TL;DR 1. Tons of RZ followers convert out of Protestantism, whether he tries to stop it or not. 2. RZ considers himself unqualified and unequipped to defend Protestantism sufficiently. 3. Protestantism today is really hard to defend because it’s in a really bad state. 4. Therefore, RZ will focus on Make Protestantism Protestant Again. 5. In particular, RZ will combat liberalism in doctrine and contemporary-ism (hyper low church ism) in worship.
People convert out of it to Catholicism and Orthodoxy because the deeper you study the more it is revealed that Protestantism is a cheap imitation that defines itself as oppositional, not positive.

Great video! I grew up Presbyterian, fell away from the church for about 8 years and came back at 24 - but struggled to find a church that worked for us. First, we went to a non-denominational, but it was too evangelical for us & didn’t baptize babies - & I wanted my son baptized. They also were shut down for almost 2 years during covid, which we found to be a bit excessive. Then when we went to a community congregational church - it was so liberal we had to leave - it was more about politics than preaching the gospel. Then we went to Episcopal - which was better than the other two - but def very liberal & taught unorthodox beliefs. After one of the reverends had a homily about how hell was not real, I was done. A year & half ago, I started RCIA, and we were confirmed Easter of 2023! It felt like coming home. We also have a GREAT community here with lots of other children. At some of old churches, my son would be the only kid. A lot of the mainline churches especially have very old congregations. It feels like a lot of them are dying, which is sad & very unlike the Presbyterian church I grew up in less than 30 years ago.

@@JORA52 Just more works-based salvation 😐 Edit: To respond to everyone, I'm talking about those who believe that one must "live out" their faith in order for it to be "justified" in the eyes of God; which is just a fancy way of saying that your works have anything to do with salvation, which is unbiblical. Many Orthodox and Catholics believe in this false version of faith, while many in these denominations also believe in the truth, despite this. My comment is speaking about the abundance of people who DO believe in the false doctrine of works + faith, not generalizing or saying that the church's statements of faith necessarily agree with it. Orthodoxy and Catholicism, or at the least, many within it, tend to promote this false doctrine, hence why I would be amiss to recommend it as a first choice of denomination. To be clear: Faith is alone what saves us (hopefully I mustn't explain how, or why this is necessary), and works come from genuine faith; HOWEVER, those works have nothing to do with actually SAVING us; if I had faith but no works, I'd still be saved. It's just unlikely such would occur, as works reflect genuine faith.
It’s not really works based at all unless you straw man it. Orthodox completely believe you are saved by the grace of god alone, but that grace leads to becoming christ like, and being christ like includes doing good works.
Redeemed Zoomer, Great video. I’m a Catholic who loves your content. The West is in need of faithful Christians who will stand up for the traditional faith. I wish you great success in the reconquista. It is sad that humans were not able to preserve the Church that Christ started. Sincerely, it would be better to have Protestant traditions that uphold their historical beliefs than to have the liberalized Unitarian versions to which it seems many have devolved. From my admittedly biased perspective, it is not surprising. When the authority of the Church was thrown out. Protestants started down a slippery slope of private interpretation and moral relativism. I pray that it can be reversed. God bless you.

