    I had one of these. Lasted a month. Sold it and bought a used Single Rec. Used the 700 dollars left over to get other gear i thought I needed. Sigil seems like a very specific tool for a very specific player. Might just be my stupid opinion. But lunch box heads always seem to have weak thinness in the tone department.
    Anyway. Super accurate demo and review Arnold. Plus it came with some great riffs in the intro. Good to see these reviews are as solid and as they were a couple of years ago.

    Intro song was badass man. Now the amp, costs about the same as an evh 50w stealth or a revv g20, but doesn't have quite the feature set of either. Does it make up for it in tone? I get that Fortin reputation carries a premium, but is this better than an invective mh or a mt 15 even?

    • @jd426
      @jd426 3 года назад +1

      I have the randall diavlo. Mike fortin designed. Blows my invective away.

  • @lichkrieg4898
    @lichkrieg4898 3 года назад +6

    the grind pedal kinda sucked the beef out of the tone. I bet a drop E would sound good how you dialed it, but I found it lacking for a standard tuned riff.

    • @iagopedroni2451

      People use boost pedals even when it's not necessary these days

    • @jd426
      @jd426 3 года назад

      Older boost pedals might have been better.

    • @lichkrieg4898
      @lichkrieg4898 3 года назад

      touche, I tend to use the boost pedal as an eq to kill that low end from my 8 strings. also I use less gain on the amp as well. for my katana I use the boost to tighten up the signal into the amp and then eq. same with my joyo mjolnir similar setup and the tones have a kick while still cutting through with the band or mic'd up. I think with an already tight amp, you gotta kick up the bass on the amp and cut some presence/treble.

    • @lichkrieg4898
      @lichkrieg4898 3 года назад +4

      dude. 7's are so much fun, I play 8 mostly these days. The 8's are tough to get a well rounded tone, but 7's are easy to work with and they're beefy as all hell.

    • @cmd_f5
      @cmd_f5 3 года назад

      7s are great. All I use now. Might grab a 6 again down the road but I had to make a choice on one beast axe to keep when traveling and my 7 stayed haha

  • @lichkrieg4898
    @lichkrieg4898 3 года назад +2

    Sounds badass, but you could make a cardboard box sounds good. I have the Joyo Mjolnir, and it's not the same amp at all the tone stack is very meh. However throw an EQ in the loop and it's a beeeeast. I'd give a shit and a nut for a fortin branded amp.

    Sounds great but £939 for a lunchbox? Price is quite steep when you think about it. In that price range you can actually afford a Mesa Triaxis. Add £200 and you can buy a 50W power amp to that.
