Cleethorpes dancefloor revivals there seems to be few popping up at the moment.
How about this infectious former monster. Like many unforgettable Cleethorpes anthems, the FIRST PRESS with the coveted "BUSS" credit is a current prestigious revival spin for Soul Sam and a few other respected Northern Soul Jocks, also utilising the bonus of the magnificent "The Look On Your Face" on the flipside. This is a very elusive disc, thrills you which ever side you drop the arm on. "Face" is just as compelling as James Phelps, Satin, John Edwards, Magnetics etc version and no easy find, our first copy in quite some time.
This 45 offers TWO great sides - both of which delighted the Cleethorpes Pier & Blackpool Mecca congregation of the 70s. With "This Time With Feeling" with its haunting bouncing brass pulses, hooking into the dancefloor, magical plectrum manipulation being the preferred choice of play back then.
Of course when the 1972 45 was at the peak of its demand, DPR did press a reissue crediting "MEAN GREEN" in 1975 as the supporting act. This is what you occasionally encounter, but the first press with the BUSS credit, is incredibly rare.
If your gonna join in the Cleethorpes wave of nostalgic recollections of the East Coast good-times, this is the version that needs to be on your turntable for authenticity.
Condition Report
2 x XX on the a-side label, flipside BUSS label. Vinyl reveals some soft surface hairlines but as you will hear, not affecting plays well.
