Its all fun and games until the Ultramarine stops saying "Theoretical/Practical" and starts using "Im going to ventilate your skull with my fist!"
Unfortunately, the last thing you'll hear is, "I'M GOING T........" lol
Oculus Imperia is the only person who can manage to make me excited for Ultrasmurfs
I was waiting so much for this to release! Amazing! Long live the Emperor of Warhammer!
Awesome job!! So calm and disturbing at the same time
Kor Phareon leans in close to Guilliman and whispers in his ear... "We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty"
Guilliman rips his heart out.
"My normal calm had been compromised." - Roboute Guilliman
And then he proceeds to turn Word Bearers into donuts, with his hands, in the vacuum, without a helmet on... Angry Guilliman has the kind of fury that makes Khorne feel sorry he even pondered Angron or Sanguinius as his champions.
"I decided to hunt down the remaining traitors with immense abhorrence" -robot gorillamint, probably?
Robig Guyman needs an anger translator like Obama.
"You have made a mistake... because while I live I can still do THIS!" -RG
Never mess with a thoughtful man. When he does, finally lose his cool, horrible things will follow.
Guilliman should have made a second founding chapter of Calth survivors that had one mission: kill the XVII Legion. Should've named them the Pallbearers
Why, when I read that, did a certain thought come into my head: “ Brother Captain, the Exterminatus is complete. The vermin most foul have been destroyed! Excellent! Prepare the chapter for the ritual of Celebration!” Cuts to scene: several Marines bearing a coffin and dancing to techno!!😂🤣
I hope after you finish this series you put out the whole story in one video like you did the burning of prospero . I love the long ones like that
That's the plan!
@@OculusImperia Loving it so far, any idea how many parts are left? EDIT: Sounds like this was the last one. Fine work as always Historator.
Same! Whenever I can't sleep I put on the complete burning of Prosporo and I'm able to sleep. Not because Oculus is boring, far from it. Just something about his voice is super chill.
Death of hope. Death of progress. Death of trust. Alot of things died at Calth for the ultramarines. Awesome video 🤩
Already the finale! I could have listened to 10 more episodes on it! Amazing series and narration, thank you Oculus!
Another great day for Oculus Imperia viewers
The “What if?” of Kor Phaeron just killing Guilliman is one of the biggest potential hinges in the whole setting.
Crazy man losses a war despite every possible advantage. I've heard this one somewhere.
I mean the siege of Terra would have been a Chaos W if Peter Turbo did not run off because he is the petulant manchild that he always is.
@@ethanduncan1646To give Perty some credit, everybody else on the traitor side was making dumb decisions or fucking off killing civilians. I’d quit too if I was the only player on the pitch putting in the work.
@@Mordreviousdon’t forget half his forces were Deamons and you can’t control those things to the level he needed
For some reason, I’m reminded of the quote “Demons run when a good man goes to war.”
In this case, there may have been no small number of literal daemons running during the hour these good men returned on the offensive.
The Ultramarines were blasted and blown apart, decimate and surrounded. And Chaos had almost every advantage. Yet they still got their asses kicked by the mighty 13th.
I'd chalk it up to Word Bearers in particular being a bunch of useless idiots
"Good job, Gorillaman. You ripped the heart right outta that chatty traitor's weird, semi-ascended torso. Now just go ahead and fini- Oh. Oh, you were done? Didn't want to take another go at him? Maybe fully kill, no no, it's fine my lord. That's alright. It was a long day, and really how likely was a named character to survive losing a heart in our setting anyway?"
- a brief transcription of why Oculus can survive his employment while I would not.
Great video as always, looking forward to the next ones!
Of all the lore channels, none manage to get me as immersed as this one.
I feel like, this retelling, while excellent, misses the full Helm's Deep-esq "turning of the tide" element of the battle of Lanshear. I understand the Oculus's focus being drawn to the Primarch, but it was truly his sons, the Mechanicus, the Excertus, and ultimately the organization that Guilliman had built that won the day, not just he himself. To listen to this account, one would think that the loyalist forces were losing at Lanshear until the grid was reactivated. In fact, this was not true, and the emergence of Ultramarines aligned forces, out of hiding and seemingly out of thin air had already stretched Magos Tawren's calculations of how long the position could be held from mere minutes to many hours. Even a counter attack by traitor Titans was blunted by the emergence of loyalist engines. That all of these disparate forces managed to coordinate their arrival at Lanshear in such quick succession that no element could be picked off by Word Bearer forces is incredible. Especially given the limited communication they had at their disposal, and the fact that many of them were engaged at the time. Ultimately to have forged a force capable of doing that, after taking the kinds of losses they already had, is far more impressive than ripping Kor Pheron's heart out, or even surviving in near vacuum. I little doubt that the Lord Guilliman would agree.
Garb bearing the marque of Oculus Imperia has been delivered to my hab-unit! And now a further worthy record is transmitted for our benefit. Truly the Emperor Protects!
I still miss the old buttstuffkaiju name lol it was such a funny little end to such a somber serious tone, because at the end of the day….this is nothing but plastic models that you’ve been tricked into doing the majority of the work for despite being ridiculously overpriced lol it was a good bit of fun to remember it’s nothing but fun lol
Beautifully done. I so look forward to these. I can relate as a guardie better to the few tales involving Solar Auxilia, or Knights, but this is really, really well delivered. Thank you Oculus. I don't have another content creator like you who gives me that feeling of being in the universe.
