These two were treasures. Great examples of true artists and also how they both maintained their skills into later life and aged so gracefully.

She had an amazing understanding of music and musicians that is unparalleled. I saw her live once and met her, I was speechless.

Thanks for posting! Wasn't this originally one of the specials for the SCETV pledge drives? Marian's radio show was regular listening for me as a kid. Think it first aired in '78 when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I grew up in South Carolina and remember being really proud that "Marian MrPartland's Piano Jazz" was a production of our own SC Public Radio!

Nice to hear Dave play ballads not too much block chords what a composer they both were. Ultimate show was her and Bill Evans
The musical rapport between them is amazing

Wonderful...I loved her radio show. Marian McPartland was such a great interviewer and she knew *everybody*. (One nit: the mono audio is recorded as single-channel stereo, which is a real distraction when wearing headphones. Workaround on the Mac: System Prefs -> Accessibility -> Audio -> "Play stereo audio as mono".)
