Carmen Miranda - Live Show in New York (Subtitled PT/BR) | 1950

The audio of this video comes from the LP "For the first time on disc a complete show of Carmen Miranda, A Pequena Remarkable on Broadway Stages", released in 1959 by Odeon. The Disco reproduces a show that Carmen and Bando da Lua presented in the early 1950s, at the Mark Hopkins Hotel, in New York.
To better illustrate, we added to the video some photos and videos of performances in movies, nightclubs and on American TV.

According to Aloysio de Oliveira, on the album's back cover: ''Show recorded in a small tape recording machine, which we connected directly to the microphone that Carmen used on stage. Carmen very much in the foreground and the boys from Bando da Lua and the orchestra in a plane where they could rarely be heard. In the Odeon studio, we then went on to carry out the hard work of reproducing the orchestra as it happened that night of the show. The Bando da Lua was also reproduced here; in all this we look for the greatest possible authenticity of the general atmosphere of the show. Me, Maestro Borba, his musicians, the technicians, trying to give each song, in each measure, the necessary synchronism (sometimes quite difficult to achieve) and the proper interpretation that each number required.''
