A few months back, I would have posted a snarky comment on this video, calling it pretentious and over-priced crap. But after some experience with McIntosh, I have come to the conclusion that its a solid company that builds high quality products and stands behind their brand 100%. But above all, its a "value" product!! .......... I realize the terms "McIntosh" and "value" are rarely used in the same sentence.. but in my research I have found that the depreciation on Mac products is among the lowest in the industry. Some of the amp models like the MC-302/402/452 are in high demand always ; if you bought it used, and took good care of your gear, you are almost certain to recover 100% of your investment. That's amazing value imho! Especially since us Audiophiles always itch for an upgrade every couple years :)

I find it interesting that they use a subwoofer system with the top of the line 2.1K speakers being fed 2,000 watts. You'd think at the close to or 6-figure price those speakers would produce more than sufficient BASS for home theater use. McIntosh can still display the subwoofer system with smaller speakers that may need more help with bass.
This system doesn't need help with bass at all. The 2.1K speakers have more than enough bass to pressurize this massive room. I am running the speakers full range and still sending LFE to all 4 subs along with routing bass and LFE from other speakers which I am not running at full range to the subs. The subs are not only about the LCR :) When listening in stereo I am not using the subs, I can but normally don't. But also, having 4 subs on top of very excellent speakers is bad ass. How many have ever complained about more of a really good thing. Cheers Mark!
