I really appreciate their music and delivery. It seems that many people find it strange or pretentious that she makes those faces, I think she allows herself to feel the music and let her facial expressions go wherever they may, its the opposite of what we expect and how we are taught we should perform. I find it refreshing, honest and simply beautiful.
I agree, I think her performance is the opposite of pretentious (her everyday mask is off)

When you roll your eyeballs to the back of your head, they don't see anything. If I could get used to the sensation, it might be a useful technique for getting immersed in the music in the moment.
in her videos she doesn't "pull faces", which to me says this is how she sings, how she achieves the sound she wants

One of the most special artists i've come across in such a long time. Inspirational as a musician and as a human. I don't understand how anyone could possibly be put off by her performances; they are what seal the fucking deal. Absolutely beautiful.

I saw her live recently and she was Amazing!! I was really impressed - someone bought me a ticket and I had no idea what to expect. I was blown away - I even cried in parts
