Title - Why the US MILITARY is Needed Around the World
Main Points -
1) We fund and spearhead NATO and the UN
2) US Military bases serve as a deterent to war
3) Japan, Korea, & others do not militarize because of us
4) We literally are going into debt for the sake of others
5) The US is the reason for free trade/low prices across the seas
And I've got to say, things like AFRICOM, are only the beginning! BUT, lets stop for now. This video was originally released on January 3rd 2018, but revamped with new audio (same script) on February 1st 2021.

• Why the US MILITARY is...
This is a remaster of a video I did back in 2017-2018
This has aged well considering that Kabul has fallen
great video
I'm loving you're content, and I agree almost 100% having family in the military. But right now I'm sorry to say they're goal is not saving the world.
I don’t want to be the world police. I also want to be able to eat pizza for every meal but unfortunately that ain’t happening either.
That's a very one sided way to look at it.
That's why comments are here. So you can balance the perspective and possibly get pinned
@@WarmPotato We are used to the US looking at this that way, you'd be surprised most of the world hates the USA no need to talk about the other side
@@thenewhope8171 I don’t hate the U.S.A. Yes their not perfect but what kind of empire ever was? The British empire during its height made mistake and that was the biggest empire in human history, Britain controlled over half the worlds nations, policed the world as does America today, but no nation is whiter than white. And if it wasn’t America who else would you want controlling world powers and politics? America has for the most part been a empathetic nation way more than what Russia or China will ever be. Give me Americanism over Russia or China any day. And communism can go fuck itself.
I think there is a big difference between hating The United States and hating various things they do. Most critical voices are on the latter. However it seems like critizizing the US for any anything is seen as an oppertunity for some to just brush it off as "you hate The United States"
I'll speak from my own experience. I'm also European which probably gives me a little diferent perspective too than many Americans.
There are many, many things USA has and still do that is straight up deplorobable. Just to skimm a few topics on the top of my head just as a quick example: Illegal offensive wars, war crimes, abnourmus corruption, patriot act.
I could go into more details but that's not really my point with this argument. It's more to point out that these are some of the things I can't stand. But do I hate USA? No.
As things ussually is, it's a bit more nuanced then that. There are loads of great things about the states too.
Movies, innovation, people and so on.
Its very important to look at things on a case by case basis. Just because you did something right here doesn't automaticly means that everything you do is alright. Two wrongs doesn't make a right, and one wrong and a right doesn't make them both right.
When it comes to the United States being the world police there is no denying that in many instances it is counter productive and its ties are often to other things than it claims to be for. There are many insentives, both politically and economicly to be the world police even though the money and resources going to a bloated military budget and illegal wars could have been spent so much better and improved people's life's significantly.
This comment has been overly long already so I'll leave it here. But atleast here's atleast a notion and an entry level argument for why being the world police isn't so noble and just.
Crisises is not a word. It's crises - pronounced "crisees"
You've got some boot polish on your chin lad.
Then is isolationism the solution?
@@WarmPotato Congress must declare war. These wars on terror are wars for Israel and they are illegal. Western terrorism is the only terrorism that exists.
@@WarmPotato their is a difference between anti war and isolationism
like the channel btw
"B b but what about the School Of The Americas and Guantanamo Bay!!!!"
So you really gonna ignore the Soviet Union’s contribution to the Second World War.
naturally he's got no clue hes a US citizen...
Any credible WW2 historian will tell you the outcome of WW2 was decided in Russia.
@@thenewhope8171 why do you hate America so much? Try going there it might open your eyes a little.
Cough cough Warhawk cough cough
spoken like an imperialist, it feels shitty when US soldiers walk around your land with weapons
East India Company with more technology.
The main argument against US interventionism isn’t that America doesnt uphold world peace, because we do, however, the argument is that funding the oppression of Palestinians, causing birth defects in Vietnam, and killing at least 110,000 civilians violently (with some estimates putting the number at over 600,00) in Iraq is amoral and needs to stop. Along with that, the secondary argument is that we need to focus our attention on our own problems, and we shouldn’t defend countries that can only have healthcare because they leech off of us. So overall, this video misses the point.
See my previous video about the Finnish education system to see no point was missed. This video is a remaster of the 6th video I ever did. The 7th being, that Finland related video emphasizing the point you made above. And disagreements over how to USE the military is a different conversation than the NECCESITY of the military. So in actuality, you're the one who missed the point.
@@WarmPotato I saw the Finland video, and I think now we are on the same page. The US military being around the world is only needed for other countries, and not for us
@@fartman998 HYPE! Now if only our government was competent, we'd be at peace XD ^_^
"without the United States, NATO would go the way of fish food."
Yes. And?
oof
@@WarmPotato NATO was supposed to end after the cold war that's what was agreed upon, fck the US and their imperialism
@josh chong no. And I'm not going to sanction globalist imperialism in pursuit of that amelioration.
@josh chong millions of people DO get murdered because of blah blah imperialism.
@josh chong Ironic that you say that because NATO has cause many millions to die because of their intervention Just ask any Libyan or the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia
Thing change and so the need for a "word police" that has proven to be more evil every time
0:35 no one is denying what US did
However, many even I have often contemplated the US machiavelian imperialism mindset about entering the war so late, was it to allow the Soviets to get strong so you can further build up your war economy, was it to allow the fall of the British Empire so you can take over,
By giving lend-lease to Russia and allowing the Soviets a foothold in Europe you damned a lot of people who did not even have a place in wars to suffer more so than they already did on the Nazis, were talking about free farmers who have only spiled the blood of animals for lunch
Going back to WW 1 Winston Churchill & Woodrow Wilson did the whole cloak and dagger bullshit to bring the US into the war by allowing Germany to engage in unrestricted submarine warfare, not to mention the US & UK lack of involvement in not keeping Kaiser on the throne or trying to intervene on the Tsars rescue, the bullshit that was the Treaty of Versailles, even Wilson who created the IRS knew it was a bad deal and we have Black Monday which resulted in lighting a fire that brought Adolf Hitler to power,
Then there are the deals with Saudia Arabia and the start of Islamic extremists, the Iran bullshit, Vietnam, Gulf War, War on Terror, Invasion of Afghanistan, etc,.
1:07 I look forward to the day fat Charlie is burned alive on a spit,
1:32 More like you undid the ultra nationalism imperialism zealotry brainwashing to Japan that was started following the Meiji dynasty, kind of like how Germany taught Japan about construction works and bread
