What a cool guy. So friendly and down to Earth, and he knows what he's talking about
Morgan will blow your mind live- that dude is an animal. I had no idea he was suffering physically from all the explosive live shows 7d does. If you've never seen 7d live-believe me when I say that they are one of the best live bands you'll ever see (extremely high energy and Very loud). You really can't have more fun for the same amount of money a ticket to their show costs-it's a blast. As far as skill-Morgan's got to be one of the best rock/metal drummers of this era by far. I think he owns most of these other dudes out here tbh.
I'm with Morgan here. I buy all of my cds by my favorite bands and still sit down and open up the album jackets and read everything in them while I listen to the music. it draws you closer to the artist and their craft. I never buy music digitally, do I convert it? of course, but I always buy the CD.
I also feel him because I play in a band called Order of the Dead as well and we'd love to tour and sign to a label but we can't afford to. If you don't play mainstream music you can't even afford the gas to drive to your shows out of state.. that's just the way it is in 2015.
Speaking of which their pre-order is up and it's 40 bucks for a shirt and autographed CD by them. So worth it, I know I got mine.
All the guys from 7D are just good dudes. Really amazing that's why they are still putting out, not just music, but great music today. The chemistry is real
probably one of the realest drummers out there
Dude Morgan is my favorite drummer I've been waiting for an interview like this from him for a long time, this rocks
I don't know why I haven't seen this interview sooner, but so glad I did. I really appreciate his honesty about his life and the music business. I first saw Sevendust perform 2 years prior to this interview and was blown away. I then got to drum next to him with the Seahawks drumline the same day. Morgan changed how I played the drums from that moment on. He is my favorite drummer, and I have seen a lot, in person! Thanks to Vater and Morgan for their part in inspiring the drumming community.
Greatest band, best drummer, amazing person, hell of a guy!!!
Right on brother
This video almost had me in tears man. Hearing about how his style is taking its toll on his body etc. Morgan is my FAVORITE drummer to watch but i never knew he was suffering, or will suffer in the long run because of it. My admiration for him has grown 100x because here is a man who gives EVERYTHING for his passion. That is pure dedication not many people have. And on top of all that (and probably because of all that), he's remained grounded and humble. An inspiration for everyone.
I would like to know also. I've seen a very short clip I'm thinking of this same show on the official Sevendust RUclips Channel.
I remember being behind Morgan while playing live a few times but that was like 8 years ago. He's so much better live now than before.
when he's talkin about everyone a rock star and no one a rockstar, thats right. love RUclips. it's great to know that real talent can be shown worldwide even if its just some kid who cant afford to be promoted by millions of dollars. yes it's sad for a band like them to not make the millions that some before had made, but its great that all talent can get a little more equal opportunity now.
you cant take the pee out of the pool... you are a nut on the skins. You and yours give a ton of folks inspiration. please keep it up
I feel that feeling all the time Morgan. I'm 21 years old and I grew up going to stores and buying cds and learning everything I could learn about the bands I liked. I think the music industry has killed itself in a way with all the accessibility that people have to get music. Nobody buys albums because they can just download shit off of Itunes.
YES!!! Great Video!!!
Incredible!
One of the realest mother fuckers/incredible drummers I've ever seen. You can see how much he progressed from beginning of 7D to now, and its just getting better \m/
well spoken person
a 360 deal is a business relationship between an artist and a music industry company. The company agrees to provide financial support for the artist, including direct advances as well as funds for marketing, promotion and touring. The artist agrees to give the company a percentage of all of their income, including sales of recorded music, live performances and any other income.
Can anyone imagine how great it would feel to play drums in a live show like he does on Denial?
Holy shit.
Yes the video I seen before I just watched again and looks just like this show. Uploader is EVILTWINBLS. The show was on August 28, 2010

I love you Morgan Rose! From one Rose to another..😉
i am still one of those dedicated fans that buys CD's and merch, I HATE itunes, ipod's iphones, ianything! its a huge cash cow that everyone is literally BUYING into! and i totally agree it IS sad to see them getting screwed
cd's and vinyls aren't going nowhere
idk but morgan is in his game.
@tfmorrisoniv i may be wrong but the way im understanding it is, the label basically owns everything. merchandise and all. kinda sad really
9:24 that's why there isn't any good music anymore... nobody does it solely for the music.. it's about getting rich
All hail the Alien Freak!!!
This fukin rocked at lunatic luau.va beach
5:11 what are those blue kick drum beaters that he uses?
9:55 he knows what's up
Sorry, cuz that shyt was awesome. Nuff said. 7Dust for life.
@sixty90 sames man
poor cymbals
7:30 daaayum.
Well....when you play drums like you’re in a bar fight, yea you’ll be hurting after awhile.
I think from the first time I heard this band, I knew Morgan was the heart/engine.
Every single member is perceptible and brilliant but between the ridiculous drumming and the back up vox he’s just an oversized presence that has more than earned his fandom.
I don’t know if there’s a band in their genre that’s as demonstrably working class for as long and just keeps going despite and in spite the brutal market volatility…
i doubt tvt made 36 million $ outta you. maybe $15 million, tops
i just dont like how he hits stuff as hard as he can. its pointless
If that’s what he wants to do🤷🏾♂️