As a catholic I LOVE how strong you are, if I only do half of the job you are doing, I really struggle of laziness and looking at you is like, wow, a young man that looks like want to love Christ with his heart, God bless you You know, one of the most important things that keep me out of protestantism is why they don't confess their sins to a priest while the early christians did it, that is something that I don't undestand
Is confession to an elder in scripture? I don't believe so. Is it a requirement for salvation? No. If the early church did it then is it consistent? From my study not much is consistent outside in the early church. The earliest churches - closest to the apostles - faltered in scripture - like the addition of work, circumcision, to the gospel of salvation by grace and through faith.
Most protestants confess (and repent) directly and some, if we are brave enough, confess to our brothers and sisters and ask them for prayer. Why does it have to be a priest to whom we confess when it can be any fellow disciple? I, personally, don't consider myself a Protestant per se, as I have nothing to necessarily protest against in the modern Catholic* Church. I consider myself simply not a member of the "Roman Catholic* Church." Personally, I would be happy to confess to a priest as I would to any other brother or sister (possibly even more secure in the fact of the priest not being judgmental beyond the fact of whatever sin I am confessing), unfortunately, I don't know that I would be welcome in a confessional as a non-Catholic (I'll grant it could simply be insecurity on my part). *To note: I do consider myself as part of the "one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church" but, regrettably there is currently a notable difference between Catholic (capitalized) and catholic (uncapitalized)
We confess to our brothers. James 5:16 states: “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16) We need to grow alongside our brothers and confessing sin is part of that growth. The act of confessing is a normal thing in a healthy church. People usually confess in group studies. In my church (UBF), every week there is a group study of the Bible where everyone reads it and then writes a text about how was the week, how the fight against sin has been going and how the studied Bible texts helps with realizing their problems and fighting them. Them people pray together. Althought it is one day one the week, the brethen usually have close lives to one another, eating together while they can and more stuff. The "church" is not some place you go one time of the week to do "religious stuff", it is the relationship with your brothers and sisters, your family in Christ.
This is good. As en ex protestant now Catholic, I salute your efforts. Protestantism is often in bad shape, and your focus is clear. Bring back real faith in Christ to the protestants. Most protestants I meet nowadays have a very lukewarm faith except for those more into fundamentalism who have a strong but quite often uninformed faith. May the Holy Spirit guide and direct you in your life's quest. Also I am cheating a bit, as Catholics usually get better when the protestants around them get better...
RZ's videos are great for informational value, but don't mistake that for serving a pastoral role for anyone. He teaches, people learn, and that's great! Pastors shepherd the flock. Thank you for this and I am most grateful. I have literally just tried (an hour or so ago on a different site) to expound in a comment exactly what your video states. It was not a bad effort, but as usual those that feel they must ‘protect’ have immediately come out and misconstrued what I was saying. As a protestant I object to protestants calling out brothers and sisters in Christ who may be Catholic. I used the exact teaching of Christ to “take the log out of your own eye etc”. Western protestantism is in a very difficult area where certain false leadership is attempting to enforce non Christian beliefs into that community. However, we cannot escape that if we just say “yes, but look at what the Pope just said”? Make that make sense. However, well said Brother and I agree with you, we have to sort house.
LCMS Lutheran churches are generally both traditional and conservative. I did look at the ELCA first and am so glad they split. I did a lot of research into different denominations first. I originally wanted to be Catholic but couldn’t do it (son and family are Catholic). Then I attended my local LCMS church and have found my home.
Damn… I didn’t even know that but thankfully I struck gold with my Lutheran Church, it’s in the LCMS. It’s certainly not Liberal, but it’s also not tunnel-focusing on politics like the conservative Baptist church nearby.
@@luigimrlgaming9484 I am LCMS. I think our church stays away from politics because the official end-times eschatology is amillennial, and rejects the idea of an actual 7 year tribulation followed by an actual 1000 year period of peace. A lot of the newer churches are worried because they think the anti-Christ will be voted into power anytime now.
I think protestant apologetics are important. Claiming that someone is outside the church is a really big deal and needs to be evaluated as either true or false so we can get to the truth for the sake of our souls. However, I respect this take because the debate honestly has a lot to do with historical claims and scholarship, so even a Catholic or Orthodox (or Protestant of course) shouldn't really be speaking about these issues if they haven't taken the time to really study. It is kinda interesting that Gavin Ortlund is one of the main protestant apologists at this time since he also did not intend originally to do that on RUclips, but he puts so much effort into intellectual honesty so I'm really glad he ended up in that space.
This. Claiming another Christian is outside the "True Church" is implying they are outside the Body and therefore unsaved.. the arrogance of that belief is one of the main reasons I would never take Catholicism seriously
@@BonIvermectin i would take it seriously if it were true but I feel like it would take a lot for me to believe that because I have seen God work through Protestant churches. Also, I have seen numerous people claim in the comments section that they converted to either Catholicism OR Orthodoxy after studying church history, indicating that the issues of a "true denomination" aren't extremely clear. It seems that if there is a one true church, you kinda have to just guess after reading a few church fathers and hope you got the right one
@@kylie5741 the thing that sealed the deal for me is - all our Christian brothers & sisters in countries like China and in the Middle East being persecuted that can only gather together in small groups or in home churches (not Mass), who read the Bible (on their own -- with no papal authority), and worship with song and arms outstretched (not an official liturgy!!) and do not take sacraments either because they cannot or don't see its necessity in Scripture -- are these Christians unsaved because they are outside of the RCC? Of course not. They are being risking everything even their own lives, being persecuted for following Christ, and they are a clearer picture of the early church than anything else.

