I find it rather fascinating describing Suzy. You can't really find one standout feature with her that would be a trademark that sets her apart. But she ends up having what I come to describe as classic Korean features that together, sets her apart. Sunny (SNSD) has a very distinct face, mannerism, walking gait, speech, for example, where you just cannot confuse her with anyone. Suzy doesn't have something like that, and yet you would be able to tell who she is. Incredibly beautiful girl.
I agree. When you put her in a group, you can’t tell her apart, so I never understood when they said she was the most beautiful actress/singer in South Korea. But I’ve come to the understanding that the standard of beauty in every country is different. Sunny stands out to me as well. Kim Go-Eun stands out and a small number of Korean actors as well, while many of them, Suzy included, just all look the same.
I think the general public has seen Suzy grow up as a kid. She was cute and she matured fast in 2012-15. Prior to that you had people like Sohee or Minzy, but they stayed "cute" unlike Suzy.
And the perception she hasn't had surgery and stayed pretty scandal free increased her popularity.

@@HKim0072 this trio is over a long time ago two are already married with children and don't act as much and Song Hye Kyo is getting criticized left and right for her choices and acting not saying suzy is now killing it but so many female actresses with ordinary Korean standards are getting the recognition they deserve for their acting and so many new faces are in market now
