Enjoyed watching you do your gravy prep Helen but after years of doing Christmas Dinner for the family, I'm so glad our daughter has now taken over! 👏 One of the perks of getting long in the tooth with snow on the roof! 😂
It doesn't seem like 12 months since you were prepping for Xmas. Great to watch. Like the look of the smart watch. I already have the vac and I'm very pleased with it.KEEP COOKING. TTFN xx
I agree, Helen, holidays are for sharing. My dad was in the US Marine Corps and we would often host a couple of young marines who had nowhere to go for holidays. My parents have always been the example to us of generosity and service to others.
Inspirational video Helen. The way I make pigs in blankets is, I stretch along the length of the bacon strip with the back of a knife, then one strip does two little piggies. Pigs in blankets, stuffing, veg and roast potatoes and of course gravy is the best part of Christmas dinner if you ask me. I really don’t care for turkey. This past Canadian thanksgiving we had two delicious free range chickens and that’s what we will do for Christmas, although since there will be more of us, we shall have to up the chickens.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thank you for another fab video Helen. 😊 I am totally with you on pre-prepping! Chrustmas day isn't for sweating away in the kitchen all day. I did my roasties ages ago as I wanted to use my home grown spuds, so they are waiting in the freezer. 😋 Thanks also for the cooking tips - can't believe a year has passed since the last time. Even though we are a veggie household, it is still useful for inspo. My top-tip for fellow non-meat eaters is to follow what you did here for stuffing and Pigs in Blankets, but instead use Richmond meat free sausages and This Isn't Bacon streaky (from Waitrose and Ocado - probably other places too.) Squeeze the sausage 'meat' out of the skins for the stuffing. This works wonders and tastes great. 👍 Looking forward to seeing more of your Christmas prep. I think all your viewers wish we were coming to spend the festive season with you! ❤
Its so interesting to see other countries christmas food. Fot us its christmas eve that is the most important day. A whole ham, mustard baked, served with some kind of cale. Smoked salmon, pickled herrings (around 5 sorts) cold Meats Meatballs, christmas bread, a gratain of sliced potatoes, onion and anchovies. And a lot more. The other days have different traditions depending on wich part in Sweden you Come from
I agree I’d rather have one of something lovely quality than three of something cheap tasting! You’re so organised for your Christmas dinner, you’ll just have to decorate the table X
Oh lovely Helen I will try the gravy for sure as always stressed with the gravy. Amazing. I love how you get so much prep done. Can’t believe I was watching you last Christmas getting ready. Omg the year has gone so quickly.
Wow, that gravy looks delicious. I make gravy with a chicken, roast or a turkey on Christmas Day. I put in a can of chicken stock or beef stock after ii has cooked for about an hour and then add the drippings and sometimes cup up a small piece of the roast or poultry chopped in it. I add flour and a bit of water or chicken stock in a container and shake it up and add it slowly till I get the taste I want. My mother taught me how to make this, I bet the vegetables add a lot of flavor. I may have to try it. Sounds delicious.
Hi Helen, really enjoyed watching you prep your gravy I’ve been making my gravy like this for years it saves so much time on the day the taste is so much better than pre-brought gravy. Thanks for all your tips. Xxx
Hi Helen, you are hilarious. Yes have to be good sausages and bacon. Absolutely love your cooking videos. Your mum reminds me of my own late mum. Yes Church, after we opened our presents, breakfast. Then mum in the kitchen preparing and cooking Xmas lunch forever. In fact my daughter who did remark once, Does Gran actually live in the kitchen😂 Thanks again Helen xx
That is a great value for the watch, however I still prefer your “proper “ watch. It’s a classic. Thanks for taking the time to share your choices with us. 😊
Hi Helen I really enjoyed that your always so calm nothing seems to phase you .Thankyou for you time , you hints and tips I’m going to make that gravy n do the pigs in blankets n freeze them .The first time we has pigs in blankets was when my daughters husband then boyfriend came for Christmas ,he’s from London and he actually made them it wasn’t a thing here in Ireland ,not that I knew of anyway .We have them all the time now they all love them here .take care looking forward to your next one thanks again xxC
Hi Helen. If I have any left over bacon I make up an Apple and cranberry box stuffing, make them into balls and then wrap the bacon around them and cook with the pigs blanket. I always make lots of extra of both, as they are the first things to go and are just as good food on a buffet. I've enjoyed watching this video, thank you.
Thank you Helen really enjoyed watching you do your gravy I always make mine in advance then I put it in slow cooker Christmas morning best hack ever ❤
Hi Helen, nearly caught up with all your reels. 👏You are Wonder Woman. Love following what’s going on in your life. I know some would say, get a life, but my busy days are long gone now and it’s great following yours.💕
I prepare some things in advance to freeze. I make sausage rolls with cooked onions mixed in good sausage meat and some chopped sage. They taste lovely. Make bread sauce and freeze it. Mince pies. Jars of pickled onions. Christmas cake. Amongst other things. I have done this seems like forever, I am 77 yrs. every year I say I am not doing it all again. Not sure when that will happen. These days it’s only myself and husband plus our two daughters. I agree with you Helen it’s all about tradition.