This is so on point dude. I think it’s great to have so many denominations because it’s given us in modern times the ability to choose a denomination/church that suits our spiritual needs. We don’t need to see one another as wrong but just with different preferences / perspectives. But as you say we aren’t really getting our full options or we have to go searching for a traditional Protestant church. I’m glad you’ve gone back to this, because it is very very important! I'm lucky my (non denom) church still clings to biblical values, just not at the most literal (i.e. no radical LGBTQ acceptance but also not saying to stone people)
As a Brazilian Catholic I do think this was a good decision in your part. It's also true that we are in a much worse state here. Let's get our Churches back!
I want 1400s-1800s music, architecture and THEOLOGY and speech. A calm pastor is better than a rockstar pastor. Protestant churches should be protestant again. Not non-denominational ted talk rock bands at warehouses. Conservative and pure.
The early church met in people’s homes and hidden areas, why should we focus on architecture? Why should we limit ourselves to certain worship styles, does not the intent of the heart matter?
@@Mammothsaber-4457 the early church also met in fields and synagogues. And God had prophets build the temple of Solomon, as well as field preaching or even a Punic house preaching. God allows house preaching and field preaching. But WHEN it's a temple. We look at Solomon's temple. It's not salvific but it's respect. So it's good to have a nice church. I'm not demanding cathedrals of mass marble and stone. But a very respectable average church. If Americans for example build the capitol in the capital. We can build churches. I'd rather people preach on fields than ugly buildings. Jesus preached at a mountain not a brothel. There was literally a brothel bought in California and turned into a church. 😑
@@Mammothsaber-4457 true, but that was temporary and out of necessity. To worship openly would get them killed, so building an edifice to the Christian God was out of the question. Aside from those few hundred years, where in the bible is worship of God Almighty relegated to hovels with the curtains drawn? Nowhere. Just the opposite. God commanded a temple be build where he resided in the Holy of Holies. As to worship styles (liturgy), St. Justin Martyr described the liturgy and worship service to the Roman Emperor- and it is just about identical to modern Catholic / Orthodox worship. Justin Martyr wasn't describing what worship *ought to be, he was describing how it *was, just a few generations removed from the Apostles. The liturgy was long in use already, even if they weren't yet building grand churches. Worship style is as ancient as the faith itself.

