Join me as I gather my fabrics and ponder on how to start my field notes journal that I’m stitching along to with #roxysjournalofstitchery.
I now have a Facebook group where we can share all things slow stitch. I’d love to see your projects too.

I really like all the different pages. It makes it look like the journal was put together on the spot with bits of paper as an idea came up. So clever!!
Thanks so much Robin - that the look I was going for, so glad you think so - Sally 🌸🌼🌸
The Sunshine looks beautiful 😊
Thanks so much, I was worried you may not be able to see properly 🌼🌸🌼
Loved spending my Friday evening watching you in your dappled sun creativity. I love how you share the figuring out process which is just what I like to share too. The plan evolves as we play with what we have. I think there’s always so much creative spark with a new project that many of us have so many ideas bubbling up. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Thanks Christine, I’ve got too many (is this possible???) ideas at the moment they just can’t be contained - but that’s the beauty of a note book, I’m going to refer back to when I might have a mental block further down the road. I’m so enjoying watching your creative spark too and was wishing I’d thought of your specimen tin idea - I think this is going to be such an inspired way to take the field notes theme. I look forward to seeing your videos pop up on my feed - have a good weekend! Sally x
It's a great start,Sally! Love all your plans as usual and the title page ideas are brilliant! TFS ❤
Thanks so much Giusi 🌸🌼🌸
Using a typewriter was genius! Loved that idea. I bet there will be a run on typewriters now.😊 your title page is beautiful.
Thanks so much Jeanette, I just love the typeface of the old typewriter, I think it adds a touch of vintage 🌸🌼🌸
Great start . I'll start mine tomorrow . Happy stitching.😊
Thanks so much Pat and good luck with.yours too - happy stitching 🌼🌸🌼
Your fabrics are beautiful. 💜💜💜
Thanks so much 🌸🌼🌸
Love all your ideas for the journal it’s definitely given me lots of inspiration to make a start on mine 😊
Thanks so much for your lovely comments Tracey, good luck with your project too! Happy stitching 🌸🌼🌸
Beautiful fabrics
Thanks so much 🌸🌼🌸
I am thinking I'll do mine by the month. Especially since I spend the winter in a warmer climate, my 'notes' will be widely dissimilar.
Love your book selection! My choice is a Fisherman's Encyclopedia and it's a bit oversized - 9 1/2 x 11 1/2. But I think it will work.
Thanks for sharing your process. Your enthusiasm is infectious! 😊
Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I’m finding that I could do with a bigger page size so I can spread things out, so your page size will probably be perfect. Good luck with your project 🌸🌼🌸
Sally, lol be following along and watching what you do with this. Great ideas and great start!
Thanks so much Martha 🌸🌸🌸
Find all our vintage table runners, lol
Yes, dig them all out - they’re so useful and the fabric is lovely to work with 🌸🌼🌸
I’ve started mine I’m only doing 10 pages but could always add on if I need to . I know what I want to do . Do some drawings then paint and embroider them also use some stamps got loads from what I use in card making and making junk journals . My mind is buzzing with it all just hope my hands follow my mind lol 😜 xxx
Sounds exciting Pat, can’t wait to see what wonderful stitchery you create 🌸
@@DottyBeeVintage I’ve just finished doing a bird that’s one done umpteen more to do ….
@@patriciapage7197 I think we’re going to be experts on stitching birds and flowers by the end of this project! Haha 🌼🌸🌼
@@DottyBeeVintage if you want any stamped images just say so Sally why I’m stamping for myself I can do some for you x
Date stamp is a good idea, lovely stack of linens. I’m going to go through my stuff today. Thanks for showing us all. Sometimes this stuff is a bit daunting, but seeing what you put together helps……
Could you just attach your ‘scrappy piece of paper’ at the top, leaving 3 sides free so you can flip it up to look at your fabric underneath? I think that is what I would do :-)
Thanks so much - your idea is so good, I might try that for a later page….. 🌸🌼🌸
I would love to join in with this but, being new here, have no idea what's happening! Is it a group project/challenge?
Hi Jennii, if you look up Roxy Creations and Roxy Creations by Sarah on RUclips, you’ll find their videos explaining everything - it’s a 6 month project that’s just starting, so you’re joining in at the perfect moment - good luck and let me know how you get on 🌸
Thank you! I'm slow as I've had to swap from being right handed and become a lefty,so might get left behind. Just rebuilding skills after a stroke worsening MS symptoms. Going to have a go though!
@@jennil7797 oh that must be difficult, the beauty with slow stitch is, you can make it as easy or as complicated as you want - just going at your own pace and enjoying the process can be more rewarding than trying to keep up with others. All the very best - Sally 🌸
