Nicest glider Carl Goldberg ever designed. It was more like a pet than a model. I think I'll build another.

Nice job! Pretty plane! I've built 2 GLs and a Sophisticated Lady. Never thought to scale down.
I have two suggestions: 1. Carry a towel to dry off the plane before the next flight. Water drops create unneeded drag. 2. When flying at an airport, try your best to stay upwind of the runway. This keeps you out of the pattern and wingtip vortexes that can stay on the ground for some time. Keep 'em flying!!!

Thanks for your good suggestions. Our airport is private, and not open to other planes. The traffic is very limited.

Would you indulge a few questions?
What was the intent of the modifications? Did you realize your goals? Have you flown an unmodified GL, and can you make a comparison in regards to performance, handling, etc.? I am beginning a GL build, and I am considering some modifications, myself.
Yours turned out beautifully, and she appears to fly great! Congratulations!

Thank you for your comment. I wanted a glider to start modeling again after a 45-year break. I also wanted a model that would easily fit in my car to get flying in few minutes. I reduced GL to 1.5 m, put on a Selig S3014 profile, lengthened the nose a bit to avoid adding too much ballast. I have lightened the construction a lot. This model flies very well. It catches thermals easily and flights of 10 minutes or more are common. I have never flown a GL built like the original plan.