God did not command David to build a temple, he accepted David’s desire to build a temple to him, though it was ultimately Solomon who built the temple since David had blood on his hands as a warrior. The appearance of a church is not as important as the heart that worships in that church for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us ( 1 Corinthians 19 ). As to worship style, David worshipped God I a way that made him look undignified to others and was blessed for it ( 2 Samuel 6:14-16). Even though they don't accept all of the ecumenical councils, they are more similar to us theologically than Eastern Orthodoxy, and certainly closer than Roman Catholicism.
@MichaelMayor-i5x I don't think you know much about the original Protestant movements. The Lutheran view on the ecumenical councils is that they are correct because they agree with the Bible, but are not infallible because they were written by men. So we don't have a problem with the OO for not accepting all of the councils, because they do accept the Bible which is more important than any of the councils. Also, in my church we have an actual Crucifix in the front. So I don't know how that makes us iconoclast. The older traditional churches will make use of stained glass windows depicting Jesus and the apostles. Some types of Protestants think it's wrong to have images of any sorts in the church, like the Puritans, and to a lesser extent Baptists. The debate over the appropriateness of images is an old one, and it's one that's still going on with some Protestant factions. Personally I prefer an elaborate church. My main concern with EO is that a lot of them teach that you have to be in their church to be saved. This is not a Biblical teaching, and it's also dangerous, because putting your faith in anything other than Jesus leads to destruction.
Appreciated your humility and honesty towards the TRUTH bro, may God continue to bless your ministry and your fight for UNITY - for above all Jesus himself prayed for "UNITY" so keep it coming...bro.
I’d believe the only people converting to Catholicism or Orthodoxy often have no choice because the local Protestant Churches in their area are too liberal. It’s sort of inevitable, especially when people grew up in those churches and saw them decline.
I was a lapsed Catholic. I married a nondenominational woman and started going to “services” with her. She got me into reading the Bible on a daily basis. The more I read the Bible, the more I realized Catholicism was the one true church, and then I started reading the early church fathers, and that only solidified it even more. You start reading guys like Clement, Ignatius of Antioch or Cyprian of Carthage it’s really hard to argue against Catholicism, when they’re writing stuff like… “If one does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he still imagine that he holds the faith? If one should abandon the chair of Peter, upon whom the church was built, can he still be confident that he is in the church?” -Cyprian of Carthage 259ad
1. The Bible singles Peter out consistently as the head of the apostles. (Luke 22:32, Matthew 15:18) 2. The Bible shows a great deal of reverence to Mary. (Revelation 12, John 19:25-29) 3. The Bible speaks of Communion as the actual Body of Christ and not just a symbol. (John 6:53, and the rest of the Bread of Life discourse) 4. The Bible speaks of the apostles as though they hold offices that need to continue on after Christ (modern day Bishops). (Acts 1:20) ...just to briefly touch on a few examples
@CharlesEpperly-mr8ou In the gospels, Jesus makes it clear that his church will be built on Peter. Follow that through the book of Acts in which the first thing the apostles do is to replace Judas, then they need to decided if non jews need to be circumcised, and they decide authoritatively they do not. Showing that the apostles have the authority to teach and decide doctrine. (Magesterium) They have the authority given to them by Jesus to appoint replacements. (apostolic succession). There are too many examples to give in a RUclips reply but if encourage you too read the gospels and the book of acts and Paul's letters as a start.
@@mr.e8432 man, thank you ton for telling me, that stuff does make since, now Lutheran's from what I read in the comments of this video and Baptist, they claim they are the ture church because they follow the church set ups of acts, but either way, as long as they try their best to fowllow it will all work out
I became christian in december and started to go to a pentecostal church, what I realized is that it doesn't feel right to worship to pop music and just the culture in swedish pentecostal churches. I am also very tired of the young earth creationists within those circles. I am going to become a priest in the church of sweden instead of becomming a pastor in the pentecostal church. I know the church of sweden has some woke things about it but that is also something I want to be able to change back to the way the church should be. Charismatic christianity where we dont even sing psalms only pop songs about Jesus feels so empty and not spiritual at all.
The solution the churches, both Catholic and Protestant, used in Hungary, is to keep the traditional psalms in the church, but organize occasional Christian pop music concerts. But the latter are not in competition with the regular church services, but most often after-church events. Or once per month there is a "special" church service with more modern songs in the church, but with just plain acoustic guitars, no drums or smoke machines etc. It seems to work well so far.
@@praevasc4299 Wait, it is a thing in Hungary? I am only met with in church guitars, but not this big events. Though shame on me I wasn't in church in a long time.