Now if that doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit i don’t know what would. I like the idea of pre prep it does mean less worry and more fun.xx Ps i picked up my M&S basket of Apothecry (can’t spell it) goodies today. Hubby is doing well with his shopping list for me lol. Thanks to you Helen (Mrs Santa)
Wish I had know you years ago Helen. It would have saved me so much stress. For the first time we are not doing Christmas dinner this year ,which is weird. We have been invited to step granddaughter in law. But all your tips will be stored in my brain for future years. Regarding the hoover, I would not be without mine so thanks for the tip on that too
I really don't know why every vacuum cleaner doesn't have a light on the front ! Best thing since sliced bread ! I am from Edinburgh but got married and moved to South Africa in 1975 - don't ask 🤣🤣. We moved into our first house in 1976 and bought fridge, chest freezer, floor polisher and vacuum cleaner second hand . It was a golden yellow( ?) upright Hoover with a light on the front. I loved that machine and it lasted for years after I bought it, in fact I think I may have passed it on, still in working order. Oldies but goodies, hey ? I am now living in the north of Portugal and since Brexit 🙄most of your shopping videos don't apply but your "at home" and Christmas prep is very welcome. Carry on carrying on xx
I worked for Hoover in Scotland for 35 years. The Cambuslang factory produced the vacuum cleaners and it always amazes me how many people say they are going to hoover their carpets when they should be saying vacuum their carpets 😂 ie I am going to hoover my carpets but hey are actually using a Dyson or Shark etc 😅
Hi Helen, oh I wish I had known about the watch and hoover some while ago. My Samsung watch does everything the same as the Parsonver except I can pay!!! Very rarely use. Mine even looks the same. I have the Dyson and yet again your Ultenic does everything mine does but soooo much cheaper and it seems more powerful…… Your cooking skills make life so much easier and who could blame you, clearly it works and your family love it. Definately will give it a try. Thank once again Helen xx
Drove by a bill board sign today in the capital city of Washington state and it advertised a country western vocal band called “HELL’s BELLES”! Thought of your channel!
So much fun to watch you take the ‘day of’ stress away! While my freezer is not large now, it does really appeal! Here in the US Thanksgiving does look a lot like this Christmas lunch. Pigs in Blankets are sausages rolled in pancakes or hot dogs rolled in pastry dough and baked. Like your version! Putting cranberries into the gravy is novel to me, but can totally see it! Question: what do you do for your full English breakfast? ❤
Hi, it's cranberry sauce into the gravy. English breakfast generally has fried egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, black pudding, hash brown, tomatoes and baked beans. It varies, but that's the bulk of it. xx
Hi Helen , i made the stuffing you do last year wow so easy and very nice everyone enjoyed it! went on to make the sausage rolls too so tasty . probably told you this last year but we have out Christmas dinner on Christmas eve there's 7 of us incl 2 grandchildren . then we can relax more on the big day opening pressies etc then have a more simple meal later on, it works for us xx
Love your food prep Helen your so organised.😊.yes we'd always have a full English on Christmas morning!,then a n enormous lunch at 3 ....oh yes chocolate in between and more!!!!.mum would also get up at 6am ......why ?😆 great as always Helen, happy days x
Really enjoyed watching you do the stuffing, gravy and pigs in blanket… I’m going to do mine like that next week as I’m going on a cruise next Thursday and won’t be back until 8 Dec leaving me not a lot of time..,I might not get all of them done but certainly the pigs in blanket and stuffing… thank you ….
The only down side of your video is in so hungry now, 😊🍷I really enjoy your cooking at home with helen videos ,it's hard to believe a year has come and gone since your last Christmas prep video❤
We had plain bacon rolls with the Christmas lunch, but not a chipolata wrapped in bacon. Here in the US it's so hard to find a good sausage, but I just found a place that has Cumberland and Lincolnshire pork sausages, regular and chipolata, along with back bacon, and they ship it all to you in a freezer pack! Worth the shipping costs! (For anyone interested, it is Jolly Posh Foods, out of Illinois). I do a similar stuffing, but shape it into balls, so that each piece has all the crispy bits! Only the two of us for Christmas lunch these days, but the amount of work is the same, just the quantity changes!
Hi Helen, I agree with the comments from your viewers…… great to watch you prepping and just wish I had a bigger freezer…..only three drawers, but have always managed. The family have come to me forever, and wouldn’t have it any other way while I am able, and so much easier when planned ahead. Made your sausage rolls last year!🏴xx
Thanks so much for this, Helen….I am late to the game in preparing ahead of time and just now learning how to prepare in advance, freeze and thaw for the big day…I really appreciate the pointers, thank you!
Helllo helen my mum used use pork sausage meat in stuffing which i now allways have over the years , going be lovley for u this xmas time 😊 helles beles x

