as of soloing buff-stuff, the GT-OD is my weapon of choice.
I like this (maybe because i'm danish). Check out EMMA Electronics (also a danish company). They have "the best envelope filter" and som other high quality pedals. EMMA, T-Rex, TC and Carl Martin are the only brands on my pedalboard.
Another great job- ya wacky German type mad genius! Just got this pedal myself; this, and the Paul Gilbert are the 2 best videos for this stellar pedal. PS Sad to see TC got absorbed into Beheringer (?!) hope that doesn't skank things up at one of the most innovative pedal builders since Boss.
I almost get the impression that you like coffee or something. Great tune by the way, very well produced. I may consider getting a little more mojo or java or both!
OMG @EytschPi42 you are the guitarist on the Unweaving The Rainbow album by Frameshift ?? I Funking love your Spiders song 🤘🤘 I have been trying to buy your CD for 12 years after hearing Spiders on some random prog/rock internet radio station in college while working on a project.
I'm currently using a Boss Blues Driver for overdrive effects but I need something less "bluesy" for rhytmic patterns. I was thinking about the MojoMojo but I hope they don't sound too similar, do they?
+charlie grant Thank you mate. I'm going to buy the MM and see what happens with the BD. I tried to play rhythm guitar with the BD, open chords and power chords but it still sounds too bluesy, I think it is more useful for vintage soloing. I need something with more flesh
I was in the same situation as you Marco so I went and picked up a MM today. Glad I did..great value also. The BD still has it's place but the MM is great for classic solos etc. It seems to put life in all my single coils guitars and in my signal chain. One other thing.... at practice/low volumes, I can roll back the volume on my guitar, activate the MM and it greatly improves the tone/sound. It's almost like having an attenuator on the amp.
+Dash Riprock and if it's good enough to be on Paul Gilbert's board...enough said! He loves the way it fattens up high single note stuff, adding body to soloing on the "dusty end" of the neck.
Hello. Just ordered that pedal about 30 minutes ago. Not because of your demo but because a few players on the Marshall forum were using them and gave this pedal 2 thumbs . Now honestly I found you did not " rave " about this pedal. It didn't knock your socks off now did it.? Lets just say it is a decent O/D pedal by e reputable company at a very, very good price point. Now onto my reason for this blurb. What is your all around favourite O/D pedal? Price aside, sponsorship aside. In your humble ( ok not so humble ) opinion what is the best O/D pedal you have ever used / tried / demoed.?
tough to say... the low gain side of the MP custom FX Gainiac is great... the KLON style thing is done perfectly by the Rockett Archer... I am having a great time right now with the Walrus Audio Overdrives... I wouldn't say there is ONE favorite. But you were right... the MojoMojo is good for the price, but it didn't totally flash me!
Hi there. My compliments for your video! I've an acoustic guitar that I use for unplugged concerts, but for some songs I need to simulate an electric guitar and I don't want to buy one. My question is: can I use MojoMojo for this purpose?
Maybe this response comes a year too late for you, but I just read a comment at ruclips.net/video/0Ir4umb-pec/видео.html that says the Mojomojo works very well with acoustic guitar. Surely nothing for purists, but with the bass and treble controls it ought to be possible to dial in the right amount of edge and grit - esp. if you have a magnetic soundhole pickup. I‘m going to buy one and try it with a piezo.
I just bought one and the light doesn't come on when I plug it in (first pedal) do I need to replace the battery or buy a 9-volt power supply to make it work? plz help!

TC Electronic ARE you the same as TC Helicon?
***** No. TC-Helicon is our sister company. They specialize in effects for the singing musician.
TC Electronic

homeslice1479 TC Mojo Mojo or Tube Screamer? In your opinion, which is better?
francisjrn01 that always depends on the amp and guitar you use as well as what you need them to do as they can serve diverse functions.

I bet the MojoMojo and Dark Matter sound great together. Kinda like the peanut butter and jelly of overdrive and distortion pedals.
Great review. Extremely thorough, will be subscribing for sure.
I was hoping to see this one as a booster for a highly over driven amp. What would be your opinion on this kind of usage of MojoMojo?
probably works nicely!