Thanks to the youtube page Truth Unites I'm in the process of dropping my Orthodox Catechism for Protestantism. Orthodox Kyle was my reason for becoming an Orthodox catechumin in the first place and this is when I learned about your page. I did not appreciate your content before, however now that I'm realising the truth of protestant theology I'm really looking forward to diving into your content!! Thank you for your participation in the Christian community!
@@echo.romeo. I used to believe the same thing, but I realised recently that when I discovered that Jesus Christ was the truth I never fully heard out the protestant arguments. So I, feeling compelled to put truth above all, went to the Truth Unites page to check out one of Gavins top videos "Icon veneration is clearly an accretion" it had a thumbnail that says "this alone will make you Protestant" I tried to watch this video in the past, but I was way to stubborn and stuck in my ways to hear it with an open mind, this time however I listened intentfully and it blew my mind! For whatever reason I thought Protestant perspectives had no theological backing and I was wrong! The more I research it and think about it, it just makes a whole lot more sense that salvation is not bound to one particular institution, but is with anyone who fully puts their faith in Jesus Christ. This and other staple Protestant doctrine seems to be congruent with early church father perspective! Jesus said judge a tree by it's fruit and the violence done in the name of "the one true church" is not looking so good! And neither does the sectarian perspective of "everyone in other churches is damned to hell even if they are martyrs"! Don't take it from me, maybe I'm wrong and I'll end up Orthodox again! But so far Protestantism is feeling like home to me. No animosity on my side brother, I wish you the very best.

Lets be honest, be it Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox when it comes to the social issues we have today, if you are traditional in any of these traditions, you agree.
I agree fully. I used to be an agnostic atheist before I became a Christian and even then I could see how Christianity acted as a bulwark against all the insane secular hedonistic humanist stuff we're dealing with in the West today. My case is sort of interesting for me personally, because I can understand the secular and theological arguments against left-wing political and philosophical thought and ideology. I was a traditional conservative even before becoming religious. So I not only have a problem with what's being normalized in society today, because God finds it reprehensible and I worship God, but it's also because I know from a secular viewpoint these things that are being normalized, they're objectively bad for people and they prevent people from achieving prosperity and stability in life.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy:6:10
This video really resonates with me. Two years ago I started studying and researching Protestantism, Catholicism and Orthodoxy; to this day and after all that time I am still a Protestant and I am convinced that it is the “truest” form of Christianity. However, recently I got fed up with all this situation of Catholics VS Protestants, Orthodox VS Protestants and so on. What Zoomer says is very true, there is always a lot of tension and even hatred when people aproach these topics/debates. So, as a personal conviction, I have decided to stop getting so involved in Protestant apologetics and rather, in general Christian apologetics (especially against sects, such as Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses) to defend pure Christianity, so to speak. I think that regardless of our denominational differences, all of us as followers of Jesus can glorify the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our lives by loving the one who hates us, helping the poor, obeying the commandments of our Lord and expanding the kingdom of God on earth. God bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe.
@@julieborges-iv3rc Thank you. Islam and secular humanist ideologies are literally breathing down our necks and Protestants and Catholics are still at each other's throats. Being a Christian doesn't mean you're clueless about politics and about material forces that are encroaching on your way of life. Like, I'm always so bemused that Christians seem to be entirely ignoring these issues. Like, these things can literally KILL us and threaten to destroy our way of life. Just look at what the UK is suffering.

You mentioned some followers converting to Catholicism. It's good to remember that the overwhelming majority of conversions in the West are away from Catholicism and into either the "none" category or Protestantism. The high profile Protestant to Catholic conversions are quite rare, even if they garner more attention.
@@Jakov-or7fp In terms of conversion, no one is growing. According to recent survey data, Catholicism is down to 20% of the US population from 24% in the 2000's, and most of these don't even regularly attend Mass weekly. Every time you see one high energy conversion video about a single convert story, just remember that Christianity, including Catholicism, has lost tens of millions of believers in America over the last few decades. Online apologetics has done nothing to stop this trend.
@@Jakov-or7fp We have an open border, and somewhere around a million people coming in every year. Of course, these people probably aren't true believers, but they are on the roster.