Hi Helen, love watching you cook! I made your pigs in blankets last year after watching you prep them. Delicious 😊 much better than the pigs in blankets I had growing up in Canada ; which were a mini hotdog wrapped in “crescent dough”. I’ve heard great things about Jamie’s make ahead gravy and will definitely try it this year.
Hi Helen I make Jamie Oliver’s Xmas gravy every year it is simply the best. The aroma in The kitchen is so good. I didn’t catch the name of the watch . Can you repeat for me please. Many thanks Cathy M
Enjoyed watching you do your gravy prep Helen but after years of doing Christmas Dinner for the family, I'm so glad our daughter has now taken over! 👏 One of the perks of getting long in the tooth with snow on the roof! 😂

Doesn’t feel like a year ago I was watching you prepping for Christmas Helen.
The lady you have coming around is in for a treat this year xx
The year has certainly flown by xx
Such a joy to watch you Helen. Thank you for all you do and inspire. xxx
My pleasure xx
I'm with you on the sausages, my husband calls me a sausage snob.😊
I am, it's true xx
Love to watch your prepping for Christmas. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.😁😁
And just like that the year has flown by xx
😂😂oh Helen you did make me laugh whilst talking about sausages, great video I loved it thank you x

But you've got the snow I expect xx
Thanks Helen, I just bought the watch. Such a good idea to try out an entry level smart watch before committing to an expensive one, great idea! 😊
Hope you love it xx

Thanks so much for this, Helen….I am late to the game in preparing ahead of time and just now learning how to prepare in advance, freeze and thaw for the big day…I really appreciate the pointers, thank you!
It really helps xx
The look on your face after you said you like a good sausage was priceless❣️🤣😂🤣
Ooh er! haha xx