Always a good day when the historator uploads!
A Interaction for the Interaction God, a Comment for the Comment Throne, for the Almighty Algorithm
Content is always awesome. Commenting for the fecking algorithim.
Really enjoyed the is series . Been a long time since I read Mark of Calth & I definitely found this refresher brilliant!! Cheers
My favourite part of the Betrayal at Calth is that even as the Ultramarines rallied the defence, even as they drove the Word Bearers from their system, even as they laid vengeance upon those who betrayed them...the Word Bearers had already won. Though even Lorgar would not know how until the Fateweaver himself showed him...by Kor Phaeron's hubris, the fate of the heresy had been set...
The sorrow of the murdered star system drips from your narration. This was no victory, for the dead were beyond the count of Grief. If there is a victory, it is that, for all the death that occured, all the people of Calth-Primarch, Astartes, Mechanicum Tagmata, Auxilia, Civilians-were united and resisting the tide of death upon them. Calth stood together. And for all that the Ultramarine's systems were turned unto them in the initial attack...they slaughtered the Word Bearers once control was returned.
Well might one bear the Mark with pride, bitter and grim though it may be.
My mans!!!! Back with a banger!!
Let us be basked in the rays of the Occulus' holy words... too soon?
Best 40k channel on RUclips.
Any chance of an Age of Sigmar lore video, good historitor ?
"I'm all out of bubblegum." - Roboute Guilliman
I wanna hear the story of gauge persuit of the traitors into the warp
0:37 There’s a lot of things I already love about 30k marine armor, but every now and then I find something new to love. Loyalist terminators wielding chain axes are that new thing today. 👌
So, when is the Ciaphas Cain video going to drop? 😂
The somber weight of that outro phrase delivery is palpable
Aight before i fully watch i just wanna say how hard the title "ashes of a dream" goes.
And here i thought youd never do a series that i would like more than your coverage of the siege of vraks. The story of Calth has neen an incredible ride, thank you for taking us along!
Your acolyte sits with rapt attention
This historical data log is proof that The God-Emperor blesses us this day.
I don't often comment on videos. But I've been a fan for years, and I was browsing the literary treasure trove of content that you have created. I was overcome with depthless gratitude. Your work is simply sublime.
When you upload, i am still struck with the level of quality you put into your work. ( Which is why i support you via patreon: very well done, sir :) )
Amazing as always. I wasn't even remotely interested in the 40K universe until I watched one of your recordings. Glory in excelsus Terra!
How long ago was that?
@@Adino1 a couple of years ago
Everyone forgets that Guilliman & Leeman Russ were close. Man had a temper.
This series have really been great! As always I'm looking forward to your next release ❤
Damn crazy people are up at a l l hours.
this is so good a lore min-series and really shows just had tough the ultramarines can be when you get them really angry. I hope you do one on the blood angels at the Signus system.
Protracted war under an irradiated surface -- Krieg echoes.
Thank you again, strong work on another chapter.
You continue to be, by far, the best 40k lore creator.
Well done!
Full episode and morning sex....great combo. Wife disagrees but didn't have to listen to the video.
If you think of space marines during sex I have some bad news for the both of you.
Quite gay sir.
"Sorry babe, but the lore video stays ON during sex 😤"
@@butHomeisNowhere___ well that is why I use ear buds.
@@MandaloretheSavage Chad Chadderson is your new name 💪
Id keep the heart as a trophy
But it is a Chaos tainted heart.
@@Adino1 still, Papa Smurf is well documented to be resistant to that sort of crap. Besides its the silver medal of traitor trophies. Second only to Eebus’s face. Horus bagged that one.
Superlative story telling.
Thanks so much for doing this.
Great video and i love these long series.
Thank you Oculus, for all of your hard work and dedication to producing what I feel are the best WH40K media out there, but even more thanks for doing such an extensive dive into one of my favorite stories: The Betrayal at Calth.
Awesome.
Orator Imperator.
Bump
Sorry if this was asked before but once this series is done will you be releasing a video that is all of them in a single vid?
Oh the full series episode is going to go so hard
Horus did nothing wrong!
He killed billions of innocent people.
I'm more than ready to hear the Word Bearers get what's coming to them. It's been a long time coming
I cant wait to binge this series a few times! Especially seeing how youve set thr play list so far 👌
Its awesome to have a new post for the commute to work. Get the day started out right with a top notch dive into 40k.
Great video 👍 definitely want to hear about the the battle of the ships that sounds like a good tale 😊
I was literally just re watching the whole series, and he realised a new one. Destiny
Can't wait for the full series in an hour long video!
Once again you continue to do the emperors work
Been looking forward to this!
Hey Roboute… Eskrador
The most tragic story ever written
Great way to start my morning
I can finally sleep again🎉
Great video
Glory be
Brilliant.
And the Oculus, ever vigilant, carries on.
The weight of the knowledge of these atrocities weighing heavily on his heart; he carries on.
The understanding of what.. what could have been, ever present in his mind; he carries on.
Because only in Death does duty end. 🫡
