So i feel bad for saying this; I've only recently decided to get back into my faith. I started my Wiccan studies back in Dec 2010. I never got to fully explore it while living in my mother's house as she did not want it in there. I identified as Pagan then but couldn't even partake in any holidays. I had to stop everything and, after recently finding my 'Draft' Book of shadows (called it that until it was informed enough to transfer it to another one) it looks like I stopped Aug 2011. Recently turned 30 and now after living on my own now for almost 3yrs, I decided to get back into it and was wondering should I restart my year and a day before self dedicating? Should I start over a new book? Should I treat everything as a newbie? Very sorry to be a bother
Not a bother at all! I would say its a good idea to completely start as a newbie especially as so many new books have been released and back in 2010 I remember books were much more limited and of course a lot has changed, even within the craft. I would say if you want to do a self dedication and you want to do a year and a day, start that from the beginning too! For Wicca I highly recommend Thorn Mooney as author Best wishes on your journey! 🤍

I appreciate this greatly as this path is very much connecting with me, I dont really know where to begin or I suppose continue. The books are great, thank you, would there be others you would suggest? I do find myself very connected to the moon cycle... wish there was someone to talk to, this certainly isn't like going to church and listening to a priest's teaching, this almost seems to have a feeling of finding your own path, am I correct in this?
Unsure, but as an atheist, my family and I celebrate Christmas, Easter, etc because we used to be Christian and it became a part of my life from the beginning
Christmas is based on the Pagan holiday Yule or Jul - I definitely suggest looking into that more! Most Christmas traditions are Pagan and present in Wicca so it is really easy to adapt and still celebrate with your family and not ‘notice’ much of a difference (especially if your family doesn’t yet know you are a Wiccan) 🤍
Of course you can, Christmas (Yule) is a Pagan holiday so is Easter (Ostara) and Halloween (Samhain) the church took those holidays and mixed them into their own teachings, I`m a Pagan (Tuatha De Danann) my beliefs pre-date Celtic Paganism by about 5500 years, I know a lot about Wicca and how it was developed by Gerald Gardner (British civil servant) and it was introduced to the public in 1954, I could say so much more about that guy but its not my place ;) I wish you well on your Wiccan journey may your mind be ever clear and your heart forever blessed, Peace and love to you from Ireland Sister...

First I'd like to say that the Wiccan religion is absolutely beautiful, but yes. Some of us practice what is referred to as "Traditional witchcraft " which has many similarities to Wicca. Bothe of these practices also have to the same roots.
I'd say a very large percentage of Witches do not subscribe to the Wiccan religion. And if you wish to partake in the Wiccan religion then have at it! There are no rules that say what you can or cannot do.

A person is doesnt matter how or what its how you feel and listen in part of view that you hear and listen and how you unserstand a ancient ways they understand you . Not many ever to astroprojection to temple's or hunters moon ,.. its your own path to choose from is the oldest way has long they understand you . I'm most likely some kinda agnostic, I believe that there might be some higher power, but it's not there for us, like we're just a footnote. I also believe that crystals have a positive psychological (which can be interpreted as spiritual) effect, not a physical one.
You might find secular witchcraft interesting, it’s more of the belief in energy around us in nature, but no Gods etc, and some also have a more ‘scientific’ approach. Chaos Magick is also interesting, it’s name doesn’t mean its chaotic magick, it just is a very specific sort of approach to magick in that you do whatever gives you results even if it seems a bid odd for example

I used to self-harm for 5 years, Wicca helped me a lot in healing. Honestly the best advise I could give myself would be to try and find someone to help you and understand you, as your feelings are absolutely valid and you deserve to talk it through. Also, what helped me was to view my body as a part of nature and as something sacred, just as I would not cut an animal or a tree to harm them, I tried to apply that to my own body too. But - it is hard and I relapsed a lot, it takes time to heal 🤍 Wicca does have the Wiccan Rede which says ‘Harm None’ - however it is a poem and not law, you won’t be dismissed by Wicca/Wiccans or the Gods if you do relapse 🤍 Sending love! Hi Ivan. I'm not an initiate, but I do have some outercourt training in Alexandrian and Gardnerian tradition, and I'm also pretty strongly on the traditional side of practice when it comes to wicca. I've also been a practicing wiccan since the mid 1980s. Wicca does not necessarily need to involve Magick. It's a choice and they go well together. Just saying :)
