People have probably already mentioned: this was the #1 Country Song of the Year 1971. Folks, this song is a massive triumph of songwriting. Lyrics like these, with this melody, don't exactly grow on trees. Hats off to Freddie. He sang it, AND wrote it:)
I love this song so much. My brother, Jimmy Don, danced with me to this not long before he passed away with brain tumor. He was only 39. Thanks for sharing this on youtube makeminecountry2. :)
i did a show with freddie back in 1973 at country paradise park i made chicken and sat at his table and shared it with him he was so kind and sweet i never forgot that about him i have not heard fromm him since but i think of him often Freddie if you read this hello and i hope all is well with you Miss Brandy
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. Freddie not only sang it so beautifully, but composed the music & wrote the lyrics. It was declared Song of the Year in 1971 & 1972 by The CMA. Freddie was named Top Male Vocalist & Entertainer of the Year at the 1972 Academy of Country Music Awards. He quickly had 5 more #1 hits. The Nashville music tycoons, who are legitimately cussed at for the county music of today, finally noticed that this Alabama man was a great singer & songwriter.Amen.
I SURE DO LOVE THE OLDER VERSIONS OF COUNTRY MUSIC,THAT IS TRUE COUNTRY MUSIC AND REALLY WORTH LISTENING TO.THE WORDS ARE SUCH AS YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THEM,AND REALLY FEEL THEM IN YOUR HEART AND SOUL.
"Every time I look you over.... so real to life it seems.... upon your pretty shoulders.... there's a pair of angel wings..." Lord, I wish my man would talk to me like that! They just don't write 'em like that anymore! Thanks for this.
Wow, this brings back wonderful memories to a 69 yr old grandma. I wasn't allowed to dance as a teenager, after marriage my husband would only slow dance, and when that 6'5" Okie in his Sgt.'s uniform took me around the floor to this I melted. Agent Orange finally took him from me in 2011, and do I ever miss him and songs like this.
god bless you rose and my brother who passed away 2 yrs ago freddie was his fav singer you both share a singer who to this day outshines them all as far as quality country music goes
Freddie gave country music a special touch. The voice comes true in true country music. One of my favorites. And they appreciated their fans and sang for them. God bless Freddie Hart.
Freddie Hart not only are you one beautiful singer, but you outdid Webb Pierce for a flamboyant outfit. This is so easy to listen to that Alabama man sing. A great star, & shinning like a star too. Absolutely a fantastic video.
This is the music I grew up with, also. I'm mostly rock and roll now but I still know what is good. Classic country- Classic rock!!!! Sombody wrote that, country music today is not country. You can say that again. Jusy about anything up until 1980 after that, forget it.
Freddie toured West Germany in 1979 ... my Dad's band backed him ... after Freddie sang, my Dad did his normal set, including "Easy Loving" ... people were amazed when Haskell Foster and Country Cooking did just as good a rendition as Freddie! Dad said Freddie couldn't have been any more generous to a bunch of unknown Army musicians.
We had Freddie Hart at our Texas Opry Theater back in 2004 in Weatherford, Tx. He is truly one of the finest gentlemen in the music business period. A delight to work with and to be around. When I picked him up at DFW airport there was mistaking him when he walked out of the door. The first thing he said to me was "Bless Your Heart, Darlin'". That is a memory I will always treasure.

This has got to be the prettiest and sexiest song by this great singer during this era of country music. I personally just love it. God Bless You, Gwen
It was 1960 something. I was like 5 years old. My Dad was stationed at Fort Hood and later sent to Vietnam. For all the hell my Dad raised and my Mom put up with, I remember the good times they shared. This song, along with many other Country Western songs were always coming out of the console stereo. Thx for posting.
My mawmaw always said Freddy Hart was her man when we would listen to his music when I was a child. Brings back so many memories. I love and miss you mawmaw Ruth Henderson.
Bless your heart, Freddy Hart---you and Bobby Braddock are the ONLY TWO songwriters to have your respective songs win the CMA Award for the "Best Song, twice-it's happened only twice in nearly 55 years. ." Braddocks' "He Stopped Loving Her Today,' Yours: "Easy Lovin.

I had the pleasure of meeting this fine gentleman years ago, and he was just such a NICE person! I remember being so surprised because I was not used to celebrities being that nice, lol. He was very very humble and sweet. I recall wishing he was my grandfather.
Been a fan of his from the mid fifty's . He was a regular on Town Hall Party in Compton , Ca, Always thought he was great. Still is, still do . He trained the LA police force in Judo or hand to hand. What a guy. Now lives r at least did in Nashville.
The original recording of this fantastic Freddie Hart song crossed over to the pop chart and reached #17 on Billboard. You folks who love this type of country music don't forget the artists of the 40's and 50's. Hank Sr, Webb Pierce, Faron Young, Edy Arnold, Ray price, Ernie Tubb, Hank Snow, Carl Smith, Kitty Wells, Jim Reeves, Jean Shepard and all of the others who made the 40's, 50's and 60's the golden years of Country Music.
If there were a definitive ," ALL-TIME" greatest singles list-irrespective of the length or longevity of the artist's career,..for whatever the reason...Hart's Easy Loving has to rank as one of the finest songs in the entire history of Country music. The vocals, lyrics, instrumentation and the overall, combined end product...highlighted by the timeless, melodic changes is truely exquisite...timeless.
That's my dad, still playing the steel. Best in the business!
