Thank god you made this video! People always asked me to make an Apex video, but I never really played Apex, so it would be a huge time investment. I'm so thankful rn, you rock, keep up! Edit: the only thing I would change is properly calibrating the dots per 360 settings, so the sensitivity slider won't be just an arbitrary number. And change the gyro orientation to Player Space to accommodate different hand positions. I would also just upload this config on Steam so people don't need to spend time replicating the config themselves. Other than that, it's perfect!
Temporarily bind a button in SteamInput to "Turn Camera 360" from the "Camera" tab when selecting an action for a button (i.e. same place you're picking keyboard/mouse buttons). (I use left trackpad click myself) When you press the "Turn Camera 360" button you've just bound, it's outputting 360 degrees worth of mouse pixels. If that ends up turning you too much or too little in game, tweak the Dots per 360 value (should be visible in a few places when you're editing your config). The benefit is, if you calibrate this right, you can carry your "real world sensitivity" across games. That means that you can tune every game to what you're used to, just by getting the Dots per 360 correct. It also helps the "Reset Camera To Horizon" action to work correctly. And FlickStick, too! Basically, "Gyro to Mouse" "Flick Stick" and the other camera actions are generating camera angles, and "Dots per 360" helps you translate those angles into in-game angles, via the mouse.
@@SpiderChamp2005 extessy is one of the first boosters for gyro aim, but I remember him binding it to joystick which is frowned upon (and always feels worse than using it to emulate mouse). Outside of apex, there are a lot of gyro aim users. It's only just catching on with apex because aim assistance used to make developing your aiming skills redundant.
3:02 Instead of recording your binds then tabbing out of the game, you can just use the steam overlay (press shift+tab) and edit your steam controller configs in there. Anytime you need to see the binds again, just press shift+tab.
Without doing all this and keeping aim assist, it still takes more skill to play Apex on controller because you have none of that insane movement and enemy tap strafing brakes aim assist anyway. You low IQ players need to stop crying about aim assist like it's aim bot. You sound dumb as hell. People that are actually good on m&k slam controller players all the time with no problem(in apex) because this game caters to m&k players. Put your m&k down, switch to controller, try and play, and I promise you'll be switching right back to m&k fast as hell. The only reason pros switch to it is because this movement is banned at the pro level for tournaments and such. So on a pro level, yes, the controller is a better option(for some) but just ranked and pubs NO WAY is it op.
Finally. A good use for the touchpad. Lol. Seriously though, anyone setting up gyro, you should properly calibrate it with the games mouse sensitivity. With a sensitivity of 3, use gyro to mouse [beta] and set the dots per pixels to 5454. This works in every source engine game as well as classic id tech games like quake 1-3. THEN you can adjust the *Gyro Sensitivity*. The default sens is 2.5 which means the camera will rotate 2.5x faster than your controller. The gyro sensitivity directly corresponds to your real world rotation. 1 rotation in the real world is 2 and a half rotations in game which is 900°s. Adjust it to whatever feels right to you, and if your aim feels shaky, try lowering vertical Sensitivity and play with smoothing. FYI, too much smoothing can be a bad thing.
Calibrating Dots Per 360 to a game's mouse sensitivity setting is essential for Flick Stick. For Apex Legends, Dots Per 360 can be found with this formula: 360 / 0.022 / sensitivity 360 / 0.022 / 2.5 = 6545.454545 (decimal places are ignored, so just 6545 can be used)
Btw if anybody was wondering, this is all also achievable on any ps4 controller as well. Gotta random 15 dollar one off Amazon it came with back buttons and still had gyro.
I couldn't see whether or not you response curve was on linear or wide or whatever , but it seems like for "joystick mouse" the default is wide which makes sense. I have been messing around with my binds and aim for a day now... biggest difference in feel is when you switch response curve to "linear" it is almost unplayable , but on wide it is way smoother and kinda feels like my old controller sense.
not sure if im js an idiot but at around 6:00 u said to fill in the rest of my settings and i dont really know how or what to put as each button i need to literally be handheld through every step
ALSO: An easier way of finding and communicating gyro sensitivity is RWS (Real World Sensitivity). It's basically how many times spinning your controller in real life would spin the camera in-game A RWS of 1 would mean the movement is entirely 1:1, and a RWS of 3 would mean 1 full spin of the controller in real life is 3 spins in Apex. There are ways of calibrating this to find the sensitivity automatically, but they could include math and whatnot so it'd take a little more time to set up
@@rMizery If you're using "gyro to mouse [beta]" (which I remcommend) you go to your dots per 360 slider and you change the value to 16165. Then you divide the number 16165 by your in game mouse sensitivity. Once you've found your calibrated dots per 360, you use the sensitivity multiplier below that to adjust your gyro sensitivity. If you did it correctly 1x sensitivity means 1 real world rotation = 1 360 rotation in game. 2x sensitivity means 1 real world rotation = 2 360 rotations in game, so on and so forth. This makes selecting sensitivity easy in the long run if you want to transfer your gyro sensitivity to other games.
This is really interesting to me, so Mizery, you play with gyro always on, but no ratchet button (that turns gyro off when holding/presing it?), so you just use the analog to adjust and compensate for the need to "reset" the controller to a proper position?
Some people don't have the desk space for mnk, or just prefer the feel of a controller. Having more options for raw input, aiming without the need for aim assist, benefits everyone.
Yay, I thought apex was banning people for using gyro. When all that stuff happened. I couldn't find a way to scroll down when in a loot box. Maybe the swipe thing will be the answer
