The "chains" bar is at least a double. One of the stereotypes of "rich" black men is showing off the chains around the neck. Even if one isn't actually rich the image remains and "keeping up with the Jones's" even if it's fake which keeps with the slavery bar as a slave to the image. At least a double there

I’ll be honest I don’t agree with every view that Adam has. But I support him all the way. That’s the thing you can agree to disagree and still respect each other. I respect him for speaking his mind. Telling us where he stands. He has the right to do that. And if I like it or not well that’s my personal problem. But music and production wise his work is phenomenal.

When I was in the Marines, we were on break watching MTV (when they actually played music) and a new rap song came out and this dude (black dude) was calling out all these chains he was wearing and he said some other shit and I made the comment 'Shit, man.. he's racist AGAINST black people'... I think it was something about giving everyone chains and having them follow him or something. I dunno... it felt way off and very racist, so that's why I spoke up. There was another Marine with us (black guy, pretty cool normally) but the comment I made had him get up in my face and ask me if I want to fight... I was like, 'what? No, I'm not going to fight you!' He even went so far to say 'Step outside!' which I did and then he asked me if I wanted to fight him again. I repeated, 'No, man... I'm not going to fight you.'
I didn't understand why he couldn't see how racist that song was. Anyways... Adam's bar and your response to it made me remember that, so I thought I'd share.

Do your best to break through to him and get him to open up again. We do it because being reminded about the people who care for us makes it harder to do things we know are likely to get us killed. He's just changing up genres he spoke on doing some country and he feels like for now rap and the hip-hop thing is something he doesn't want to Overkill or spoil with more of the same you just said some things that is on his mind and without them it's not about repeating himself it's about saying it once in a damn good fashion and loud enough so anyone that needs to hear it does and like you said a punch in the mouth type of delivery. I can only imagine how good is country music is going to be. I'm excited because as an artist myself I've come to hear myself putting a little taste of hip-hop and or wraps Styles per se in my lyrics in different genres of music and it's almost hard not to do and when you think you're not doing it and you think you're strictly on to what you want to be you listen to it again and you can hear it in there so even if he does country he still going to be Adam and we're still going to appreciate him for his rawness and his realness so just keep doing music man