Great wee video Helen…..I’m gonna make the stuffing mix I think, and pop in freezer. Oh I do love a nice sausage too😅😅. Currently prepping some food for friends coming for dinner later. Enjoy rest of your weekend ❤
Hope you had a lovely time xx
The gravy looks delicious ❤❤❤
It really is xx
No pigs in blankets in the US,and yes Thanksgiving is the turkey holiday here,of course some people have turkey at Christmas too,but I think often some other sort of luxury item, like duck, standing rib roast, rack of lamb,or a nice steak. One year I made a Coulibiac of salmon.Italians have the feast of the seven fishes on Christmas Eve ,and in NYC the Chinese restaurants have their biggest day of the year,as many non Christians eat out on that day,
Sounds fabulous xx
As always loved watching I’m in with you about inviting I’ve had so many around my table the one Christmas that’s brings to mind is my daughter brought the old tramp who lived in the woods along with his dog say no more have a lovely weekend x
What a lovely daughter you have. xx
Thanks Helen - doesn't seem long since you were doing this last year! xxx
It wasn't! haha xx
I absolutely loved this video, Helen! I can't believe it's a year since I was watching your last Christmas cooking prep video. I'll definitely give the Jamie Oliver recipe a go. Thank you so much ❤x
Glad you enjoyed it xx
Great ideas Helen and the way I would do the stuffing and pigs in blankets , I make my gravy on the day from the turkey juices and veg water but can see your way would be good too and even if you wanted to still do that you could use this as a good stock base too !! xx
It just makes life easier on the day xx
@@Helenmaryjo totally agree !! you have inspired me to do more prep ahead !!!!
Definitely buy the best sausages. My butcher makes his own they are delicious. As is his meat quality. Brilliant prep. Thank You 🙏💙💜💚❤️
Great to hear! xx
Yum! Never thought to wrap sausages with bacon- brilliant! Your sausages are way better than ours tho.
When my sons came for Christmas dinner they would eat the pigs in blankets as they were coming out of the oven so I would make double the amount. I miss those days xx😢
Yes, they are very moreish xx
Lovely video Helen. Great idea to do all that prep! I think Fanny Craddock once said she felt that Christmas was just about slave labor for the women!😂 I appreciate that quote is about as old as me and out of date….its not just the women who cook! But it’s slave labour for whoever is cooking in the house so why not make it easier! ❤
Anything to make it easier is my motto xx
Thank you for sharing this Helen, excellent! Looking up both the watch and hoover.😊x
Thank you xx
Hellooo Helen. I put 4 eggs in my stuffing, and it adds a bit more flavour .Thank you.x

Very enjoyable watching you prep for Christmas. Can you t ell me the make of your air fryer? I have a cosori but it is so noisy you cannot talk to anyone in the kitchen whilst it is on. Yours seem a lot quieter. Thank you.
Hi, thank you, it's an Ultenic xx
Sooo funny??and really helpful ideas even though I’m not a meat eater , thankyou
Thank you xx
I SEE NOW WHAT YOU PUT YOUR VEGS IN I JUST SAW YOU PULL OUT THE AIR FRYER TRAY WHAT TEMPERATURE DO YOU PUT IT AT AND HOW LONG FOR.

Thank you 🎄
Helen I really enjoyed this video thank you. xXx
My pleasure xx
You make it look so easy! Might have to try the gravy as it looks delicious x
It really is xx
Great ideas, Helen. How do you cook without an apron?
Carefully! haha xx
The sausage comment was so funny 😂😂😂
Good fun to watch. Do you never wear an apron ?, I was worried about your cream top when watching 😊
I do sometimes. xx
Thank you for sharing Helen. ❤
Where has this year gone ? 🤔
Good question! haha xx
Hi Helen I make Jamie Oliver’s Xmas gravy every year it is simply the best. The aroma in The kitchen is so good. I didn’t catch the name of the watch . Can you repeat for me please. Many thanks Cathy M
It's Parsonver, link in the description box xx
Do you cook everything from frozen, or take it out the day before? Such a good idea, and less washing up if you cook it all n the foil dishes.x
I take it out the day before and leave it in a cool place and yes cook in the foil dishes. xx
💜
Just ordered pink watch😊
Nice xx
❤❤❤
Huge Brucie bonus for me if I got a date 😂😂
Haha, me too xx
IT DIDN'T SHOW ME THE BEGINNING OF YOUR VIDEO .WHAT DID YOU PUT ALL THE VEGS AND CHICKEN WINGS INTO ???
All in the air fryer and roasted for 30 to 40 mins on 180, or until they are lightly browned. xx
Where's the bread sauce ?
Vital accompaniment to Xmas dinner !
It's coming. I'll do it with the next lot. I didn't have any white bread xx
helen why do you have 4 ovens
Two ovens, two microwaves. I need two ovens if I'm cooking for a crowd and two microwaves for symmetry.... haha xx
Oh Helen, your expression when you were talking about sausages was hilarious
Ooh err! haha xx
DOES ANY OF YOUR CHILDREN LIKE TO COOK AND USE YOUR RECIEPTS ❤
My children are all good cooks in their own right xx
