A full 1080 P HD 60 FPS video of The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic show at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Since the new Rivers of Light show wasn't ready for the summer of 2016, Disney quickly put this show together based on the live action The Jungle Book movie. This was recorded on May 27 during the first public performance soft opening. It appears the water screen projections may not have been working properly. The show will be performed each night during its run as part of the new nighttime hours at the Walt Disney World park.
Attractions Magazine covers all the best theme parks and attractions. Don't miss our weekly shows here on RUclips almost every day - Our featured show is "Attractions Magazine - The Show"! Look for a brand new episode each Thursday morning.

Having personally worked on this project from inception to live show, i must say it was quite an endeavor(and world record achievement imo) . We literally had to come up with a show to replace Rivers of Life at Animal Kingdom, temporarily due to technical difficulties. The staff, management and talent worked 24/7 with constant overnight FULL dress rehearsals to produce a show in LESS than a month!!!!! 👀👀👀 Now think about that for a second...... A full show...dancers....singers...musicans/drummers(same thing imo)......fountain projection...motorized water barges....fire performers......pyrotechnics......barge drivers/barge riders to protect the safety of the performers riding on the barges to the water born stages.... choreography.....Audio Engineers......Lighting Engineers.....Show Directors.....and many angry animals around the park that had to deal with overnight rehearsals. Mind you: It was 100+ degrees, 100 percent humidity and CONSTANT rain and thunderstorms amidst all of the preproduction and live production. Again, quite an achievement. Having literally been in the direct middle of this show during performance, and seeing the crowds reaction first hand from the water, it brings a tear to my eye every time to to know how much pain, sweat, blood, sacrifice and sheer determination to produce a Disney worthy show had to happen in order to achieve such a magical show amidst every formidable obstacle, including mother nature herself. If you didnt enjoy the show, please know we did everything in our power and will to produce something worth the money and time. With the time allowed to produce a show in such a short time, i challenge anyone to try and do what we did as a team. I am Graham Hicks(Entertainment Technician at Disney)....and will always be apart of the "Wolf Pack."

What's with all the hate? I think this is a great show. It was its first run so yeah there's bound to be issues but still

This show is amazing. AK can't produce a conventional pyrotechnics show like the other parks. If people need all that razzmatazz they can go to the other 3 parks. This show fits perfectly with it's park.

There's stuff going on behind the scenes y'all don't know about. There's a reason they advertised a show called "Rivers of LIght," but that's not what this one is called. Can't say more than that.

So the Rivers of light is based on a new Jungle Book 2016 film? I was expecting for it to be part of Avatarland. That was unexpected.

This isn't rivers. Rivers was delayed, this is placeholder.

Very underwhelming. I was bummed that I wouldn't be able to see this show because I vacationed at Disney just last week, but after seeing this I'm just hoping they end up adding something more substantial. As it stands, this might easily be the worst of the 4 parks' closing shows. The water feature needs to be incorporated more as well as executed better. The performers look almost lost. No young child will just sit and watch this and remain engaged. After seeing the water projection, there are simply no "Wow" moments. This amazing venue and opportunity to expand Animal Kingdom into a nighttime park appears to be wasted here.
I love Disney, and this show does not live up to the "Disney Standard."

I know that they were hurting because Rivers or Light was delayed for the summer but upon seeing this I wonder if they might have just been better off to not do anything at all for the summer on the water rather then this cobbled together show. Put all the night focus on the far superior Tree of Life Awakening performances. The money that they likely poured into this for the unique costumes, props, rehearsal time etc, could have gone towards perhaps fixing River's issues a little faster. For a Jungle Book themed show, there is very little recognizable CLASSIC Jungle Book songs. As someone else said, sure, promoting the new movie but when I heard "Disney" and "Jungle Book" the instrumental score of the new movie is NOT what I think of. It takes them almost 10 minutes just to get to the first really well known Jungle Book song. Sigh.... it just all looks very rushed to be thrown up on the stage. Hopefully River will be up and running by my trip in September.

I just saw this today and it was the second showing ever and the water projections were awful, you couldn't even tell what you were suppose to be looking at. The dancers were cool though.

I'm a Disney fan! But this show sucks! I can't imagine waiting in line for an hour or more to watch 25 minutes of crap. No realspecial effects (the water images are sooo poor!) and lights are so dark! Only characters are dancers doin the same moves for 25 mins??? Disney, step it up!

I don't get this constant "slavish devotion" to Rudyard Kipling every time Disney do a new Jungle Book project (either movie, theater show or theme park attraction). Are we attending a "library" event here or are we trying to re-create a fabulous "movie" experience? Kids don't want to see traditional Indian dancers and cultures! They want Baloo! They want Kaa! They want King Louie and the colorful world they know and love! Disney have presently got one of the biggest films in the world right now with Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book....and this is how they choose to personally represent this triumph? It deserved better imagination than this slapdash production.

While I do think they need characters or barges with characters on them to make it more Disney, I think Indian Dancers are a cool touch. They are showing us other cultures and basically educating us on a different part of the world, which is what Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney in general always does. Educate it's guest, even without some knowing.

I agree, I wouldn't mind this show if it was in an Epcot pavilion but for animal kingdom they should have added the characters from the original animated movie !!!

    • @orangeryan4148
      @orangeryan4148 8 лет назад

Exactly. They need barges with the characters. Even if they are promoting this movie, they should have barges with these specific characters.

Whilst I can appreciate the cultural weight of this performance, I do not think that this is something that will stick around for long. Yet another failed attempt at selling more of the current Jungle Book Franchise I really disliked the fact that they did not make any effort to bring out any of the old movie flair to this performance. Kudos to the performers but the act as a whole is boring and overly rehearsed. Question, what happened to Rivers of Light?

They couldn't do any fireworks at Disney's Animal Kingdom due to the loud noises scaring the animals. Plus what if a spark never went out in time and landed on a plant and caught fire? So yes, no fireworks for Animal Kingdom.

25:26 has low-height, I'm guessing mines, from the 6 spires. So they can use small effects.
