@jayherbogaming True actually. They had mad beef too, didn't they? Must have messed his head up to lose to someone he hated so much. And then finding out he was probably juicing the whole time too.
No, I thought Strickland had a good chance going into the fight. I probably would have put it at about 60/40 in Izzy's favor, and I was very surprised at how dominant Strickland was, but I knew he had a better chance than most people were giving him.
@@markzuckergecko621 That's not a bad percentage I guess. Went did you think he had a chance though? For me, I think Strickland got in his head pre-fight, AND won the fans over. Strickland's defense was astounding during the fight though

That’s not really the correct definition of MMA math. By MMA math calculations, Dustin would lose to Islam because Islam beat Oliveira, who beat Dustin. Predicting that Dustin will lose to Islam because Islam is an insanely strong pressure grappler, the kryptonite of modern Dustin, isn’t MMA math. It’s actual analysis
Strickland will always be in The Top 3 for craziest underdog victories in UFC History. Sean literally made a Prime Izzy look like he never belonged in the sport.
Yep. The betting line doesn’t always tell the story. Peoples records don’t always tell the story. Peoples previous opponents. Don’t always tell the story. Yea that's about the most excusable upset lose you can think of. Not just the pokes, the shear fact that he's a 9 foot sasquatch person, how do you train for that? Thank you for reminding me of that bad decision in Cannonier vs Strickland. Strickland out struck him badly volume wise, and I think the only reason it was given to Cannonier is because of Sean's bloody nose.
Damage is the first criteria. Sean had volume but not power as opposed to Jared who hits like a truck. Throwing a jab for 3 rounds is fine and all but when some mixes it up and does more damage then you lose
He almost did, in all fairness. The cut on islam's face was nasty enough to warrant a doctah's stoppage if poirier made it open up more, but Islam weathered the storm.
Wonderboy fought two-time NCAA Division II All-American wrestler Jake Ellenberger right before Hendricks, but go off about him not fighting wrestlers I guess.
Completely disagree with the Lewis vs Blaydes pick. Sure everyone expected the whole fight to go like the 1st round did, but nobody counted out Lewis ability to flatline Blaydes with 1 good shot.
Sean strickland is in his best game when his opponent is constantly going back and izzy does exactly that hes a counter heavy out fighter that’s exactly what sean wants izzy isnt a power puncher sean on purely style would win but everyone hyped izzy up so much they didnt look at what sean had done
he did zero damage to Jared through the entire fight. You can land pit pat shots all you want but volume isn't a scoring criteria, damage is. Nick Diaz used to pitpat and then once his opponent was cooked he'd lay the power on and land big shots, Sean's boxing is like Nick without any of the finishing instinct.
Poirier is my favorite fighter but I honestly dont see him winning. Only way would be if he can somehow keep the fight on the feet. Which even then he wont be able to let his hands go comfortably due to the threat of the takedown.
I really would like to see Dustin win, but I don't see that happening unfortunately. Styles make fights, and this is a bad style matchup for Dustin.
