What other suggestions do you have for improvement?
sell them so i can buy them
Suspension would be cool. I’m not sure if these have a grind pad, but that would be epic too
some other battery system. Even if the batteries dont last as long it would be cool to see some type of lighter form factor
Have you experimented with a front wheel drive design? I have always felt that this would feel more natural than rear wheel drive on electric skateboards and similar evs
You would need a harmonic pin ring motor to get the right torque needed to make them Air Gears. Although the added weight would definitely require suspension. Because of weight distribution the rear wheel would be the smartest with a more powerful setup, anytime you move your weight has to be on your heel anyway. The ones used currently in trek e-bikes feel natural compensating for human mechanics. Splitting the load between two alternating strides may work in our favor ultimately if it's possible to scale down at all.
Dude this is next level DIY. As a skier....electric inline is something that sounds ultra dreamy. Way more than scooter or bike.
Glad you liked it! It feels a lot like skiing when going downhill sometimes 😄
Every video you get one step closer to making legit airgears lmfao I love it dude
HEY THAT'S ME 0:06 !
So glad to see you tried this out and it worked so wonderfully!
Now time to look for investors and turn these into a product haha, I think a lot of VCs would jump at the chance to invest in this if you pitched it as the next "boosted board".
Anyways, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks, @invertexyz! Appreciate the feedback and support!
dope! like real life ats
It's been 7 months, we need an update, love from skaters x
WOOO he uploaded! :) I love your vids they're so polished and well put together for such a new channel, and I hope there's more to come. Best of luck!
Thanks for the love! There is more to come for sure!
Can't wait to see them!@@collinbardini
This only has 90 likes for some insane reason.
I love what you’re doing
Thanks!
now we need an offrad version! Offroad rollerblades are too inefficient to go from one place to another.... It would be nice if you could solve the tedious part of going uphill :')
This seems really doable with my current tech and some slightly bigger frames! I will probably try this out in the future so I can go on dirt paths
Come on, man! Uphill is the best part! Feel the burn!!!!
Dude this is so cool!
Can you ever post a parts list of your builds? We want to make these.
Thanks for the interest! I want to release them someday, but I’m not sure how yet. I have been thinking about doing a Kickstarter to sell kits and possibly open sourcing the hardware.
Definitely being reminded of Escend (with the two wheeled arrangement) and AtmosGear (with your powering of each blade with the pack and wires to each leg). 😉
It's nice to see you able to flow in some way without power, plus slot in regular wheels like normal inlines too!
I want some!
hey, nice build!
love that you could get a very low resistance even using belts.
question though: did the gear on the side of the wheel scraped the floor? I see the you made a very thin gear so itmay not be a problem, so I was just wondering what was your experience.
Thanks! The pulley was a large consideration for this design because I was concerned about it contacting the ground. I am pleased to say it has not been a problem. The skates can get to a 30 degree angle before contacting the ground. Additionally, the pulley is on the outside because I tend to make tighter inside turns.
You're going places, man
The real important thing is: can they help assist in the awful experience of going uphill?
Yes! They make it very easy to go uphill!
@@collinbardini okay that’s actually a total game changer. If you can pull this off, in-line skating will never be the same. Absolutely godlike.
Those look so fun!
This is awesome!! I'm happy you still working on this project, did having belts had an impact on battery life?
Thanks! I’m not sure about the battery life. It’s difficult to directly compare the two without collecting a lot more data. Belts are usually much more efficient than chain, though
I would like a pair of these, please and thank you in advance.
I would fall down. Then I would need to heal.
Nice project, the belts are a great improvement! Do the motors allow for regenerative braking?
Thanks and yes the motors allow for regenerative braking!
how bout a self-packing & deploying parasail you can wear with these on to glide over obstacles
How about man-powered or foot-powered plane for next-project ?
would putting another motor to drive the front wheel be something doable?
This would be technically possible, but I don’t think there would be much benefit. You would get more torque, but there would be twice as much hardware, which would be heavier and cost more.
would there be any possible way to take the energy from fakie/backwards skating and use it to recharge the battery while you move backwards?
This was something I was thinking of... Using the actual man power to charge the battery. Kinda like taking your foot off the accelerator in a hybrid car and it goes "green/eco mode" to charge the battery
This is definitely possible! The skates have regenerative breaking right now so you would just lay on the breaks as you skate. Regenerative breaking isn’t very efficient (maybe 10%) so you won’t get a lot out of it, but it’s better than nothing! Going downhill is where it makes the most sense imo
WANT!!
QAQ
i may be crazy but i want to seem them go 35mph
I think it might be doable! A little scary, but would be fun!
Can i buy it from you , I mean parts 😄
Dude how much to make me a pair
