Thank you. I was off line on my computer for weeks and could not connect. I was about the spend $65/hr to take my laptop to one of the local computer shops. In less than 30 seconds, you got me back online with the blue Fn, F2 button trick. I was also thinking about scrapping this system. What a great tutorial.
Fred Krause, I appreciate you so much!!! Most people wouldn't make a video for something so seemingly simple, especially not for older models like these & I'm so happy that you did!!! I unknowingly flicked the switch on my e5410 & have been looking all over the thing for days for a button or key to press... but didn't think to look on that front part.. kinda feel like a dummy for not noticing it but luckily it's all in the past, hahah. Thank you so much!!!!!

wow!! thanks to your video I no longer have to use the annoying Ethernet cord to connect my laptop to the internet. My son had turned off the wireless switch on the front of my laptop, and until your video I had no clue the switch even existed. thanks so much!!

Thank you for this video. Even though you did not show a Dell Latitude D630, you did show other models which are really all kind of the same and I could figure out my issue with mine. The issue I was having with mine was that the driver for the 1390 WLAN Mini-Card was up to date, went into the BIOS everything looked good, and then realized from your videos that there is a toggle switch for WiFi lol. I did not look at this externally or would have thought of such a thing on it and figured it was a software or internal issue. My problem was fixed -- all I had to do was toggle the switch.
Thank you very much. I just spent two very frustrating days trying to get my WiFi back on. Tried changing lot's of program settings but in the end it was just an on/off switch located tucked away at the front edge of my laptop. It must have got knocked into the off position. Anyway, put it back to on position and my WiFi came back on after putting the password back in as it requests. Brilliant, still have some remaining hair on my head that I didn't pull out. So thanks again for sharing the video. Very much appreciated 😊

ahhhhh thank you so much. I really didn't notice the key at the front side of my laptop. In my case I accidentally turned it off and I was really in trouble that time cause it happened during my online class. Like, I was shock that I was disconnected to the class and the wifi wasn't turning on I thought it was brownout, but my fan was still working and when I look at my phone the wifi was still there and its working. I've watched alot of videos already until I happened to think of looking for wifi key. And now, I was somthankful that you've made this video sir. Hello Fred. I was wondering if you could help me? I'm having a 'Dickens of a Time' (trying) to find (any) switch on my 2005 Dell Latitude 131L laptop. There is (NOTHING) even remotely resembling a switch (even) right above the audio output port. It (does) have what looks to be a slide-in port underneath here though, with the letters 'SD/SDIO/MMC' (above it). Where on earth would there be a wireless on/off switch on this thing. Secondly, it's running with Zorin OS and is auto-logging to a guest account screen of which Zorin says will delete all settings, bookmarks, folders, etc., when logging off after the session!!! This is ridiculous! (I) am the owner/operator of this ebay-bought laptop and these are 'my lumps' I guess. No Wi-Fi and this second issue too, (SHEESH)!!! Please help if you can! Any hints would be appreciated! Thanks, Greg. PS; You were talking abt. passwords Fred. I HATE password-enabled laptops because there's the distinct possibility, one (could) get locked out of their own computer by simply forgetting their password. WOW, hopefully you've never had a password-locked Dell Inspiron 6000 like I have, sitting on the sidelines, LOL. This Dell laptop model is a 'horse of a (totally) different breed, LOL! (IF) it (is) locked, you won't be able to access it 'til pigs fly', LOL!! One could pay a computer repair shop to unlock it, or pay Dell big bucks to unlock it (or), I've read on (some) websites that if one has some soldering/de-soldering skills and can de-solder and short out the sixth(?) pin on the I.C. chip on the motherboard on these darn machines, one can erase the password (sometimes). WOW, seems like a (lot) of work to me, LOL.
Thanks for the video. To the point and didn't drag. My Dell wireless was fine but I needed to reinstall Win7 to address other issues. When I reinstalled its showing no available networks. Ran troubleshoot it told me to install Ethernet cord.

I just got an E6540 it was refurbished and on the first day that I had it the internet connection was lost when I look on my hotspot it says that it's connected when I look in the corner of the laptop it says it's connected but then I can't open the browser it keeps on saying you're not connected how do I fix?
