The current education system does injustice to the children of Guyana. The system causes marginalization very early in a child’s life. The system segregates the children into two groups, the smart and not so smart. The not so smart are dumped into an education system that does not provide adequate resources to support realistic expectations for their future, while the supposed smart kids are placed in a system that provides them better opportunities for learning. Marginalization cannot be the way forward in an oil rich economy. Every child must have equal opportunity and access to resources to help them in their development.
