    Hi BnC. Great wrap up of Seville. Thanks for all the good Info. Now that the 90 day Schengen duration is used up where next? Perhaps some non Schengen Eastern European country may be. Looking forward to the next episodes. Have a Great Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy and a Travel filled New Year

    In Europe, milk is not refrigerated because it is sterilized at high temperatures with the UHT method, and, unopened, it is perfectly drinkable for up to three months, and once opened, a few days in the refrigerator. On the other hand, the standard unit of Liquid measurement is one liter or two liters.

    Very informative. You guys look like you just jumped off the top of a wedding cake! It's a good thing. I lived in Sevilla in the 1970s and I'm afraid to go back because I might be sorely disappointed. Those were seemingly ancient times, relatively speaking - pre-Internet, when you had to make an appointment to make a long-distance call and letters were written on flimsy aero-gramas. And Franco had just plotzed, so it was a remarkable era of releasing pent-up anxiety and exploring new-found freedom. And the first democratic elections in over 40 years. It was a phenomenal experience. Glad you're having fun in Sevilla. Keep up the stellar work!

      HAHA!! Thank you Harold. We really enjoyed our time in Sevilla. The history is just amazing, the people are friendly and the food was great. We could have stayed longer. You should get back sometime soon. It has most likely changed but it's such a wonderful place.
      Thank you for the more recent history. I fined it very interesting.
      Cheers!!!

      A kindred soul. I studied in Madrid in 1975-76, and Franco died that year. It was surreal with the guardia civil on every corner with their machine guns pointed, but at the same time it was a very genteel time of classic Spanish life with old men in boinas dando un paseo with their esposas in their Sunday best. We bought post cards at the tabacalera kiosk and aerograms and mailed them at the beautiful Palacio de Cibeles, which was the main post office at the time. Life was so different then. As young college girls we could walk through the Retiro Park at midnight and not be afraid, we lived in a residencia with a duena because young unmarried Spanish women weren't allowed to live alone, young Spanish men would wolf whistle at us from across the Gran Via (seriously loud whistles!), but everyone felt safe. I returned in 1978-79 and again in 1985-86 to live and teach English and not too much had changed. I have visited a few times since then and have a dream of retiring in Spain. In my opinion, it's always worth returning even if you have to look a little harder for the old Spain you remember and loved. It's still there, I assure you:-)

      @@karenjohnson6667 ¡Muy buenas! Kindred souls, indeed. I studied at the Universidad de Sevilla (la fábrica de tabacos) in 1976-1977, and it was both fascinating and surreal. The sense of freedom following the death of el caudillo was palpable: students riding in cars sporting huge Spanish and Andalucia flags; fiestas at the facultad; music everywhere - a palpable sense that a pall had been lifted. Madrid was wonderful then as well; l'm sure much the same reaction to the lifting of a Fascist regime. Spain suffered mightily for 36 years. Remarkable time to be there. My spouse also studied there at the time. Her father was Basque, so she has primos in the Paîs Vasco. We will return soon. Love to hear more about your experiences in España. If you're inclined, I'm at hbclark3@gmailcom. Thanks for your erudite observations. ¡Buenas suerte y que todo lo pase bien!

    You can buy fresh milk. Us Brits living in Spain can't live without this. So anywhere where there are lots of Brits you will find milk. Also Lidl and Aldi supermarkets.

    I started watching you recently. Your videos are interesting. I just want you to add to the cost side other aspects, even if you don't use or buy them. For example, how much would a monthly subscription to a means of transportation cost. Or how much would a ticket to a football game cost? And so on...That can be useful!
    All the best

    Love your videos guys !! I have a question : while staying in Seville for a month, did you go on day trips for example to Cadiz, Cordoba or any other closer town ?

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 года назад +1

      Hi Nelly, thank you so much. We had family visit us in Sevilla so we did not have the opportunity. We had planned to go to Cordoba or Cadiz but it just didn't work out. Our Airbnb host said that if we were going on a day trip that Cardiz would be the place to go. We are excited that you get to explore Sevilla and the rest of the area for a month. Looking back it was the best month of our three in Spain. Safe travels.
      Cheers!!!🍻

    I like the real miscellaneous costs, even if you had to buy a coat. We had an Airbnb type rental in Bayeux, France also did not have a coffee maker. I found a hotel that served an American breakfast for my americano in the morning.

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 года назад

      Hi Susan, we mention other expenses, like the coats, because we did have extra costs. However we are trying to let viewers know what there approximate costs would be if they were to go to that location. Hopefully they pack accordingly 😉
      Our new airbnb is fantastic and it still doesn't have a coffee pot. Go figure 🤔
