Besides mantainance as a collectible F1 we must add the whole racing package as like as transportation,insurance,repairs,spare parts,tyres and a lot of possible events linked to racing. To be remarked that these guys can actually drive....differently from those spoiled brats being recorded revving their supercars...while entering a parking lot.

As F1 is set to go to carbon neutral synthetic fuel (made by combining hydrogen and carbon atoms using renewable energy into 4he hydro carbon chain of your choice) by I think by 2025 and certainly by 2030, let's ditch the hybrid and make F1 into a cathedral for the internal combustion engine with the formula requiring 3 litre 60 degree V12s.
as a late millenial early gen z i guarantee its not really our fault since the ones who are ruining f1 are the ones running the show whom are either boomers or gen x.
@shredderkrang I suppose it would if they thought they could get a return on their investment. But I don't buy the idea that the pinnacle of technology is reciprocating engines. In a lot of cases that's now old and hybrids and KERS are much more technologically advanced.

Cosworth DFV? Matra sound good but the DFV takes the cake for me.

1978-1982... what an era that was. The golden age of F1 for me. I stopped watching after that. Went over to Group C instead. Another golden age.
