Waccamaw Pottery. I remember going there as a kid with my mama and grandma.

The fact this abandoned mall was there the entire time with a carnival ride inside it
    Is absolutely baffling

Yeah basically. It was actually locked up for long time, yeah. Lots of hardware and confidential files were inside the building. Seems that partial demolition has started

It only closed 12 years ago in 2009 and it looks like it’s been closed for 20 or even 30 years

Well it was closed years before Hard Rock, the park just made use of part of it.

We didn’t grow up there so we wouldn’t know that!

Indeed, it is easy to tell who’s from SC from pronunciation and mannerisms. I know all too well.

“ My opinion is that the Moody Blues dark ride should never have been installed at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I mean the average person visiting Myrtle Beach is not really a progressive hippie. I think it would stand the test of time in London or even San Francisco. Timothy Leary was from the SF Bay Area after all. Then maybe change the ride theme song to ‘ Legend of a Mind’ instead of ‘Nights in White Satin’.
