- We started a camper build on our 2024 Tacoma with a Dirtbox Overland canopy camper. Then, we built a bed system to organize our gear. We plan to build the truck out to live out of if needed. Follow along for more!
Awesome congratulations GOD Bless yALmO amen😊
Everything looks great. Only problem I see is how much all of this weighs plus 1 or 2 people and the limits of the truck.
Plus the weight or the new 35" tires and rims. Plus the lift components.
Looking forward to seeing the complete interior. Also interested in dust and water mitigation on the 2024 Tacoma tailgate and bed rails.
Cool!
The “bed system” at first I thought you were referring to the box as your sleeping bed. 🤷🏼
Great box design.
Thanks for sharing👍🏻
Might be cheaper to live in my Truck than my House 🤔🫣🤭
At these prices, cheaper to live in the house than the truck 😂
I’m building my own house right now, but I’ll be on the road a good bit…I’m going to build out a rig similar to this so that I won’t be spending a fortune on hotel rooms and fast food. It will pay for itself in less than 2 years, according to my calculations. Big fan of these setups!
I'm excited for R4T camper full build out. If I can make a suggestion for the bed floor board, have the hardware recessed into the board so it would have flush look and feel.
Any time frame when your plastic bed floor will be available. I’d be interested in one asap.
Nice looking setup! I think after years of using the RTT I would probably look at something like this for the next Tacoma.
I’m doing the exact same thing in my ram. Same camper too. I’ll share with you as well.
Nice looking truck, what are you doing about a spare tire? The stock location can only fit a 31” tire
The plastic bed floor board seems neat, when is that going to be available and what's the weight of it?
Will you all be doing the same setup but for the 3rd gen tacomas?
Any chance you could do a parts list and maybe you have a video of the cabinet build or can make and post the video of the second cabinet build? I have the Dirtbox on my Gladiator and I am trying to design the bed buildout now.
Looks great. I hope you make it modular so you can get just a left or right side and pick what setup you want on either side. Also I'm assuming by the way it's made, that besides the base plate, it'll work with any midsize truck with a camper?
Does the fabric on the tent portion have a clear see through panel or just fabric and mesh? it would be nice in incliment weather to be able to see out without having to open up fabric panel and have cold weather blowing in. Also is there any side panel/rear panel awnings on the tent to block inclement weather? Will the water system have a spout not requiring a electricity/water pump or will it require a water pump to get water? Will this have vent/ports for a diesel/gas/propane heater?
How do you open the camper from the inside? It seems like with the lip Toyota built into the back of the tailgate you wouldn't be able to open the back door on the camper w/o first dropping the tailgate. That's fine from the outside, not possible from the inside. Are you or Dirtbox Overland planning to offer a replacement cap for the tailgate that eliminates the lip?
There is the same issue with the Gladiator, which I have along with a Dirtbox. I removed the panel on the tailgate to access the latching rod and can release the tailgate from the inside now. That was the only solution I could come up with that did not involve removing the plastic tailgate cap.
Struts on the sleep area, lead lights on the gull wing, and L track under the sleeping platform standard for bynd camper?
Those features are standard on the Dirtbox
wheels ? what are those ?....pls thx
Sliders don’t stick out from the body at all. Obviously the nytop boys don’t wheel. Disappointing.
