"It's the letter of the law". Sounds more to me like a lack of discretion and understanding because both kyle walker and trossard went competing for that 2nd ball and trossard beat him to it with martinelli running onto it. It's a ridiculous card
Doku kicks it away what, 5-10 minutes beforehand, clearly delaying the game as he's looking at the ref, and the ref just says "oh no worries." Trossard is closer to the ball when teh whistle goes, maybe doesn't even hear it and the ref sends him off. There's no consistency. Atrocious - Joao Pedro kicks it miles away against Brighton with no penalty but Rice gets sent off. Doku kicks it away with no penalty, but Trossard gets sent off. Refs wanting to be the talking point, to be the star of the game. Then when Arsenal actually time waste in the second half, there's no cards. Crazy
In the wide shot, you can literally see Michael Oliver has just blown the whistle for the foul the same time Trossard kicks it. Less than a second of reaction time. Michael Oliver didn't give Kovacic a second card for a blatant second yellow tackle last because he "didn't want to influence the game". Just last week the same exact scenario for Szobo and didn't give a second yellow.
Chicago was an amazing city for the Fan Fest!! Why did it take so many years before they came to Chicago?!?!?! Big respect to the Man City fans in the crowd during the Man city vs Arsenal game. They were totally outnumbered and surrounded by Arsenal supporters. Come back to Chicago again soon!!!!!
Referees must understand that they are not dealing with robots on the field, they are human beings. High adrenaline and heart rates. Very soon referee decisions will suck out the soul of football.
??? Arsenal had to clear the ball like 40 times in the second half of THIS GAME as hard or harder when the ball was in play. Clearances happen every match
The nerve of them to tap a ball that's been kicked into them, and they to pass a ball to a teammate less than a second after a whistle had blown. Neither of those were second yellow cards. Ridiculous decisions.
@@makei89 Michael Oliver blew it both ways fella, Called over Walker then quick whistle restart before he could reset? (Kudos to that goal tho, was mega) Trossard playing a school boy error… He saw Declan Rice Brighton red card and said “Hold my beer.” Should be more mad at Trossard than the ref. Thats the title done for you lot
This marks a turning point-a true game changer. The project is nearing completion, and City now recognize that Arsenal is no longer a pushover. Come back in February and witness it for yourself: City away at Arsenal.
@fahimhussain1105. WTF??? Did you give up a second goal in the 98th minute or not?!?!?! Do you have a pair of eyes???? Arsenal fans literally getting offended by the truth now just cause they actually believe the world is out to get them…
Do you honestly think City fans will respect Arsenal after they wasted time feigning injury about 10 times? City were crap today without KDB, I think a draw is the least they deserved though.
Am I the only that didn't think Trossard kicked the ball away? it's split seconds after the referee blew the whistle. He subconsciously completed the play
Corruption. PGMOL. Don't even talk about how Haaland should have a red card twice and multiple game suspension for violent conduct. The league is a disgrace. "Letter of the law" is now a phrase used to justify pour decisions instead of actually moving toward a consistent enforcement of the law in the league for every game with every team. Howard Webb is a disgrace. FA does nothing, I think they actually want the controversy because it sells. Why else wouldn't the talking heads actually cover what happens correctly? In England and in America. Follow the Saudi money trail as Michael Oliver does games in Arabia. Howard Webb puts the same referees on these games just to screw them up. Supposed time wasting kicks players out but violent conduct doesn't. Meanwhile a record 35 minutes of the ball being on the field in the second half as Man City is allowed to play fast (rightfully so) as the referee for both halves tacks on 7 minutes AND goes over on each. Who does it help? You guessed it, 130. Does anyone actually believe 130 laws were cheated by Saudi City? More. They would find more if they keep looking and Sunday would add to the list. Corrupt.
2:14 no, they definitely haven’t. They came to the Etihad and thanks to game state or not, played for a draw. Right out the gate they targeted Rodri and were undoubtedly relieved to see him gone before the half. They were absent up front, provided little threat and got an equalizer which should not have stood. Then they have the audacity to complain about a deserved red card and the time added on for their blatant time wasting. And the media machine keeps on spinning. Their coverage of the most controversial moment of the game, the one which changed the game state more than even the red card, is boiled down to “I know Pep and Walker weren’t happy. Anyways…” are you serious?
Rodri wasn't targeted, he took a dive and tried his hardest to get Havertz sent off. The red was very obviously not deserved, no reasonable person could argue otherwise. Players are not robots, and expecting them to pull out of a kick at the ball less than a second after the whistle is nonsensical. Get a hold of yourself.

Soooo no one is going to talk about how terrible the referees have been for like the past 4 years
Nope

Even humans know the rules no excuse to ignore them...
Control it
the kicking the ball away rule has to be changed. Just add time. Tellow cards become red cards and ruin the game. PGMOL is clueless.
So will Harland get fined for the throw against Gabriel's head? Should have been a red during the game.
Becca and the boys crushed it all weekend. Chicago was lit too. Fun to watch.
LETS TALK ABOUT THE REFS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE EVRY SEASON AND IM A LIVERPOOL FAN
Chicago ROCKS! The best summer city in the world. Don’t visit in the winter though. That’s nov through may. 😂
If refs make a mistake, we’re reminded they’re humans. If a player makes a mistake, we’re told the law is the law. Players are now robots
"New Found Respect " Where have I heard that befor?🤔
Where are the full highlights?
Robbies, troussard was already on a yellow and was reckless on his second. You can debate if the second was a penalty or not but he wasn’t thinking.
This game should be the 116th charge
Trossard clearly heard the whistle. No player would kick away the ball like that if the match was ongoing.
??? Arsenal had to clear the ball like 40 times in the second half of THIS GAME as hard or harder when the ball was in play. Clearances happen every match
Two red cards, missed 4 points. As much as the decisions were controversial, Arsenal players are not helping themselves by doing childish things

They changed the official word back to foul for the second yellow
Intentionally hurt a player, illegal block a goalkeeper,
Arsenal played terribly dirty.
Shame on Arsenal and Arteta.
That mtfk player hurt himself .... he now enjoys happy time in the hospital .... Even 11 can not beat 10 ... What a team of 115 cases ... !!!!!
