The Universe is a dark forest full of hunters ready to shoot at the first sight of light or motion near them. Humanity is a young child that made a bonfire and screamed “hear I am!” with not a weapon worth its weight...

I hesitate to tell the universe what is "impossible"
This reminds me of "Death's End" by Liu Cixin, where aliens were casually exterminating planetary systems by either shooting a relativistic "photoid" at the star or a device that looked like sheet of paper but upon unfolding itself it reduced the whole system from 3D to 2D, killing everything. The most insulting part of it though, was the fact that these exterminations were performed by the lowest ranking member of their society and was supposed to be very cheap. So basically a space janitor was erasing civilizations with a filthy mop & bucket. Terrifying stuff.
three body problem is terrifying indeed
When destruction of entire star systems becomes that easy, there is no need for pomp and circumstance.
Sounds super interesting thanks for the recommendation😮😮😮 😊
“The Quiet Sky” is the best and most horrifying Sci-fi creepypasta and is quite similar to this story where naive humans send out signals to space only to attract the attention of a horrifying cosmic entity.
It’s where the Reapers are and we have no Commander Shepherd. Looks like we won’t be able to “bang, okay.” :-(
At least you know there are no heros, you need millions of people all working to survive with solid leadership to win. Sure there will be acts of unprecedented Valor by individuals but to win you need millions seeking the same objectives.
As excellent as always. I do love me some cosmic horror.
If the void is 700 million light years away and the darkness spread at 5 million light years a minute wouldn’t it get to the solar system in 140 minutes and not 1 year?
Same in beginning He says we can just see up to lightspeed ..but then the void expanding more fast then light and they can see..its not very logical Story..but entertainment for sure❤
It would still take a long time to get here not a yr because that would be would be inconceivable. Light speed is really the speed of information and causality. The question is when was the message sent.
This is my first time on your channel and I have to say! Wow!!(pun intended). Loved the narration and the story. And that "Goodbye" at the end, brilliant!
Welcome! So glad you enjoyed 👾
I see what you did there.
I just realized this is a sequel to "Stationed on the Moon since 1988"! Well, I think that was the name of it. This is AWESOME!
💙❤💜
Finally you are back with a new story Woop 🙌
Sounds like my preemptive cancer plan. Excellent dictation and story sir.
You Good Sir know how to make a mundane Monday morning a little better. Thanks for another awesome narration
Another great one, Mag 🦾
Was für eine tolle Geschichte/ What a great Story ! 😊
I stare at this area a lot, I don't know why. When it's up, that is.
I don't know, I think I'd wanna stick around and watch the show, do whatever I could as far as life goes, it could be beautiful with like minded people.
Thanks Magnetar 👾
Really enjoyed this one
Good one!! Spooky dude
Thanks. I always enjoy your offerings.
Oblivion cave soundtrack is the perfect ambiance. Nice
Damn, I can't believe I missed this when it was first uploaded earlier today 😔
Why does it matter when you listened to it? As long as you did then that is all that should matter. What's with the pouty face?...lol!
There isn't a point in covering it up like this people will see it in the sky with telescopes pretty quickly.
That is how the government does things. Whether it be aliens, a plague or zombies, the government will cover it up to "protect the people," which normally leads to said people dying.
It is a staple of fiction.
@@Michael_Breiter Very true, I wasn't annoyed by it or anything in the story.
But the problem here is that they can't cover it up if they can see stars disappearing in real time which should be impossible with how light works, people will notice.
@@erikmckoul2478 I never accused the government of being smart. Quite frankly, I cheer every time governments fall in apocalypse stories because they deserve no less for screwing over humanity.
@@Michael_Breiter Humans will always form some kind of government most likely, even tribes had leaders.
@@erikmckoul2478 actually, government is just a mega tribal council and elder thing. Humanity, no matter how advanced we think ourselves, are a very tribal race. There are dozens, hundreds of examples in the world proving this.
This story was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very nice :) !
Lights out
What do you want to bet that the story was written before the author did more detailed research, hence the "tacked on" feel of the part where the story claims the cover-up... This is why I never ended up writing the myriad stories I've started: the scientific understanding changes rapidly, and my stories are rendered obsolete before they are finished.
Dam that was good 😊
What doesn't make any sense is how the scientists know that signal comes from Boötes Void.
The signals come from a point on the sky: IOW: you know only two coordinates, latitude and longitude (or on astronomers language, Ra/Dec).
Generally in astronomy, you don't immediately know the distance!
For solar system objects, observations within several hours or days reveal that object is moving laterally.
For nearby stars, the same can be detected in several years (proper motion, parallax).
