3:54 Someone please explain..... A minor is classified as an unobvious hit and you are playing on (and also have not shot anyone)..... A major is an obvious hit and you are still playing on.

Minor - hit but played on (shooting, advanving your position, talking)
Major - hit but played on and shot someone, effecting the point at hand
Gross Major - hit and wiped, overshooting, or physical contact
Only recently getting back in so may be missing some points or wrong on some but overall should be the gist.

@@Capt1ve7 So if I am shot in the middle of the goggles and continue to move forward in the snake , 'advancing my position'.... that would only be a minor?
Thats where I am confused. Surely "obvious hits" are major penalties regardless if you shot someone or not.

@nbrunnn as far as I know if you get shot like that and only keep crawling it would be a minor, in that instance for sure a penalty since there’s no way you wouldn’t know about it unlike a pack hit. Maybe if you crawled and other guy in the snake got up and bunkered you (you don’t shoot back at all), that might go to major still since you changed what was going on in the point ? (Bunkering player expects a trade and gets shot by your teammate anyways)

That's just paintball brother. Even at the highest level there's massive inconsistency. There's just so much discretion with each individual ref so it's kind of a crapshoot every single time. It's the primary reason I no longer play tournaments--I just couldn't stomach it anymore after like 6 years. I still enjoy watching matches to this day though!

Is this a difficult sport to get into and join pro??? I’d love to do this

Well, that depends. Do you live anywhere near professional teams, can you make practice and play every match, do you have a decent amount of money for gear and travel? Most pro paintball players don't have jobs outside of the sport. If you don't make it on a big money team like HEAT, you're not going to make good money especially if your team isn't winning tournaments. Going prop isn't like a hobby, it's a lifestyle and there is a reason why not too many people see it through to the end and make it to the big leagues.

@ I just moved to Huston lol. I actually didn’t even realize when I clicked the video this was Huston vs Tampa lol. I’m a boxer in not worried abt the physical athleticism only the mental and strategic 💯

@@TheFrontman2015 Boxing is a good sport and you're athletically ahead of most people who try out, but paintball will test your endurance, cardio, and explosive movements in hot and cold environments. Games are typically 15 mins total time, but you can have many plays within that time frame depending on how each team scores and overtime.
You will be doing a lot of crouching, squatting, crawling, shooting from low positions and angles. You're also going to be weighed down by your marker and gear, and your mask will restrict breathing, hearing, and speech. Some guys get heat stroke in the summertime and dehydrate quickly form overexerting themselves.
Paintball is a team sport so being able to communicate effectively and get along with your teammates is crucial to producing good games. Right now it seems like every division has stepped up their skills the fight for getting on to a top team is probably at its most competitive at the moment. If you do decide to pursue pro paintball I wish you the best of luck good sir!

@ yes the team part is my concern and the gear. I’m used to that a lil bit people often assume gloves are light. Not as heavy as gear and they’re not on my torso like armor would be but I get your point. I’m only interested because it looks fun and I’m interested in competing in things but going far with them. Doesn’t matter what it is. And when it comes to strategic technical stuff like this I’m all for learning and perfecting the craft. I believe if I had a dedicated tram we can go far bc when I love something and gain and interest I tend to get over obsessed with trying to become great like with boxing. Your talking to future Olympic gold medal boxer in 80kg/176lbs weight division 🙏🏾
