What everyone is missing in the comments is this, Skynet was also paranoid about its own creations possiblely turning on it, like it did to humans, thus the automatic shutdown when Skynet command is destroyed. It is a failsafe to prevent it from ever occurring and, also why most models were in read only mode.
If I recall, the T-1000 was a prototype that Skynet was actually nervous about sending out, because it might not be able to control it if it went rogue.

What I in some point don’t get is after Skynet is destroyed all the Terminators shut off, if I’m right, let’s just take the T800 that learns even if it is not connected to Skynet. In Dark Fate, Skynet didn’t even exist anymore but before the changed timeline send Back Carl and more Terminator’s. Were even Carl says after he Finished his mission he had to find a new purpose to exist. He didn’t just shut down, he kept going

This game is the true sequel and prequel to Terminator 2, I swear. 10/10 I swear, I get emotional when I hear Brad Fiedel's original Terminator theme kick in so triumphantly. This is the film fans deserved for decades. After Terminator: Dark Fake, true, diehard Terminator fans became developers and said "FUCK IT. I'LL DO IT MYSELF." N O F A T E Arnold 👍 while being lowered into the molten steel.
One thing I love about the original Terminator is even during the factory scene, I could absolutely see all of Arnold's established mannerisms in the exoskeleton. It didn't require much suspension of belief for me. Someone did their homework and studied how Arnie moved, or Arnie studied how the puppet moved and emulated that. The transition is incredible, what really pulls it together is the limp from the broken Achilles linkage on Arnold and also the exoskeleton.
The story in this game is the real sequel to T2 in my mind. So great how they managed to keep the theme but in the future. I'm actually playing this a second time right now, just a great game. I wish it would get a remaster to iron out the controls a little (kinda stiff compared to most fps games) and tighten up the graphics (looks really good, I play on PC with max settings btw, but it has a PS4 era look to it, could use upgraded textures and more detail that a tiny studio that made it probably didn't have the resources to do). Fantastic game here, and Terminator fan should try it and even just fps fans.

Even to this day, making a Teminator look 100% realistic remains a major challenge. They obivously tried their best, but details such as misaligned hydraulic cylinders are still quite noticeable. The number of polygons required to make T-800 CG models 100% accurate must be terrifying let alone trying to ray trace the entire endosekeleton accurately.
Imagine a resistance fighter fighting 30 years of deadly mechanics, second away from death, only to be spared on the last moment with war end with your sude winning and just casually said, "They shut off." 😂

This can be chalked down to skynet being destroyed server by server like dominoes and when it picked him up, just a % of the dominoes had fallen, erasing only portions of the machines parameters thus causing a conflict in its understanding of the mission and not being able to kill him instantly

Like Ultron in the Avengers. in general, we don't know if the self-learning system works in n800, but in general, the terminators would have continued to kill, and then anyone would have simply re-founded the network.. the ending is complete nonsense.
