i am a total beginner to music and instruments! Planning to get a Ukulele… I am confused between Kala KA-15S Soprono and Kala KA-P pineapple Soprono! I get both for around the same price here in India …People say that pineapple is just a concert sounding shape in Soprono size body! Can you help me decide?
Hi Pradeep...it's great that you're learning the ukulele...you'll have lots of fun....I haven't seen the instruments you mention but looking into them they are both sopranos and have the usual soprano scale length of 12 frets to the body....my advice would be to visit a music shop if possible and try the different sized ukulele's as your hand and finger size may find the soprano more tricky to play than say a tenor sized ukulele ( which are far more popular these days and the size I prefer to play ).... The Aklot Tenor ukulele is great, low cost, solid mahogany top and comes with lots of accessories....if you buy a ukulele from Amazon they usually let you send them back for free if you're not happy.....hope this helps...have fun..
TBH I think I would have to hear the two sets of strings side by side to give a valid opinion but the little Uke sounds great, really impressed with it. Cheers 👋
@@50mantravelling52 ...Hi Ian ..I put a link in the description to the uke when I received it with Fluorocarbon strings ..it was very nice sounding but a bit bright to me...I prefer these aquilas maybe as I've always played aquilas...thanks for watching and for your comment..it is much appreciated..👍😊🎵🎶💕
@@50mantravelling52 ...haha...it comes with Fluorocarbon strings and a High G so I had to buy the Aquila 5U's and restring it but I'm glad I did....the uke is far from perfect but good value at £49.99 on Amazon with a free return of you don't like it....I have small hands and fingers so playing a soprano is ok but I don't recommend them for folks with larger hands and fingers...better on the bigger Ukes...👍😊🎶🎵
Another cool thing to try; baritenor! String your tenor up with dGBE. You have low G, but on the 3rd string, and re-entrant tuning as well for Hawaiian and chord melody. Fun! I traded my tenor for a baritone due to left hand issues, but enjoyed it a lot. Try fluorocarbon strings for best performance.😎😁

Hi Graham, I really like the sound of that uke with a low G. It's a safe bet that you've got a soprano uke or two with high Gs so why not leave that one as it is now and pick up an instrument that suits the song best when you're doing your shows.
..thanks for watching and for your great comment....I think it definitely works on this mahogany uke...I don't own a spruce or cedar uke so thanks for the info....happy strumming ..👍🎵🎶😊💕
I like that Caramel! I have a Caramel tenor that I keep at my Grandkids house to play when I’m there and I think they make an excellent uke at that price-point. Not sure if I’m a fan of low G but tell me Graham do you prefer the wound or flat string? I do have a uke I’m thinking of converting so I would like to get your opinion. Thanks!

It is delightfully mellow...... if they don't already make, they need to make a baritone ukulele?..... the ukulele bases are brilliant I would have bought one but I can't justify it given all the plain old bass guitars.