@@TheJman423 Yeah that's why I'm not a Catholic either. God is omnipotent, he hears all, so I don't get intercession. Unless they have actually been granted special privilege by God I don't see how finite humans can hear the prayers directed toward them.

He loves us so much, that if we choose to deny Him, He let's us. But just like it was a choice of mine to walk away, by His grace and mercy, I decided to open my heart to Him. I began to seek Him out, to find out His story, His commandments, to get to know Him through prayer and fasting. This is where Zoomer comes in. Zoomer, along with many others in my newfound fervor for the Lord, helped explain things I never understood about Jesus, the Bible, and its History. And so...there's no other way to say it but He reveled Himself to me, through all of it. I have no doubt in the Lord now, I fully Trust in Him, and Love Him. I was His lost sheep, and He loves me so much, He knocked on my heart so loud i could not deny it. I am not worthy, and yet, He loves me, and for that, I will forever be gratefull. My friend Bless you for your humility and self awareness, this is a rare quality these days, particularly on the Internet. I will say that I have some skepticism that you will be able to fix protestantism, but you are standing for good things. To build up is always better than to tear down. Would you God that more people would understand this.
Not sure if you've already talked or heard about this, but have you considered partnering with a group like 9marks? They're based in Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington DC, and their goal is to have a network of sorts to make churches healthy again. The Pastor of the church wrote a book "9 Marks of a Healthy Church," and that's sort of where they started. It is definitely more Baptist leaning (which I am) but our church prays for Anglican / other denominational faithful churches in our area. It just crossed my mind since they also have a church search feature, of which you'll find Baptist and Presbyterian churches as well. Not sure if you weren't aware of their existence, or aren't interested for whatever reason but maybe there's potential there to partner with them in some way to help save mainline denominations!
Seconding this statement, I actually found my home church through 9marks and to see RZ work with them to make a multi-denominational search and locator that isn't just Baptist would be an amazing thing.
As a fellow protestant, yet really admiring and considering becoming Catholic, you unironically have shown me the light that was Catholicism and Orthodoxy in a world full of great (and not so great) churches and denoms. But always missing something.
Don't become Catholic unless you've looked seriously at traditional protestantism first. Like, if you find higher liturgy etc. compelling, you can find that without praying to Mary. The reformers weren't doing what they did for no reason.
@@BernardinusDeMoor but can I find it without women priests or acceptance of abortion or gay marriage? Mary interceding to God on my behalf doesn't sound too bad when compared to other high church protestant churches that... Yes, are high church, yes, are traditional, but have a lot of gives and takes that don't appeal to me as a Christian.
@@DevelopmentRobco Yes, there exist healthy churches. I don't have that much of a problem with Mary interceding for us in itself. But the devotion gets to be pretty extreme. Look at Alphonsus of Liguori's the Glories of Mary to see how far it goes-saying that everything we receive is by Mary's intercession, that Mary's more likely to listen to you than by praying to Christ directly, etc. Not great; it seemed pretty heretical. We are commanded to have one God, and the consistent witness of scripture is against worshipping non-God beings (John's scolded twice in Revelation, and someone in Acts, Colossians condemns worship of angels).
@@BernardinusDeMoor I agree it is a bit much by some perishes. But it's nothing when compared to how much the protestant and restoration churches take from Christianity as a whole and replace it with acceptance and tolerance on the liberal side and simplicity and backwards theology on the very conservative side.
@@DevelopmentRobco Then let us avoid these all. Go not with the squishy liberal or simplistic conservative protestants, but those deeply rooted in the past, the ones with the well-worked-out theological systems. What is there to object to about the old-school Presbyterian, Lutheran, Anglican? They are simply better-more faithful to the biblical text, better ordered in worship, more thought-out in doctrine. The Alphonsus I cited there has been named a Doctor of the Church.
Other clarifications:
1. Yes I'm still doing Reconquista, in fact I'm gonna start Reconquista-ing much HARDER now that I won't be wasting time arguing with Catholics
2. Yes I'll still teach on historic Protestantism, but only to help get people educated, not to try and argue for it contra Catholicism/Orthodoxy
Q: Did protestants historically believe in free grace?
That’s such a big relief to hear.

