I just finished putting all my star burst on and now fixing to attach my squaers. It's turning out so beautiful. Thank you for this pattern.. it's most definantly my favorite stitch so far. Planning on starring a second one as soon as I finish this one. You are a very good instructor. Thank you for all your help.
What a beautiful blanket. After seeing your first video on how to do the square, I noticed my mother had a similar square in her kitchen that she use as a pot holder. My mother is 80 years old and she tells me that this was the first granny square that she learned from her mother. After seeing your video I thought wouldn’t be nice if I made her her blanket using those square. Thank you Anya as always I love your video.
Omg before I saw this I used the Anna star square and made almost this exact blanket. I used Parma lime wisteria white and meadow. I put the singles on the back like the original. It was quick and easy! Loved it!!!!
What an amazing blanket. The colors are so nice together. I might make it when my first AND the Lizzie is done. Might take ten years i think😅😅 but i am getting faster and faster. Thank you Anja, for sharing❤️
I’m making a larger version in wisteria, violet, bluebell, lavender and plum. I notice you leave some squares without the starburst. As I’ve made eight of each colour I’m going to leave three blank of each colour with the proviso that when I’ve crocheted it together and i think it needs starbursts adding to plain squares I can then work them in later. Thanks Anna for this inspiring blanket. I’m making it for my very ill mum.
Thank you for the tutorial😍😍it is beautiful. Is it enough to use one yarn for each of the color ? And can you give approximate size of the blanket and can we use it for newborn baby?
This blanket was made with our natural colour pack which contains 3 balls of each colour containing 15 balls in total. This will give you a a single bed size blanket. To make it to the size shown you only need half of that.
This is crazy... I'm making a baby blanket for my soon to be grandson and I made filet squares like you the difference is I didn't make the starburst in the middle, I made it in three colors and two of the colors have both open and closed squares (one square of 12 is open and one square of 12 is closed squares), and I have single crochets along the outer perimeter. This video popped up on my recommendations tonight as I was finishing my last square. I was going to join them differently but I like the way you joined your squares so I think I may copy you( I was going to join them with sc no chain st.). Your blanket is beautiful. I would love to send you a picture of my finished project. Please let me know where to send it.
I want to make this blanket but I was just concerned about the embroidery that is done in a few of the squares. What happens to the back, do you just have to sew the ends in. I don’t want to put a backing on the blanket…❤. Is the yarn available in a kit from you ? Thank you for all your patience and your gorgeous tutorials love it. Xx from Australia ..
Hello Denise, this yarn pack is available on our website and you can find it here: www.opheliatalkscrochet.com/stylecraft-special-dk-yarn-packs/stylecraft-neutral-colours Also, I have a video coming out today (6pm UK time) on how to make the stars.
Would like to purchase the yarn pack for the duckpond blanket, STYLECRAFT SPECIAL DK NEUTRAL COLOUR PACK ….how many squares does this yarn make and what is the blanket size please…
I just finished making this blanket and absolutely love it, however, all of my stars are coming undone!!!! I tried tying knots in them and trimming the ends but they still come out. I tried doing the wrap around twice that you showed in your other video (with the pink version of the blanket) and they are still coming out. I have had to take them all out and now I have the finished blanket but not stars. SUCH a HUGE disappointment. Any suggestions for how I can try them again and have them not come undone?
Oh no Dawn, I've never had this problem! Even after many washes mine still stay put, I will have a think about it and see what I can come up with, Anja x
This tutorial is very good I love it . I know several have asked for a pattern and you’ve not answered. I went to your website to see if there were patterns for sale and I couldn’t find any . Can you tell me if there is only the video and no written pattern ? Also the way you end and start threads , for the star ,they won’t fall apart when it’s being laundered
Hi Virginia, no there is no written pattern for this tutorial yet. About the stars, they won't come undone when you wash the blanket as I have washed mine already twice. When I have a written pattern, I will make sure everyone will find it. Hope this helps.
I wish you didn't skip showing the joining in the other direction of the strips. What did you do in the intersection of each strip??? It may not be obvious to everyone. Even just showing how you did one intersection would have been helpful.
Exactly the same! Just do a CH and go over to the next two squared! In fact that direction is easier as they are already attached!! Try it you will see! Happy crocheting! Anja xxx
Eine wunderbare Arbeit, diese Farben sind so schön💝danke

The chain 1 goes over the top of the intersection of the squares in the opposite direction. Hope this helps you.
How do I buy the pattern?
The video is the pattern!
