Was there that night. Great memories.
Took 90 minutes to get out of the parking lot...still worth it.

What a great time in my life and a great team to watch in the fall of 91.

Far cry from the 1989 Holiday Bowl

Sacca was running for his life. State needed to go to the shotgun.

Why bother with quarterback. Just run it.

Ty Detmer's WORST game ever! BYU doesn't deserve to play on the same field as Penn State. They can't tackle; my sister can tackle better than the BYU wimps.

Actually BYU hung in there pretty well. Their constant turnovers did them in, and yes, Detmar was harassed into one of his worst games. But their defense was ok: 10-7 into the 3rd quarter. Also the "Wimps" hung a pretty good licking on PSU one year later out in Utah. As a PSU fan I say: Never denigrate the opponent. They can jump up and bite you.

Didn’t BYU beat Penn State the next year in Provo? Pretty sure LaVell Edwards and Coach Paterno were good friends and had great respect for each other