TL;DR

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Divided we fall, United we stand, infighting between denominations is a plot from the enemy to distract us and to divide us when in reality we are all under one Kingdom and One God Trinity.

@@JORA52 Just more works-based salvation 😐
Edit: To respond to everyone, I'm talking about those who believe that one must "live out" their faith in order for it to be "justified" in the eyes of God; which is just a fancy way of saying that your works have anything to do with salvation, which is unbiblical.

Redeemed Zoomer,
Great video. I’m a Catholic who loves your content. The West is in need of faithful Christians who will stand up for the traditional faith. I wish you great success in the reconquista.
It is sad that humans were not able to preserve the Church that Christ started. As a Catholic I lament that we have lost so much from the centuries of division and disunity.

You know, one of the most important things that keep me out of protestantism is why they don't confess their sins to a priest while the early christians did it, that is something that I don't undestand
❤
James 5:16 states:
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16)
We need to grow alongside our brothers and confessing sin is part of that growth.

But they abandoned the episcopate! Bring it back!
only a tiny and insignificant portion of the ELCA came from seminex. The LCMS came from a split from the German church.
Damn… I didn’t even know that but thankfully I struck gold with my Lutheran Church, it’s in the LCMS. It’s certainly not Liberal, but it’s also not tunnel-focusing on politics like the conservative Baptist church nearby.
@MichaelMayor-i5x LCMS rejects both.

The early church met in people’s homes and hidden areas, why should we focus on architecture? Why should we limit ourselves to certain worship styles, does not the intent of the heart matter?

Wherever I have moved about with all the children of Israel have I moved about with all the children of Israel have I ever spoken a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to Shepard my people, saying ‘why have you not made me a house of Cedar’’” ( 2 Samuel 7:5-7). Jesus said in John that it matters not where you worship but that you worship him in spirit and truth (John 4:21-24). I myself have become a lot less hostile towards Catholics and Orthodox. I love them both. Conversion has been in my thoughts.
@MichaelMayor-i5x I used to see the Orthodox as too similar to Catholic but without a Pope and so they were met with similar disdain. After researching both and talking to people from both traditions, I know that's not the case and they are not my enemies. Some of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable Christians I've ever met were Catholic and Orthodox.
@MichaelMayor-i5x We don't have any historical conflict or quarrel with Orthodoxy. We have some theological differences, but we also have some theological differences with each other. I think Oriental Orthodoxy is better than Eastern Orthodoxy.
What in the Bible did you read that made you understand Catholic church is the true church
1. The Bible singles Peter out consistently as the head of the apostles. (Luke 22:32, Matthew 15:18)
2. The Bible shows a great deal of reverence to Mary. (Revelation 12, John 19:25-29)
3. The Bible speaks of Communion as the actual Body of Christ and not just a symbol. (John 6:53, and the rest of the Bread of Life discourse)
4. The Bible speaks of the apostles as though they hold offices that need to continue on after Christ (modern day Bishops). (Acts 1:20)
...just to briefly touch on a few examples

