Do you have a flock to buy from? I’m look for some pullets, I also wouldn’t mind suggestions of where I can get Dominique’s that isn’t from a big hatchery? Totally subscribing by the way! Thanks for the video!
I have a Dominique her name is Pumpkin. She is my friendliest, sweetest girl I have. She loves to be picked up, alsways under someone’s feet. I love her so much
Thanks! Couldn’t figure out if I had Cukoo Marans, Barred Plymouth Rock or Dominique’s. I have Dominique’s lol now to figure out if this “hen” that’s crowing is a hen😂I believe she is because the the largest in the flock and #1 in the pecking order, I can tell I have 1 Roo but my wife isn’t sure about the “crowing hen”
lol. That's funny. ! I don't think hen's can crow .... there is ,I think only one breed of chicken's that the roosters do not have hackle feather's on their neck...which are called Seabrihhts, ...a bantam type of chicken..so long skinny feathers on their neck and they crows is most likely a rooster...and the more it matures the more this will become evident! Have a good day and enjoy your chickens!
@@randallcrawford4141 it is a rooster… I didn’t want it to be!!! Lol I tried so hard to push it to be a hen! Didn’t work🤣 but things are rockin in the coop now so eggs will be here soon👍🏻
First time chicken owners. We just happened to get this breed from a friend. We had one rooster and 3 hens, but one hen died this week. It's safe to assume we know little to nothing about chickens, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. It was suggested that maybe the hen became "egg bound." Assuming that is what it sounds like, is there a way to spot that and help should it happen again?
My dominiques are a cross like traditional . Mine are crossed with barred rocks . It was good enough for our ancestors , good enough for me and the ones that want to buy them from me .
A lot of the description photos were completely wrong, I think this video was made by old AI. Dominique's have only a rose comb anything else is not one.
Dominiques and wayandotes are so shy and flighty I don't understand why people would want them when there are many calm, docile friendly and trustful breeds out there 🙄
Thank you so very much. I have 5 and they are amazing.
Nice story. I love learning about poultry. Thanks 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve got a bunch of game chickens 7 Rhode Island reds and 1 barred rock but I’ve always wanted a big flock of Dominic‘s
Dominique’s are the best!

I wish you say something about heat tolerance for us southern growers.
I'll add it to the list!
Thank you for doing these..very educational 👍
Glad you like them!
Thank you. We have 4 and they are all nice birds.

It can happen. Search crowing hen. You'll find some. They aren't the best at it but still. They sometimes grow spurs as well.
In Austria they are called Habsburger Klosterhenne :-)
Whats the difference with BPR?

I heard that this breed lays eggs throughout the winter. Is that true 🤔
Can this breed survive in warm regions like Asia?

My Dominiques are the smallest hens in our coop. Good natured.
My favorite.
Great informative video
Glad it was helpful!
Bought what I thought was a Barred rock..turns out after watching your video, it’s a Dominique lol.. Thanks!
Thanks
Sapphire gems would be a great video..
I'll add it to the list!
I wish you would have had better pictures. Most didn't fit the standard which may further confuse those new to the breed.
😂 regarding roosters agression and mating seadon... is there a time when roosters are NOT harassing the hens?🤔

We called them Dominiquers (Dominicker)
I love mine. However, they are escape artists. They turn their beaks up at feed and prefer to find their own food. Haha

That's my name
🇭🇹
DOMI WHAT 🤨
Canceled 😂
Thanks