Jason Pitre One can only hope...
I dont´t think you are right about that.
Great demo, I love this pedal
I almost get the impression that you like coffee or something. Great tune by the way, very well produced. I may consider getting a little more mojo or java or both!
this demo with loop is awesome!
Nice review! I've watched your loop switcher videos as well and they are very helpful. What's the "OCS 4" unit on the board directly behind you?
stiflersmomz It is the GSC4 from G-Lab.... insanely cool looper... there are several videos already on my channel, just search for them...
Would you suggest this pedal or the DOD Looking Glass? What are the similarities and differences in your opinion?
OMG @EytschPi42 you are the guitarist on the Unweaving The Rainbow album by Frameshift ??
I Funking love your Spiders song 🤘🤘

thanks Bob... but I don't want a job, I just want to review more TC gear for you guys, that's all!
50 bucks in US, standard price with no sale. Good stuff.
Hi there. My compliments for your video! I've an acoustic guitar that I use for unplugged concerts, but for some songs I need to simulate an electric guitar and I don't want to buy one. My question is: can I use MojoMojo for this purpose?
Alessandro Fantino no
you would have to buy a electric guitar simulator pedal and then a overdrive

How do u use a looper and then tweek the sound of the Mojomojo? u use the looper before the Mojomojo? Great demos has usual :)
My basic go to Subtle OD. If I am going to get dirty though I go to my Empress Multi!
Verry nice ! But on what ae you recorded and what guitar is it ? And wonderful that delay !! Thanks !
Andy Penda yes
Also, if your looking to donate that killer Carl Martin amp to a worthy cause I'll send someone by
I just bought one and the light doesn't come on when I plug it in (first pedal) do I need to replace the battery or buy a 9-volt power supply to make it work? plz help!
as far as I remember, they don't come with a battery, so yes, you'll have to put one in.... getting a power supply is a good idea in the long run!
+EytschPi42 ah thanks so much!
TC Electronic You heard the man!
could you make a comparison between the mojomojo vs morning glory?
where is this room I am planning a hiest!
First you have to swim the moat with the alligators and then get through the electric fence and past the 10 dobermans.. Best of luck! :)
Very excited my shipment come to my hand.... yahoooooo...
Great review 👍
Nice song bro, is that you singing?
take a look at the rottweiler distortion from TC! it's an absolute beast!!
it emulates the sound of a Fender 57 Tweed amp
great tune man!!!
anyone here appreciating the thumbnail idea? I certainly do.
Hey Herring! That MojoMojo is one bad Mofo!!!
Is it analogous?
NAME OF SONG PLEASE :D ? thanks
I can send you my Flashback if you send me your Timeline... xD
haha... you are a funny man!
EytschPi42 Jokes apart, Tc makes awesome stuff! The Flashback is really awesome! But I'm a bit disappointed about Corona Chorus and Vortex Flanger
EytschPi42 hey will you be able to do the tc electronic nova system and see if it's worth it?
I am not, but I didn´t like the Pipeline. The compressor is amazing.
Henning Pauly rules
Nice song.
is it just me or have you noticed how "most" of these demo's fail to mention what pickups they have and to some extent what amps they're using? some ppl have only a limited computer sound(like, silly little speakers :( , so it's not a very good sound) i have both the T.C pedals, being the mojo and dark matter going thru a blackstar soloist using a "deluxe" strat and a tribute(70's)firebird and i'm not really impressed with either pedals, but that's just me, imo, they're overated
Ganz ehrlich, worttechnisch gesehen, ist "Mittenrastung" viel präziser als "notch"!
just and awesome od
Split ??
I know this guy named gabe johnson he played one of these pedals and literally shit his ass on the chair at the store and everyone laughed at him and he got kicked out and had to walk 5 miles home with shit in his pants
Tc electronic 's, goods, great 👍...products for beginners to expert
WHERE CAN I GET THIS SONG!!!!!!!
haha, nowhere... it is from the second CAMPAIGN LIKE CLOCKWORK album, which is not finished.
DUDE!!! I love your stuff!!! I watch your videos 24/7!!! literally...24/7! Finish those albums man and be a rock star!!! lol
thanks man... that means a lot....
I have 4 albums finished that are just sitting on my hard drive...
Done the rockstar thing... not for me... I'd rather do demos on RUclips... you can buy a package of 13 of my albums on www.therecordlabel.net for only 59 dollars
Fantastic song, Henning.
I like to lick sticks of butter in my spare time
I got one off amazon for $31 woot.
👏👏👏👍!!! 🤝👋
You're a funny guy.
Why all the production to demo a fucking overdrive pedal? I do like the pedal LOL
Que majo pero que cansao que eres. el pedal es bueno, barato y bonito las tres, bbb
Maybe annexe Denmark???? Ho ho!!
skip to 12:50 for demo