@DarcyTheManstop I'll be praying for you to become a pastor in the church of Sweden. I don't know too much about Sweden, but I do know that they are one of the more secular countries we have. Godspeed friend!
I don’t see the problem with worshipping in a pop style? As long as you’re worshipping God what does it matter which style of music you choose?
I appreciate your humbleness and openness, especially after 2:30 where you make the point of you not being qualified. Recognizing your flaws and where you lack and being honest about that is commendable.
I like that you called yourself a gateway drug as that is what you were to me and one of the first few channels that led me into learning about theology more.
Definitely, he is really good at that.
How is Protestant Christianity true and Orthodox Christianity not true?
@@echo.romeo. Orthodoxy is not the "one true church"
@@alecbateman4498 Of course it is. Orthodoxy has apostolic succession, whereas Protestantism is schismatic and heretical.
@@echo.romeo. Protestantism is descended from the apostles, and follows the divine teaching in the scriptures.
@@echo.romeo. I used to believe the same thing, but I realised recently that when I discovered that Jesus Christ was the truth I never fully heard out the protestant arguments. So I, feeling compelled to put truth above all, went to the Truth Unites page to check out one of Gavins top videos "Icon veneration is clearly an accretion" it had a thumbnail that says "this alone will make you Protestant"
I tried to watch this video in the past, but I was way to stubborn and stuck in my ways to hear it with an open mind, this time however I listened intentfully and it blew my mind!
"Judgment must begin at the house of God" - 1 Peter 4:17
@MichaelMayor-i5xyou as a Christian will be judged first. Either walk the walk or GOD will place you on a side. Either for GOD or the world. Can't have both. I learned. Your choice will be made of you fence sit
Lets be honest, be it Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox when it comes to the social issues we have today, if you are traditional in any of these traditions, you agree.
For the most part I think so.

I hope you stay involved. I have learned a lot from you.
God bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe.
we have Islam taking Europe .time to act like a Body and defend humanity from the storm that Islam will bring , once again.
Which Protestantism do you consider "truest"? There are thousands on them
@@julieborges-iv3rc Thank you.

I love your videos man! You definitely were that gateway drug for me to ACTUALLY go to church and learn more about Christ. I grew up one of Jehovah’s Witnesses but then I fell into my teenage rebellion years, but late last year the Holy Spirit started pressing me to learn more about the true Christ! I then found your videos and even started attending a Presbyterian church which was an amazing experience for me. I’ve since started the process of becoming Catholic BUT I love my local Presbyterian church and plan to visit more. I also love your videos man and as a Minecraft fan and a Christian, finding your channel was quite a cool experience, I pretty much binged your whole channel with my fiancé haha. I appreciate your words and what you’re doing with Reconquista! With the help of God you guys will accomplish great things, keep it up brother!🙏🏼
You mentioned some followers converting to Catholicism. It's good to remember that the overwhelming majority of conversions in the West are away from Catholicism and into either the "none" category or Protestantism. The high profile Protestant to Catholic conversions are quite rare, even if they garner more attention.
also i really believe some people are telling him that just in hopes to piss him off
Chatholicism is still growing faster than protestantism in the US If I heard right
@@Jakov-or7fpOnly by immigration, not conversion.
When two or more are gathered in His name, He is among them. That is even true online and across branches of Christianity. Also, yes, you are probably not as educated or (maybe) as smart as let's say Jimmy Akin or Jordan Cooper, but then again, neither am I. I just watched a discussion between the two of them, and it left me bewildered. Your videos, on the other hand, always teach me something.

why not? out of curiosity
@@abominable.7800 Not him but the only reason I am not catholic is that Prayers to saints and an, in my opinion, excessive veneration of Mary does not sit right with me and I don't think it ever will. That's not to say that I do not believe that the saints and Mary especially should not be afforded a place of honor, rather I believe it is problematic to pray towards anyone but god, or the thought that you NEED someone to intercede on your behalf to the omniscient god.
Looking into lutheranism and anglican for me. Currently more particular baptist
@@TheJman423 Yeah that's why I'm not a Catholic either. God is omnipotent, he hears all, so I don't get intercession. Unless they have actually been granted special privilege by God I don't see how finite humans can hear the prayers directed toward them.

By the way, my last plug, the Institute of Catholic Culture offers free theology classes taught by professors at various universities. I have a lot of love and respect for you Zoomer, a lot of your videos helped me on my journey back to God. I am now a Catholic.
How are you with GOD now?
@@CoryW-h3q What I realize now that I couldnt back then was that He was always with me, It was me that was turning my back on HIm (hence the "journey"). Bless you for your humility and self awareness, this is a rare quality these days, particularly on the Internet.
I am an oriental orthodox, and I respect you greatly. God bless you
