The magic of Spiritbox is in the second verse. Noticed that way back with Rule of Nines. You should definitely check out the last single from this EP, Jaded.
Dude, I love watching your reactions. Your joy of and love for music really shines through. It's refreshing in the reactions landscape.
Best reaction I've seen to this song so far.
Thank you 🙏
The pure joy on your face when that breakdown hit is certainly contributing to me having a damn good day 😁
You said Queen Of The Damned 😍
New Chase video = Instant Watch. Love your insight on any track in which you listen.
Most definitely enjoyed your reaction to this one. Probably one of my favorites of theirs yet. Cheers man
I think heavy Spiritbox is my favorite Spiritbox nowadays. Although it's definitely because they can do the light, airy, ethereal stuff so well that I enjoy it so much when they go all the way in the opposite direction.
Jaded next it also follows Cellar Door on the EP so it’s kinda perfect. Loved your reaction. 💜
I love this. I can't stop listening to it. Your reaction was my reaction. I never get tired of that breakdown. Courtney smash 🤘
Incredible song. loved the verse on this one.
Very happy to see you did this one! Looking forward to seeing what you have to say 😊
Late to the party on your recent videos...That being said, I absolutely love them. You can see the metal fan in you and the joy you show when a breakdown hits, or a riff gets nasty. It's so pure and amazing. Not to mention all your notes and comments on things like dissonance, space, layers, etc. 10/10 as usual
Thanks so much man. Really makes me happy knowing you’re enjoying these, I sure am. Lots more to come I promise 💪
watching the joy on your face never gets old man. this is heavy asf!!
*edit* i think this would be a track that ends with an interlude going into the next
Sorry strong guys, Courtney has got the mic!!!
Hahaha facts!
So happy that you made time in your (most likely) busy schedule to react to this song! It's super surprising and awesome that there wasn't any "cleans" in this one and I loved that! Hope your move and everything in the future goes smoothly for you!
I normally don't enjoy a fade-out, but Spiritbox did it right.
Jaded next! I love cellar door but jaded is possibly my favorite spiritbox song since eternal blue it is so perfect. I think you’ll love it!
Just starting the video and I'm already gonna say thank you. Love your videos man
Spiritbox always makes me excited for their new music. I always know my ears are going to love it. Each song is a bit different...but still familiar. It's just so good! You should check out Jaded next if you get a chance, on or off camera. Another great video! HADGD!
Yay missed you buddy. The bounce on this track is so good.
Big "Belcarra Part 2" vibes
I like how every damn time the chorus plays they add a melody and layer to it.
Can't wait for this one.
"Thank you, everybody! We are Tortured Melody! Here to crush faces and destroy you all!" Lmao. Great reaction as always, Chase! Get in! 🤘
Cellar door blends into Jaded
🖤
Spiritbox is a special band - just strikes the right chord and for me is the perfect mix between heavy, melodic, and creepiness which they flawlessly show here! Great review my friend!
Not sure if you've heard it, but if you like Spiritbox and female fronted metalbands - you have to react to "MALPHAS" by Future Palace - came out like 3 or 4 months ago but its a good one and would absolutely LOVE to see youre reaction and dissection there!
Literally all music is based on dissonance... it's the degree that varies, but pure harmony ...would be one note, literally. So Always laugh when people complain about dissonance (obviously you are not) in music.
While Courtney's harsh may not be as brutal as I truly prefer, I like them as they suit the music and I really appreciate the enunciation she uses in them, something many harsh vocalists lack.
interesting uou mention the snare, i do believe they use samples on the snare but they mixed very well and it its probably sampled from the same drum but it does sound very good
Metal.
Jaded next !!
Hey Chase 👋
every time I watch any of your reactions to Sleep Token, I think it might be a good idea to recommend you a band named "Dirty Loops". The genre is quite different (jazz/jazz fusion/funk), but I'm telling you, you won't regret checking them out - they're really good at what they're doing.
If you see this comment and decide to give them a go, I'd suggest you start with "Work Sh*t Out", then "Follow the light" and "Thriller" (Michael Jackson's cover). Enjoy! 😊
I want to give a free shout-out to courtneys podcast "good for a girl" she talks alot about social issues and sexism. Its an important conversation in her genre
Bringing in some is the BDSM crowd 😂
can't believe how good and sexy courtney is 😍
I think I've been spoiled by Will Ramos' and Dickie Allen's versatility and creativity in the various ways they scream on their tracks. They constantly change up the types and timbre of their screams, and I think that's why I enjoy listening to their screams. Now, when it comes to Spiritbox, Courtney's screams sound almost "monotone" or "one note," and thus I often get bored when listening to her vocals and the vocalists in other bands who also scream on a single "tone." For instance, I quickly got bored when listening to one of Trivium's most recent albums, because the vocalist was screaming on only one "tone." Screaming like that is a missed opportunity to make the lyrics more impactful to everyone who hears the song. No word stands out because it all sounds the same.
Yeah that’s factually inaccurate. Most of Courtney’s screams are pitch screams and definitely not a single tone. Will and Dickie use a variety of different scream techniques which produce a lot of different sounds, but they’re not usually tonal.
@@theopinson3851 Thank you for the clarification.
You know me, I love the instrumentation in songs with these style vocals, but the growls/screams just not for me. You have helped me appreciate the skill and talent it takes to do those vocals, but just not a skill/talent that I enjoy listening to. Spirit Box is a great band and thanks for reacting to them again Chase, have a great one!