For extragalactic objects, the lateral motion is undetectable and distance must be inferred by other means: "standard candles", redshift, etc. NONE of these methods would work for unknown, possibly artificial signal. So, scientists COULD NOT conclude that signal comes from the Boötes Void. It only comes "from the direction of Boötes Void", and there are millions of foreground objects (stars, galaxies, alien spy satellites in our Oort cloud ;) which can emit it, because Boötes Void is good several degrees in size on the sky (much larger than the Moon).
The author of the story clearly does not realize this detail
This is why "scientists" in his story somehow immediately know "it's from Boötes Void!!!".
Sad.
Thanks Obama
Iron Lung Lore
And when it arrives all Earth can hear is Mariah Carey - All I want for Christmas is you.
A global rendition of that song is more terrifying than any creepypasta out there YIKES!!!
Out of all the creepy pasta posing/or being true, for some reason idk if it's the sequence of words the poster used, the way you narrated it, the lack of immediate detail at any point in that story or all of thee above but the skeptical "rational" part of my mind is scrambling for reasons this is false. Of course it is right all the amateur astrologists looking into the sky, they would tell us.. right?
Neil Tyson is in RUclips short. Summarizing the Netflix movie "don't look up" with di'caprio. Then looks at the camera like 🤨 and it ends.
I want to believe he would tell us... Idk why I can't
👽 ❤🚀
You know, logically, if something was traveling faster than light you wouldn't see it until it was already there, traveling faster than light doesn't mean you will see what is happening or disappearing in almost live time, that light was a stream that has been traveling since the dawn of time, if something started traveling faster than light then maybe the light around it would be eaten on it way to you but from your perspective on earth you would see the bootes void as you know it and the image would not change from your perspective until the wave is upon you, if it travels faster than light you would see the image in the distance as it's always been, that instantly with no transition it becomes whatever awaits.
Any one of these creepypasta could be true, exaggerated? Yes, but there are so many that...perhaps.
Goodbye
Ya know even though it's a creepypasta and hardly the place to mention this, why is it hard for people to understand that what *laws* are to us, may just be our way of understanding things. Black holes break the laws of physics yet we still go on as if the laws aren't broken by the known cosmos all the time. Things that may be impossible for us to understand doesn't equate to being impossible to occur.
Black holes don't break anything. In fact - they were predicted to exist based on out understanding of the laws of nature, through General Theory of Relativity, nearly a century before we actually managed to make a picture of one.
Yeah, the "laws" of reality change over time as humanity assaults them in every conceivable way. And now we're teaching our AI children to act like stubborn humans just in time for a huge quantum computing boost to their neural networks.. many laws will likely be demoted to mere suggestions in the near future ;P
Talking about Sci-Fi creepypasta, I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream comes in my mind even how old it is
1:35 Nothing? Not quite. It is VERY big, and has very few stars in it, but it is not "empty". When compared to the rest of the universe it looks barren, but the story would have been better with a more accurate basis for the fantasy.
5:00 Thanks, Obama!!
Is this y I had to say?
Hey we got your message sorry it took us almost 28,000,000 years to get here who are you you called us yeah we were trying to reach you about your spaceships extended warranty
I always thought Obama was going to destroy the universe.
is this fr?
almost!
would have been better if you had not used such outrageous nonsense about ftl...
Me? You know this isn't my story, right?
@@MagnetarYT oh yes,...i am quite aware it is a fictitious story. my point was that with the increased popularity of hard sci-fi and actual science short vids, the sci fi piece you read would have been better if the 'suspension of belief' required in the genre was not so overwhelmingly vast. truly engaging sci fi is stories that only require one small suspension of the laws of physics instead of comepletely overwhelming flights of fancy.
Lol you’re ridiculous Benson.
@Etherghost sorry, but once you have been exposed to competent hard sci fi authors, stuff like this is feels like grade school school level stories at best...maybe it's ok for someone who doesn't do much reading i guess...
@@williambenson1477 I’ve read competent hard sci fi authors, there are better stories, I guess I just don’t hate fun and i don’t take my entertainment so seriously. I can overlook a stories flaws to find underlying themes enjoyable. Creepy pasta is something I enjoy because of the amateur nature of the author. Not every author can be CiXin, but that adds more enjoyment not less, as I view things like certain mistakes to mean we may be reading an unreliable narrator, adding to the mystery of a story and deepening the narrative themes. Some of the best stories I’ve heard were Creepypasta. The writing and little mistakes don’t bother me. Here, the presentation of a mysterious force that defies the understanding of Earth science and the profound horror of such a realization breaking someone’s mind was quite effective. The sci fi setting is secondary to those themes in this instance. At least imo, and trust me, my taste is quite varied and solidly grounded in many incredible authors of all genres. Lighten up on the critical part of your mind and enjoyment opens itself to you in ways you may find to be profoundly life changing.
Of course it was president Obama that gave the go ahead. That's why I vote conservative.
