- OMG... This has to be one of THE most underrated and one of the most epic games I have EVER played! This game has a really good storyline and its all dark and gritty.
Anyways this track plays (spoilers) as Jackie Estacado goes to finish his business with Uncle Paulie and storms his lighthouse home. As Jackie drew ever closer to his ultimate revenge, The Darkness grew stronger with every kill, every act of hate, and most of all: The Eclipse. If you have not played this game:

I love this game so much its so under rated. Such a mature and dark story and so emotionally powerful.
Victor Katilis underrated as in not nearly as many people played as should have. I studied game design for 3 years with about 50 different people and only one other person had played it. Out of all my friends online only 2 have played it. Also there was no need for insults lol.
i remember it was the first game where i actually really wanted to kill the antagonist. the game sets you up to like jenny, and you got paulie doing his thing, and the darkness making you sit back and watch. the ending is great too, but sad all at the same time. its a really good game.
the darkness had such an amazing soundtrack, especially the metal parts. so much adrenaline

I’m a huge gamer I play all kinds of games ... The Darkness is easily my favorite game / game story of all time ... nothing compares to the epic ness of smashing a gang of mobsters with your Darkness powers while your minions are shooting them with mini guns , then proceeding to devour their hearts ! So dope

The 2nd one played better for sure and had all the stuff a newer game gets like graphics and mechanics. But the 1st game was so unique and hand crafted. The gameplay in the first one was very weak. Gunplay felt weird and just overall not good. But everything and I mean literally everything else made up for it. The music, the atmosphere, the voice acting, the story, the environments, the New York subway, even the loading screens were better. The NYC subway I used to ride everyday for years was made more accurately in this game than anywhere else. I'm usually a gameplay over anything kinda guy, where if the gameplay feels good then you can put up with a mediocre story or a bland soundtrack that is unmemorable. But, if the gameplay feels bad than the game is unplayable. That is my philosophy for every game I've ever played and it holds true 99% of the time. That rare 1% is this game where the gameplay feels odd, stiff and sometimes just worse than games from the previous gen.
But the story? The loading screens alone hold more emotional weight than the entire story of most games. The music? There's a reason we're all here listening to this song. The environments? I still see very few games get the NYC subway down correctly. The ambiance? Unparalleled. Every other aspect of this game makes up for the gameplay. This is also a game based on the comics and done better than other comic book games. Fantastic game.
i disagree with what you said about the gameplay in my opinion, some of the weapons are pretty bad but once you get a feel for the game it’s super fun

I discovered these games through the second one, and GOD DAMN IT the first one is so much better ! So dark, so serious yet emotional ! The WW1 part always brings terror into my very soul
