      Thank you, I like this weave because I find it is easy to keep neat. I have made these earrings with different kinds of weaves. My original design is with 4 core wires and then in the center I use 2 wires to do a c wrap around the beads. I do many variations of this design. The very first version is a pdf for sale on my etsy store.

    I really love your creativity!! I was wondering why use use raw copper and what is the difference between the others on the market? I am new at making jewelry. God bless 🙏🏻

    • @cherylst.pierre3148
      @cherylst.pierre3148  2 года назад

      I prefer using raw copper, as I love how it works for me. I have a lot of metal sensitivities so some I just cant use. Because I am a designer , i am always playing around and would hate to throw away more expensive wire. I will make items in Sterling silver but it gets springy as it work hardens. So copper is easier to work with. When I first started I always worked with silver and was a snob about the wires I worked with. A coworker of mine and fellow wire wrapper encouraged me to try copper. The wire was like magic in my hands.. I cant say enough about how much I enjoy creating with it.
      So take from that what you will, it all cones down to personal preference. Prior to my copper love i used Sterling silver square wire.

  • @reginahudock7444

    Thank you Cheryl for showing the weaving technique in such detail. i finally figured out from watching your video my mistakes. 1) I was pulling too tightly on my 28 gauge wire and my middle wire kept jumping up, so less tension thank you 2) even tho my weave was 'even" I guess I haven't been adding that extra loop around the top/back wire, so it was an even weave with a gap. Thanks so much for the detail, you are very much appreciated. Hugs.

    Thanks for another tutorial! I’m fairly new to wire wrapping, but have done it enough to have a question about unraveling. Is it really a good idea to cut through a weave? Seems like it would leave many loose wires without being properly anchored or secured and it could easily unravel and start tangling on hair or clothing. Just wondering. Thanks again.

    • @cherylst.pierre3148
      @cherylst.pierre3148  5 лет назад

      About the thoughts of the weaving wire unraveling.. since I have the wire ends tucked in and they should be touching the wires at the back, it should be impossible for the weaving wire to unravel.

      I am sorry too, as getting my nails done is the only way I can make jewelry. I have health issues that make my nails crazy fragile. I am now doing the dipping acrylic by myself to save money.. and the only ones I am having success with are sparkles.. but am far from professional..

    Your videos are wonderful! I love your designs and you are inspiring me to actually take the leap to wire weaving. I've gotten all the supplies, but have not had the heart yet to try it. Here comes the downside. While I'm a fan of lovely fingernails, they have their place, I find the flashy ones are distracting from the art/craft videos. I'd rather see more technique and less magnificent sparkle on the nails. Just a suggestion. I don't mean to be negative by any means, I think your nails are lovely, but I find that flashy nails in videos distract from the beautiful creations. The jewelry you are creating, as well as the instruction, should be the focus here, because it is beautiful on its own. There is a very successful you tube jewelry creator whose designs are wonderful but her ridiculously long and fake nails are such a turn-off for me that I no longer subscribe to her channel. She has a hard time picking up beads with those nails. Perhaps I'm an old frump. But I feel like the craft itself should be the focus. Don't get me wrong, a well-manicured hand is a wonderful thing to view. That said, I am not going to unsubscribe like I did the other gal. Please don't take this wrong, it is just a suggestion. Neutral nails will show off your work better. That is just this older lady's humble opinion. Keep up the good work! I love your designs and am motivated to go for it and just do it.

    • @cherylst.pierre3148
      @cherylst.pierre3148  4 года назад

      my nails are a requirement for me... as I have some bad health issues that make my nails weak and the acrylic allows me to do wire work. Also you cannot take the nails off just to do a video.. I no longer can afford to get my nails professionally done so I am using the new dip acrylic to fortify my nails. It is a necessity for me. I have to use sparkle stuff as it hides the flaws of my unprofessional job of doing my nails.. I have used just about every nail product out there and this is the only stuff I have had success with.
