Great video buddy helped out alot for when i come to do it. Im not sure if you have these looks like you have. But do you remove the headlight washer covers and whats the best way to remove them. Seem very fragile.
Hi buddy glad it helped, they are very fragile, try to disconnect them from behind as you start to remove your bumper, there is no easy way todo it that I have found
Found it just as easy on both my STs to drop the intercooler from underneath and replace. Much quicker than removing the front bumper and headlamps etc
I got the Airtec Intercooler with the Zunsport Grille in a package deal for £370. An upgraded intercooler is a must on these motors, they really run hot in the summer months. Respect for doing it yourself, I just paid the garage to do it for £50, couldnt be bothered myself.

Thank you buddy yeah those bolts were for sure the most difficult to do, I have not tried the car yet as I've got a zunsport grill to go on and a front splitter plus I have loads of the engine bay missing as I'm currently Hydro dipping them
Great channel buddy 👍. I've had mine a year standard. Just had the RS clutch fitted, R Sport intercooler and remapped. Exhaust down pipe and sports cat are being fitted today. Looking forward to getting it back and experiencing the difference.
@@ecp4538 it's by Quantum tuning. Stage 1 remap. I pick it up this evening. I haven't driven it yet lol. I'll get it on the dyno this wkd and see what I've got.

Hey Buddy thank you for the comment, pearl white very nice these 2 colours are the hardest to get hold off, will have some more video's coming soon just been of my feet since December after a operation but I'm nearly back in the saddle, hopefully when the first ECP car meet happens you will make the journey buddy
Great video. Do you know if I would need to do all this to replace the just intercooler hose on a 1.6 tdci? Or could I get away with just removing the left facing headlight?
@@styusuf5671 Yep Stage 1, this particular intercooler is rated up to 325+HP which is about where I want to be when I MAP my ST so I didn't see any point buying a stage 2, if you going close to 400HP then you have to seriously look at forging your engine which is very expensive, 300-340HP is the sweet spot in my opinion

I've been looking at a focus st mate and it's got like silicon pipes up the left hand side which I can only think of being from intercooler but one of the pipes has a rubber sort of bung in the end, why would that be ?

Hey Lee thank you buddy, yeah I had noticed there isn't really any vids for fitting a intercooler, I could of expanded more on some of the sections but my mate dropped by while I was fitting the intercooler and was distracting me to much lol
ECP haha now the feeling when people turn up while I’m doing stuff to the car I tend to stop and keep a eye on then as they tend to mess about and touch things but at least you’ve shown where the bolts are clips ect which is more then others I’ve seen a long time ago, could have done with your vid last year tho but figured it out my self lol
@@leebarton845 lol yeah they start asking questions then pick things up and start asking whats this, where does this go lol, sorry buddy im sure there something you need doing that I can make a vid for, yeah I believe its important to point out every nut and bolt so you know exactly what to do, every vid I do will be detailed it takes more time to do but its worth it.
ECP exactly if you don’t put the effort into the videos you then don’t attract the viewers init to be honest what you’ve done to your car minus the rear diffuser n wheel guards both our cars are the same the things on my list are block mod injectors ect but I’m gonna get dream science to do that, plus need to keep it some what “a family car” lol
@@leebarton845 I will be doing a video on installing uprated RS injectors at some point this year, was also thinking of doing a bock mod but there very difficult to do so I will come back to that thought another day, I will be doing a lot of videos no one has done as my goal is to change most parts for new even the small stuff.
Oh I no. But when it was almost on I realised one hose wouldn't go on as it was to close to the rad then I thought fuck it. Take off and start again. Bloody nightmare... But seems to be all on and ready, just the bumper to do now but need the time to do it as kids always here lol.

@@ecp4538 i think you have to attach a screwdriver as there a clip on the rs one which you just slide. Could be wrong but agree they are weak

thanks . you've answered my questions as to whether there any benefits by doing this on a completely stock motor .
Another good video did my intercooler not to long ago the bolts behind the wheel arch where tricky but done it found my temps sit a little lower now

ECP yeah mine has what looks to be a stage 1 intercooler and seems to be fine running at roughly 290-300 on Mod X.

There shouldn't be any pipes coming of the intercooler blocked off, could you possibly be looking at the sound Symposer Delete

Omg I just fitted a pro alloy intercooler on mine what a complete nightmare... 4 hours to fit. Still havnt got the bu per on yet can't be asked lol.
